The difference is the Chef. Scarlett Cole is a Master Chef and Love In Moments , the second installment in her Love Distilled series, is one of the best pies I've had in years. I especially like the crust, the rough edges she gives her main characters Olivia and Anders. Neither is perfect, a virgin, or royalty, but they felt more real to me than many characters I've read across any genre. Are there some classic tropes? Of course, but far fewer than I'm used to. If the tropes weren't there at all, then it wouldn't really be an apple pie. Without spoiling anything, this book felt like two broken people finding each other and not trying to fix each other. Instead they love the broken pieces while fixing themselves. I highly recommend it. I gave it 5 chocolate covered strawberries. 🍓🍓🍓🍓🍓 (It's just my arbitrary grading system. Yes, I know the strawberries don't have chocolate on them. There wasn't an emoji for that. Work with me this is my first one of these.)

Let me tell you something about reviewing a book that makes you feel so much. It’s ridiculously difficult to do because there is so much inside my head and embedded in my soul from this story that I do not know where to begin and I really don’t want my review to turn into a novella. There are times I wish that I could just say READ IT and be done but Scarlett Cole and her characters deserve so much more. This story comes out of the gate swinging and #winning. I was so giddy with excitement after Let me tell you something about reviewing a book that makes you feel so much. There are times I wish that I could just say READ IT and be done but Scarlett Cole and her characters deserve so much more. This story comes out of the gate swinging and #winning. I was so giddy with excitement after only reading the first chapter that I had to stop reading for a few hours and calm myself. THIS is the Scarlett Cole I fell in love with many years ago when she published her first novel, The Strongest Steel. That story sliced thru my soul and still today I don’t think I’ve read a story quite like it. Until Love in Moments. They’re not even remotely close as far as storylines are concerned but the power behind the writing is the same, if not better! Anders and Olivia are two characters that will stay with you long after you finish their journey. They are real. They are flawed. They are fighters. They are sexy. They are joy. They are #couplegoals. I know there is a lot of personal experience in Olivia coming from Scarlett. You can’t write this type of character with such grace and respect and not have walked in their shoes. I shouldn’t say that. Research is a beautiful thing, but it never replaces personal insight and experience. I felt Olivia down to the tip of my soul. My personal experience with mental struggles put me in a position to understand Olivia deeper than just a surface understanding and Scarlett’s word wizardry allowed for me to live the story, not just read it. And Anders, maaaan, what a fantastic character she developed with him! Everyone deserves an Anders in their lives. One last thing; the perfection of the conflict(s) in the story. I’m guessing by now you guys have figured out Olivia has personal hurdles she is attempting to move forward from in the story. Anders also has his own personal conflicts outside of their relationship he’s attempting to get a handle on. In most romance fiction books, the relationship always suffers a conflict before we get the HEA but when a story already has characters in conflict within themselves, it just adds unnecessary drama to the story. I mean we’ve already had a full storyline of personal conflict; do we really need more? Well, I’ve read way too many stories that do just that and I cannot tell you how #twitchy it makes me. Mad props to Scarlett Cole for not writing conflict for conflict!! I’ve never met Scarlett Cole and I don’t think we’ve ever even had an online chat, but I have loved her from the moment I met her words because she writes from her heart. It shows in every story I have read by her. Her love for the characters pours off the pages and sucks you into the world she creates easily. She writes circumstances realistically and respectfully. She’s all that and a bag of chips! :) Find out more about Love in Moments HERE ➡ https://wp.me/p7rQ0C-64h

Whoa boy, this was SEXY. Wasting no time getting right into the steam and keeping it central to the storyline throughout, this one’s got an intensity to it that I loved. I also loved the honesty; these are two flawed individuals, and sometimes they stumble. They feel real and relevant, with complex personalities. There’s something so inherently sexy about a man who takes the time to learn what his partner needs, and that is Anders. The steamy scenes made such an impact, and they were my favorite Whoa boy, this was SEXY. There’s something so inherently sexy about a man who takes the time to learn what his partner needs, and that is Anders. The steamy scenes made such an impact, and they were my favorite part of the book - and not just because they were smokin'. So while the actual love story in this was not a complete win for me and the overall tone kept me a little detached, there was plenty of great stuff that kept me reading. The story follows Anders, a pro hockey player whose work life is complicated. When he meets a beautiful woman on what's supposed to be his last night in town, Anders convinces her to spend it in bed with him. They were only supposed to be a one night stand, but the evening made more of an impact than either one expected. So when Anders returns to town a short time later - possibly for the long run - it makes sense to give them a real chance. But Anders and Olivia have done everything out of order, and they've got a lot of catching up to do if they want to make things work. The best part about this is probably just how intelligent it feels. The love story is nuanced, the steam is carefully crafted, and there's an emotional depth throughout that feels distinct. For a relationship that comes together very quickly - sometimes at instalove levels - it felt deeper than expected. At times, the tone was too serious for me, leaning towards boring. That kept me a little bit disconnected from the story, and is really the only reason that I can't give this a 5-star rating. It didn't hook me in completely, but there was so much about it that I loved. This is my first time reading this author's work, and I wouldn't hesitate to check out more. I received an early copy and am voluntarily leaving a review of this sexy romance.

I can't say this enough: Scarlett Cole made me cry, laugh and sigh while reading this book. It was perfection! I know I say this about all her books these days, but it's true. Olivia and Andres meet at his brother's wedding, have a one-night-stand and, you now, think it's only one night. Fast forward about 2 months and they meet again! Fast forward about 2 months and they meet again! He's a hockey player who's been traded to her city. We're treated to a meeting full of shock and delight, but also a lot of denial... Olivia has had a year from hell and she doesn't know if she's read for a relationship. She has had to deal with depression, anxiety and losing her dad and to make everything worst, she thins it's been all her fault. Intellectually she knows it's not true, but how do you convince your inner self? Reading about her fight has brought me to tears and you can plainly see that the author really knows what she's talking about(unfortunately). Andres is convinced he can only do one thing at a time well: either a relationship or hockey. He can't deal with a relationship so he didn't contact Livie when he moved. They meet by accident, and not only once! I love how it feels that the universe was conspiring for them to be together. He's super focused and he has trouble disengaging when he's concentrating on something. The way Ms Cole wrote the 2 of them, showing how different they are from each other, but also how well they complement themselves has made me swoon. As I was reading the book, I could see how both Andres and Olivia were fighting for their relationship. It was both easy and a lot of work and it felt so real. The same with the secondary characters, we see Olivia's brother and sister, Natalie(her best friend) and Andres' brother and Ms Cole made them feel real. All in all, I can't wait to read more books from her!

    Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews

Scarlett’s got her groove back!!! While I enjoyed the first book in this series, Love in Numbers, at times it felt a bit stilted, but there was none of that in Love In Moments. Despite this couple beginning as a one- night stand; in that one night, they broke down barriers and gave to each other freely leaving a lasting impression on one other. So much so that when they meet again, they aren’t sure how to react to each another or how to deal with their feelings towards one another. In the first Scarlett’s got her groove back!!! In the first book of this series we knew that Olivia (Liv) was coming out of a deep depression brought on by the distillery’s event center being damaged by a storm and a groom for the wedding the next day blaming her for everything despite the fact she did everything she could to accommodate them for their wedding. Shortly after that her father passed away and she and her siblings found out that there was no insurance to cover the damage because she hadn’t done something correctly leaving the event center with no insurance. At the beginning of this book we see Liv a bit stronger, managing a big wedding for a local hockey star and his wife, and getting back to work on the marketing of the distillery. I appreciated the way Liv’s depression was handled by the author giving legitimacy to her story. Watching Liv grow stronger throughout this book both mentally and physically, watching her educate her siblings on their responses to her depression and the way they treat her, and seeing her help Anders with some of his issues was a highlight of this story. Liv was a bit broken, but she worked every day to show she was capable, she was strong, and most of all she was ready to live her life. Anders came across as a put together professional hockey player and while there was no doubt he cared about Liv and made her feel good about herself, underneath he was a 23 year old man who had problems of his own bigger than where he would go in free agency. Anders thought he had it all together, but as he and Liv began to really knock down her walls and learn how important communication is, she began to make him see he has problems of his own that he needed to try and fix before it ruins what promises to be a long career. It would have been easy to see Anders as Liv’s savior, but in reality they saved each other by being open, honest, and talking through their respective problems and helping one another along the way. It wasn’t always easy, they had obstacles to overcome, but they became closer with each step forward. Physically they were perfect for one another from the start, but cerebrally and emotionally took a bit longer. Love In Moments was well crafted, the characters showed great growth both individually and as a couple, and while there was a lot going on in the book, their love story was front and center the whole time. I loved it! Review copy provided for a voluntary review.

***5 Stars*** This book hit all, and I mean ALL, the right buttons for me. It had everything that I could have asked for in any romance. I wanted to tag along and experience what promised to be an amazing life...but since that isn’t necessarily possible… So the review. I don’t think I’ve ever fallen in love with two characters as quickly as I did with Anders and Olivia...okay, Anders was the one, but Olivia really wasn’t that far behind...because I swear before the second chapter was even halfway done, I was DONE. Like the first chapter I was in total “awww” mode and then BOOM. He became total book boyfriend material. This isn’t to say that he didn’t have me wanting to Gibbs smack him a few times, because he did, BUT good man, good heart and OMG he actually communicates (most of the time *BSEG*) And Olivia. This woman is so strong, even when she doesn’t think she, she is strong and while I have not experienced all that she has, I did connect with her on a few other levels and I loved watching as she took the steps she needed to get the life she wanted to live. As for their journey to their HEA. It was a lot of fun. Yes, there were a few bumps in their road, but they were honest ones because they are two people trying to figure what they want their futures to be. Their chemistry was off the charts ~ like OMG HAWT ~ and I loved watching them get to know each other and working through whatever life threw at them. I’ve been a fan girl of the author’s since first stumbling upon her Second Circle series and have followed *cough* stalked *cough* her religiously on her SM sites to ensure that I was in the know about any new words she was putting out into the world. So, it’s no surprise that I loved the book, but this one may just be my fav of them all. It definitely gets deep as it addresses depression/mental health and all the ups and downs that one can go through, but all of it was done and was necessary for Olivia’s evolution. And then there is the supporting cast of characters. I loved catching up with Emerson and Conner and I’m crossing my toes that Natalie and maybe a few of Anders teammates may get their own HEA at some point down the road. But Jake...he kind of has big shoes to fill, but I’m definitely looking forward to seeing him get his HEA! ~ Copy provided by SBPR & voluntarily reviewed ~

This is a really sweet read, the second in the Love Distilled series, and the story of the youngest Dyer sibling, Olivia, in a one-night-stand-turned-more sports romance that is cute and sexy with a lot of heart. Olivia is getting her life back together after the worst year of her life. She lost her father, her family’s gyn distillery was damaged and their reputation took a hit, which she feels tremendous guilt for and she endured months of completely unwarranted personal attacks. She suffered with debilitating depression and anxiety, but she has pulled herself through and is getting back on track. She doesn’t have time for anything other than concentrating on herself and her work as events co-ordinator for the family business, but she does embrace her wild side for one night when she indulges in an epic one-night-stand with a wedding guest at the distillery, and it rocks her world. “We barely know each other, Olivia…and after tonight, it’s unlikely that our paths will ever cross again. But will you trust me with every part of your body anyway?” Anders Berg is a Swedish hockey player in town for his brother’s wedding. He shares an instant connection with the gorgeous event planner, which led to their hot night together before he returned to his team in Arizona. But when he is unexpectedly traded to play for Denver’s NHL team, he ends up running into Olivia again, and though he knows he is only in town temporarily, he’s keen to explore more. “That night was way more than meaningless sex. We connected and you know it. That’s why it’s been impossible to stop thinking about you.” It’s a fun set-up, and though they have incredible chemistry, Liv and Anders are both focussing on their careers and they don’t have time for a relationship… but really they do, and it doesn’t take long for them to get on the same page, and then it’s all on. They throw themselves into the most gorgeous, romantic, easy and natural relationship, and I was swooning hard. “A part of me thinks I should just go and leave you alone. But there’s a part of me that’s desperate to know…” “To know what?” He took her hand and kissed the back of it. If she wanted charming, he was sure he could figure out how to live up to it. He’d research it if he needed to. “To know how good we could be.” Olivia blushed as she ate more of her dinner. “I think we know how good we can be,” she muttered. Unable to resist, he ran his knuckle down her check and along her jaw. “I means how good we could be out of bed, Liv. We know how good we are in it.” Anders is the most gentle, patient, understanding man. He’s new to relationships, but he handles it like a champ, and he’s so incredible with Liv. He’s protective, affectionate and caring, he doesn’t hold back or hide anything from her, and he’s also sexy as all hell. “There’s nothing at all wrong with you, I’m just the first guy you’ve slept with willing to find out what you need, and you’re so fucking worth it.” But Anders focus is firmly on the future and what he wants from his career. At the same time, Liv is stuck in the past and all that she has gone through. Watching the two lovers find a way to meet in the middle is a really special journey, full of honesty and emotion, and I loved watching them work through it all to get their HEA. I loved the glimpses we saw of Emerson and Connor, from the first book. The next book will feature Olivia’s older brother, Jake, in a friends-to-lovers romance, and I’m really looking forward to that one. This was such a cute read, I really enjoyed it. 4 stars. An Advanced Review Copy was generously provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.

LOVE IN MOMENTS is the second instalment in Scarlett Cole’s contemporary, adult LOVE DISTILLED erotic, romance series focusing on the Dyer siblings. Told from dual third person perspectives (Anders and Olivia) LOVE IN MOMENTS follows the building romance and relationship between Swedish hockey player Anders ‘Iceberg’ Berg, and Dyer’s Gin Distillery co-owner Olivia Dyer’s. A Christmas Eve wedding at Dyer’s Distillery in Denver, Colorado finds Anders Berg helping a flustered Olivia Dyer following a workplace accident that left our heroine short staffed. A one-night stand between our leading couple becomes awkward several weeks later when Anders Berg is traded to the Denver Rush bringing our hero up close and personal with the woman he hasn’t been able to get out of his head but Anders doesn’t do relationships, and Olivia is struggling with demons from her past. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Anders and Olivia, and the potential fall-out as Anders time in Denver comes with a possible expiry date. Olivia Dyer has struggled since the storm that all but destroyed the family business, and in this the family is overly protective of our story line heroine. Meeting Anders Berg stirs something deep within our story line heroine but Anders has been honest, claims to not be interested in a permanent relationship but only a little fun on the side. Hoping his time with the Denver Rush expires at the end of the season, Anders isn’t prepared to fall head over heals for our story line heroine. The relationship between Anders and Olivia begins as a one night stand wherein our hero never promises a happily ever after but a trade to the Denver Rush, the team in which his brother Karl also plays, forces Anders to face the woman that he could never forget. Olivia fell for Anders on Christmas Eve but never expected to come face to face with the man who is about to break her heart. The $ex scenes are intimate, passionate and seductive without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text. The colorful secondary and supporting characters including Ander’s brother Karl; Olivia’s sister Emerson and her husband Connor (Love in Numbers 1), their brother Jake, as well as several members of the Denver Rush. The character driven premise is realistic and imaginative; the romance is spicy and spirited; the characters are edgy and intense. www.thereadingcafe.com

Not sure about the hows and whys at first. Anders a hockey player is at the event she's hosting for a wedding. It starts out with some help and a one night stand. I'm kind happy Anders was traded to Denver heh purely for reasons I like the real hockey team there. Although I found it out he was traded for nothing in turn? Or just wasn't mentioned. Yeah it sucks to be traded, but Anders has his goals. In this Anders is a rental player it seems, he had so much potential, young derailed by circumstances and this was a turning point for him career wise. So that made everything including his attraction to Olivia not his focus. I'm glad to see they aired it out somewhat though backwards they tried to see if it would work. It happens a bit too fast after to be taking it slow. This wasn't a a long book so I guess to move the story along. I have no idea how old Olivia is maybe it's mentioned previously. I just wonder how compatible they are, since one is a young athlete the other dealing with past issues and settling into her role at the distillery. But they do get along despite all that. Anders is patient with some of her insecurities and past issues she's still dealing with. Olivia can be great at her work and she's trying her best but sometimes up sometimes her trauma creeps up. Anders had to gain her trust to let him in. I definitely enjoyed the hockey part of this and it seems like the author knows her stuff. I just have to mention there's a lot of steaminess, not sure if that's because he's a athlete of a something. He was a little too enamored for while. Honestly I didn't feel the connection more than the physical sometimes. He's a man of few words, he has some growth on how he viewed his hockey career. He was understanding of Olivia's mental health which is always great and supportive in his own way. I do like the Swiss aspect of this it sounded authentic. Ultimately since Anders was a bit caught up on Olivia his hockey game starts slipping. That was a point of contention. They got through it easily enough with communication. I felt like a lot of this was how Anders dealt with all these changes, owning to his mistakes, realizing who how he acted. being accountable. Olivia seems to be the catalyst and made him better. Vice versa with her and her weight goals. This was a wordy review but I guess overall, there was stuff I liked a lot and stuff that I didn't really feel.

Scarlett Cole has always been a must read author for me. She tackles emotional topics in a real way. She gives her characters such depth that I can’t put her books down. Guess what? Anders has his own hurdles to cross. He is trying to figure out his hockey career and other challenges that rise up especially in relationship to Olivia. Hockey has always been his whole life and he is not sure what to do about the possibilities of more. So if you like a story with a hot hockey player, a girl finding herself, and an amazing tribe around them, look no further. Best of all, these two spice up the page together. Wink Wink. It was super sexy and absolutely melted my heart! ”You could be my Christmas present. It’s one night. We live thousands of miles away from each other. But tonight. One night. It would be magic.” On Christmas Eve, Anders ‘Iceberg’ Berg is in Denver for his brother’s wedding, which is being held at a gin distillery. A beautiful brunette working there catches his eye. Turns out that she’s one of the owners and when an emergency in the kitchen arises, he steps in to lend a hand. At the end of the evening, he proposes one night with no strings. He is totally focused on his future hockey career and once his contract with his Phoenix team ends, he’s looking to move anywhere but Denver. What he doesn’t expect is the sweet, vulnerable but sexy woman he uncovers. One that he can’t stop thinking about weeks later. ”He’d compartmentalized her, locked her in a box not to be opened. She was his f*cking Pandora’s box.” Olivia Dyer is one year on from suffering some traumatic events in her life and she’s pretty much back on her feet and getting on with her life. However, demons from the past keep her from truly moving on. When the gorgeous guy at the event she’s managing offers a night of no-strings sex, she feels that she’s got nothing to lose knowing that she’s probably never going to see him again. What she doesn’t expect is the deep connection they make and how unforgettable that night becomes. So it’s a shock, and surprisingly hurtful, when she spots him by chance with another woman…back in town. ”He ached for her. For Olivia. The way she’d exposed herself to him emotionally, the way she’d revealed more of her sexuality. He needed her more than his next breath.” This was such a fantastic story. I loved the connection between Anders and Olivia. She’s been so deeply hurt in the past and her self-confidence is so fragile that I adored Anders’ patience and his determination to give her the night of her life. I totally fell for him in that first night they were together. He just wanted to make everything perfect for her. When they meet again, I get that he was focused on his future and needed to compartmentalise his life but, at the same time, I liked that he knew when he was being an idiot about Olivia. I thrilled that he wanted to give a relationship between a try, even though he didn’t know where he was going to end up eventually. I loved his dedication to making Olivia happy, comfortable and safe. I loved that he wanted to spoil her. Olivia was stronger than she gave herself credit for but I loved the sexual confidence that Anders inspired in her. He brought so much colour into her life and she brought a wealth of emotions into his. These two were a perfect match and the author portrayed their individual journeys wonderfully, pulling Olivia’s head out of the past and Anders’ head out of the future, so they could live in the present moment together. He's attentive and generous. Olivia doesn't know the hockey player, she just sees the man, she trusts him totally for one night, she gives herself. When they meet again, the attraction is still here . They couldn't forget each other and they can't stay away. They both have flaws so they are realistic, but when they succeed to communicate they are stronger, they have the perfect words and the perfect behaviour to help the other. Anders is always focused on his future, Olivia is trapped by her past. Together they will learn to live in the moment, to enjoy what they have, what's between them. Olivia knows too well what anxiety and depression are, and she wants to move on with her life but her family, by being overprotective, doesn't help. I really liked this part. I struggle with depression since many years and sometimes, while reading, i thought "omg my family said the same thing to me". I could relate and i appreciate Scarlet's choice of topics. It's like people who never struggled with depression know you better than you do, and know what's best for you... But they don't! And yes, it feels like your past is always haunting you, always burdening your thoughts. You have no self-esteem and you feel worthless. The author perfectly describes that. I LOVED that Anders doesn't save Olivia, he just holds her hand on the road of recovery, on the road of their new lives. And Olivia is so much braver than she thinks and i admire her so much for that. Even with her own issues she stills here for those she loves and she helps Anders by reminding him why he loves hockey, the collective sport, not the charts and the strategies. Love In Moments is a beautiful lesson of love and hope. It's a realistic fairy tale with very steamy scenes. Scarlet poured her heart into this novel and she brilliantly succeeded to make us understand her characters. You can love someone while working on loving yourself. You can have a happy relationship while building a new life and becoming a new version of yourself. Past and future doesn't exist but can be a burden, free yourself from them and live the moment. (Yes it's easier said than done but you have nothing to lose by trying). "Maybe that's our foundation, Liv. Perhaps a relationship is the one stable thing we have while everything else settles." I received an ARC in exchange of an honest review. Thank you so much Scarlett.

Scarlett Cole brings a sensitive story of living in the present even while forgiving the past and reaching for the future in Love In Moments. Olivia "Liv" Dyer carried the burden of her past into her present and struggled with contemplating a future. The guilt Liv carried over her perceived part in her father's death nearly destroyed her and impeded her from living her best life. Anders Berg was so caught up in his future that he did not appreciate the present and often missed out on life with what ifs. Introverted he further isolated himself with his inability to see anything but possibilities missing the realities. An unexpected one night stand set the stage for Liv and Anders to find the balance in life they both needed to be complete individually and to enjoy each other as a couple. This author did a phenomenal job of emphasizing how perceptions of the past and future are tricky and often skew the reality of current events. Liv and Anders were fallible characters that struggled to find their way in life and accepting that maybe their self-imposed obstacles were what were holding them back. The intuitive communication between this couple and the desire to make things work even when things were not easy was a testament to this author's skill. Ms. Cole's seeking to focus on her character's personal dynamic being supportive rather than a point of conflict was refreshing showing that interpersonal conflict in a relationship does not always have to dictate a romance story. Learning the strength of a relationship rather than the liability of it made this story shine. Sometimes it is the little things that people overlook or write off that are romantic and Ms. Cole demonstrated this in abundance with this couple. Often swoony and sigh worthy there was nothing cold in the connection between Liv and Anders! Scarlett Cole has built a sizable body of work and stands out for her continued quality writing and caring storylines. Her focus on depression in this story was done with compassion and kindness. Her emphasis on it's crippling effects even while presenting it as something that can be worked through was well done. In all of her stories this author integrates serious subject matter in such a way that it is not only approachable by her audience but something that does have to be insurmountable even while being a strong foundation to her work. Love in Moments shares a touching story and adds a great addition to Scarlett Cole's Love Distilled series. *I was given an advanced copy. All opinions expressed are my own. * *While part of a series this book can be read as a stand alone.*

Ms. Cole created a story where you instantly felt the chemistry between the characters. Just the way Anders is with Olivia is swoon-worthy. He takes care of her, always shows Olivia her worth. These two characters melted the ice! This was the first book I’ve read by Ms. Cole, but I instantly fell in love with her writing style and her character building. I purposely kept this review short, because I feel that readers should experience this story. You will fall in love with Anders. You will cheer on Olivia. I don’t want to give anything away. Amazing read!

So, I love Scarlett Cole. Her Preload series is one of my all-time favorites, and Jordan Reclaimed is one of my top five rereads. I think she is absolutely fantastic. With that being said Love in Moments didn't hit the mark for me, which I hate, because I love this author and wanted so badly to love this book. What I loved: This book is sexy AF. Anders and Olivia are complex and complicated characters, both of them battling their own demons. Whereas Anders is still trying to figure out his future and to find his place in the game and in his world, Olivia is dealing with the aftermath of a crippling depression that ruled her life for far too long. It hasn't been that long that she has fought her way back to life and at times she is still struggling. As someone who has first-hand experience with depression, I recognized much of myself in her. The author perfectly described the crippling feelings, the helplessness, and also the lack of understanding of those around you who never experienced anything like this and who simply can't understand it. This book is intense and honest and despite this serious topic, it is still a beautiful love story and we get to see Olivia reclaim her life bit by bit, step by step with Anders at her side who supports her. I really loved this book and can't wait to read the next book in the series!

I don't think that Gin and I are going to be friends, but that doesn't stop me from loving a story around a Gin distillery. The setting just gets better and better every time I read about it. And Scarlett Cole did as always an amazing by capturing the characters. Anders is a star on the ice, but he has no idea how to deal with a serious relationship. He cares so much for Olivia and he really wants this relationship to work. Then there is Liv. Her story was like a therapy session for myself. I know what depression feels like. I know the struggle. And I know the feeling of the people around you. So I really connected with Olivia. She too has a lot on her shoulders and tries so hard to get everything right. I really admire her for her strenght. I thought that Love in Numbers, book #1 in the Love Distilled series was already a masterpiece, but Love in Moments managed to surpass it. This story is brilliantly written and grips you right from the start! The plot is fast paced and intriguing and the two main protagonists extremely relatable and endearing. Their sexy scenes were full of scorching heat and undeniable passion! I seriously had to fan myself often while reading them. You can tell that Scarlett does a lot of research for her books. She pays attention to details and doesn't gloss over important topics like mental health. This is why I adore her writing so much! She portrayed Liv's struggle with depression and Anders need of control in a very vivid and understandable way, which made the reader sympathize with them, rather than pity them. Their journey made me reflect on many things in life and put stuff into perspective. But what it teached me most is that we need to be more compassionate and patient with other people and not judge or underestimate them too easily. We can't tell by watching a person on the outside how they're exactly feeling on the inside. Swedish hockey player, Anders “Iceberg” Berg and Olivia Dyer meet each other for the first time at his brother’s wedding which is held at her family's gin distillery. Anders is a handsome, caring and very disciplined young man who's focused on his hockey career. He never expected to get off track after meeting the beautiful and sweet Liv Dyer who rocked his entire world after spending an unforgettable night with her. Olivia (Liv) Dyer is a sweet, smart and good hearted young woman who runs the Public Relations side of her family's business. After losing her father and all the bad press concerning cancelled events at the destillery, she suffered from depression and anxiety. I found myself bewitched from page one and completely besotted with the wonderful protagonists of this opposites attract contemporary romance. While this is the second installment in the addictive Love Distilled series it can be read as a complete standalone. I'm a fan of Scarlett Cole's poignant and captivating writing since years. She's a very talented and versatile author. Her powerful words always touch the deepest recesses of my soul. I find myself enraptured with her ability to display the heart-breaking struggles and hard-earned triumphs of her multi-layered, complex and easily relatable characters while teaching us profound life lessons. That's exactly what I'm looking for in a great book. Love In Moments tackles the sensitive topic of depression in a very respectful and tactful way. Those of us who have experienced it firsthand will highly appreciate the way this author handled it. It's important to take your time to heal and to take one step at a time. And when you manage to finally emerge out of it, from the darkness that is threatening to swallow you whole, you're often not the same person you once used to be but a new, stronger, more resilient version of yourself. Anders Berg, a Swedish Hockey player, meets Olivia Dyer at his older brother's wedding at a gin destillery. He's immediately intrigued by the gorgeous brunette who is organising the event. A kitchen catastrophy throws Anders and Olivia together which leads to a night full of passion and desire they soon won't forget. But Anders is in Phoenix while Olivia is in Denver - it's simply not meant to be. When Anders is unexpectedly traded to the Denver Rush their only viable option is to throw all caution to the wind and give into the strong attraction they feel for each other. When Anders and Liv meet they're at different places in their lives - she is stuck in the past still trying to put behind the horrible year when her father died and the event hall in the destillery was destroyed by a storm while he is focused on his future counting the days until he is a free agent and can land the hockey contract of his dreams. They knew that they were physically compatible but they had to work on themselves first and to overcome their own issues before building a future together. And boy was their relationship filled with trust, love and support like no other. I adored them together. I respect a man who puts a woman's needs first and helps her rebuild her confidence. Anders didn't treat Liv like she was made of glass. And I admire a woman who takes care of her man and always knows what to say and do to make him happy and put him at ease. Liv brought a lightheartedness and joy to Anders life. He was often so focused and single-minded that he forgot to smile and live in the moment. If you're a sucker for a sexy, dreamboat of a hero and a strong, endearing heroine who have amazing chemistry and are dynamite together in the bedroom than this story is going to be right up your alley. I recommend Love In Moments from the bottom of my heart and strongly encourage you to pick it up and let Scarlett Cole put you under her magical spell. I'm giving this top favorite of 2021 five shiny stars!
