Yeah. Well. Clearly I'd forgotten jus this awful these stories were. It starts off rather average, but the 8-part Wolverine & Ghost Rider team-up was truly terrible. I get it that writing a story in 8-page chapters can be challenging, but this sets a new bar for lack of concentration. The art is rushed (at best) and sloppy. The story isn't even consistent from chapter to chapter (I'm not even going to mention how it's inconsistent with both the Ghost Rider & Wolverine titles that were being publ Yeah. Well. Yeah, don't bother with this one. Do yourself a favor, skip it.

Sadly, not even the superstar team of Mackie and Texiera can save this from the 90's serialized Marvel format. Somewhere along the line, plot holes and inconsistencies developed making this a sloppy mess where it might otherwise be a decent enough MCP story. At least Mackie and Texiera's Ghost Rider is on model enough to be entertaining. Sadly, not even the superstar team of Mackie and Texiera can save this from the 90's serialized Marvel format. It was an interesting choice for both the writer and artist to seemingly get amnesia between every issue and start fresh regardless of previous continuity and with no desire to resolve the constant cliffhangers. Perhaps they were following Burroughs' cut-up technique? If so a strong wind must have blown half the pieces away. I’ve only read #70, and I own #71 as well but after learning one of the creators is a pedophile I saw no need to continue... Anyways, here are my thoughts on the issue I did read: All four stories were dull and lacked any real emotion. It all felt mechanical to me, like the writers were just trying to get the work done and finish their stories. Granted each one is only ten pages, so it’s kind of hard to pack emotion into such a small space. My favorite moment was when he had to fend off the dogs in order to protect his suspect (who ultimately didn’t really need it). The hurt behind the action was palpable and the single tear... least to say it got to me. Content trigger warnings: Animal abuse, abduction

I remember the Acts of Vengeance story from MCP fondly from my youth. What ten or eleven year old wouldn't enjoy a book with both Wolverine and Ghost Rider? When I saw the collected version for $3 online a few weeks ago, I just had to jump at the chance to purchase it. How did it hold up? Well... you know, it works on the level of providing action-packed mayhem. Would a story like this get panned today? Sure it would. There were some hokey parts to it for sure, but it was a fun, fast read. I remember the Acts of Vengeance story from MCP fondly from my youth.
