who asked for a graphic novel adaptation of a movie?! this is almost entirely my fault. i didn't do enough research when i snapped this up for like $2, and just assumed it was a retelling of the book. it was not. it was of the tim burton adaptation, which i ABHOR. that movie is a crime against lewis carroll. anyway. the art also wasn't my cup of tea, and i just found this to be really annoying the whole way through. felt a lot longer than 90-something pages. bottom line: this book does not need to who asked for a graphic novel adaptation of a movie?! this is almost entirely my fault. i didn't do enough research when i snapped this up for like $2, and just assumed it was a retelling of the book. it was not. it was of the tim burton adaptation, which i ABHOR. that movie is a crime against lewis carroll. anyway. the art also wasn't my cup of tea, and i just found this to be really annoying the whole way through. felt a lot longer than 90-something pages. bottom line: this book does not need to exist.

A Graphic Novel A classic favorite that I always enjoy. The insights at the end were wonderful as well. I always love seeing all the different artworks for this. Mad Hatter will always be my favorite.

This graphic novel is the exact story of Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland film. I felt the movie was a better platform to tell the story because time passage was hard to convey through graphic novel form. I felt like if I hadn't seen the film I would have been confused in some parts, but overall I did enjoy myself while reading it. Although some parts I found rather shallow and pendantic.(For you, Josh :)) This graphic novel is the exact story of Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland film. There are two stories here and the first starts off well. I just couldn't/ didn't feel like investing the time to wander down this imaginary lane. I felt perhaps I would rather read the original novel. The graphics for the two stories are markedly different given the different illustrators. The book is further divided into how the two graphic stories came to being, in some way like a story board, which I glimpsed at, found interesting and satiating to see how a team works on a project like this. I found it disappointing that Disney has not recognised these creators on the outside of the book.

This is the first graphic novel that I've ever read, and I did enjoy it. I've always loved the story of Alice, but I'm not really sure how I feel about it being turned into a graphic novel. I did love all the pictures, I didn't love the format. This is the first graphic novel that I've ever read, and I did enjoy it. Disney's graphic novel interpreation of Alice in Wonderland! The artwork was cute and fitting, but I wish it was a little darker/creepier. It also could have been longer. I did appreciate the little "making of" in the back though. It was interesting learning about the process that the artists go through when developing a graphic novel! I loved the illustrations! However I felt like this graphic novel would have benefited with either better dialogue selections or additional pages so that the scenes flow a bit smoother. But it was still cute! I'm not sure if you really get anything extra out of this beyond the illustrations though. I loved the illustrations! A really easy read and while the pictures were beautiful I just feel like the graphic novels didnt convey enough wonderland nonsense for my taste but then again I didn't think the movie did that great either A really easy read and while the pictures were beautiful I just feel like the graphic novels didnt convey enough wonderland nonsense for my taste but then again I didn't think the movie did that great either

I wasn't really impressed with this adaptation. It does a fair job of sticking to the outline of Disney's movie, but I bought it because I was interested in the artwork. I wasn't a big fan of the Disney live-action adaptation, but based on the book's cover, I thought I'd at least like the art. It just wasn't to my taste. I actually enjoyed the sketches that were shown in the back where the talked about creating the comic, more than I enjoyed the comic itself. It's very short too (I know, most co I wasn't really impressed with this adaptation. I paid about $3 for this on Book Outlet, so I don't regret buying it and it's nice to add to my ever-growing pile of Alice books. But I wouldn't pay anywhere near full price for this. I'd say it's best for fans of the live-action Disney movie, more so than those who are a fan of the original work.

My full review is here on my personal website. I'll post a few excerpts here, though: 3.0 out of 5.0 stars The very worst thing about this book is that it tries to follow the movie exactly. It’s just not possible and if I hadn’t seen the movie I would have been completely lost. The very best thing about this book is that about a third of the book is information about the story and the book. Kind of a “making of” if you will. :-) My full review is here on my personal website. A very quick re-cap of the movie Alice in Wonderland directed by Tim Burton. I gave this graphic novel 3 stars because it was far too quick for my taste. Lots of bits were left out. Not the important ones, but bits none the less. I have seen the movie a dozen times so I know which bits are my favorites and which are my favorites teehee. Like I said this is a condensed version. Fun to own anyways if you love Alice and this is a great companion to the movie if you are a collector.

I liked this. I have always loved Alice in Wonderland, and I adored the 2010 live-action Disney film directed by Tim Burton - which is what this graphic novel is: an adaption of the 2010 film. It didn't really add anything, but it was fun to be in this world and to see it portrayed in a comic format. Enjoyed this. Can't wait for the sequel Alice Through the Looking Glass to hit theaters next month!! I liked this. This graphic novel made me remember how utterly f-ed up Tim Burton is AHHA. This was a crazy story with crazy charcaters and storyline. It was a bit confusing at the begining because they squished in a bunch of info all the same pages but you get the gist of the story. I do think I prefer the original story to this one. But still a good read and nice book to own.

There are many books published with this title (or Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass or just Through the Looking Glass.) The books vary almost entirely by who did the artwork. Alice in Wonderland is one of my favorites and that is why I have been getting so many versions of this book.

3/5 stars 95 pages This was fun however it sticks entirely to the movie version. Also its not detailed. I expected more from this one and it just fell short. Each panel felt like bullet points of what happened in the movie and it ended too soon. I just would have liked more. It was good. Not great. #honest the illustrations and characters were awesome.

Having not been a particular fan of the film, I was surprised to really enjoy this film to graphic novel adaptation. It was great seeing the additional notes at the back talking about the original story and then how the film came into being. Very enjoyable.

It was a very fast pace story. wish it was longer, but still a wonderful story. I wasn't so sure about the graphics but they ended up growing on me in a Tim Burton style. It also has a section at the end that connects the movie and the graphic novel together. It was a very fast pace story. wish it was longer, but still a wonderful story. Seeing as this was based on the Tim Burton film, I did not like. The illustrations were pretty, but the story took them down.

i agree with what some others have already said... it needs to be darker. It says it's from the Tim Burton version but it's not very Tim Burton like i agree with what some others have already said... it needs to be darker. It says it's from the Tim Burton version but it's not very Tim Burton like

It's less about the story and more about appreciating the art of it. Good for aficionados of the Tim Burton iteration of Alice. It's less about the story and more about appreciating the art of it. Good for aficionados of the Tim Burton iteration of Alice.
