I am desperate to find this book -- to borrow, rather than buy, however. Money is simply non-existant since my divorce, while the medical bills are still coming in way too fast. If you have a copy you wouldn't mind loaning me -- or a copy of any of Anna Kavanaugh's other books on my wish list (ALL of them are on my wish list ... I'm not picky other than that I prefer to read them in the order in which they were published, and I also prefer to read unabridged editions) -- I would be indebted to yo I am desperate to find this book -- to borrow, rather than buy, however. Please note, though: If you do loan me one or more of Anna Kavanaugh's books, it will probably take me longer than most people to return them to you ... This is because my narcolepsy is making it increasingly difficult for me to read for long periods of time; I tend to fall asleep whenever I try to read. And I was a slow reader in the first place, LOL. However, I ***WILL*** return anything you lend me, I'll return it in the same condition I receive it, and I'll gladly keep you posted on my reading progress so *you* will know when I'll be preparing to return the books to you. Thank you in advance for your help, :D Heather

This is a wonderful book, especially if you're interested in archeology or ancient symbolism whether it be fictional, fantastical or ancient fact. I guarantee this book will give you shocks that nobody would ever expect. It's a book that when you're hit with a twist you're almost repelled by it and can't believe what you're reading, but then you begin to see why and what it all really means. The boatman element is out of this world and sticks with you deep. Just 3 stars for the original release because I wanted to know more about Elias as a boy and his young understanding of what his parents were doing. I'd say to publishers that I understand putting a book out is expensive and typically it's tried to be kept at 350 pages or so, but over editing a longer book to try and make it fit into some average really affects the book! Just put the whole thing out! I'm so glad they published the unabridged version because it topped it all off for me and turned great into fantastic. Really wish they'd done that to begin with.

Great story but the publisher pulled a major flub in publishing this as an abridged edition. I didn't fully realize the extent until they published the unabridged as they should have. You cannot dissect a Kavanaugh book for the sake of marketability qualifications without losing the value of her message. Reiteration of my review on the unabridged version of this book which I awarded five stars. Same review but the book is lessened somewhat due to the abridgement so I award it four stars. Still my favorite Anna Kavanaugh novel and favorite rave.

I rate the abridged version of Truss a 3 only because after reading the unabridgement with the extra 200+ pages I have to downgrade it a grade! Love the story.
