He's reintroduced to her as Deacon Father Maxence & she's clearly shocked then horrified!🙈 They talk to clear the air over her now being complicit in him breaking his Holy Vows. They both want to continue on with charity mission as planned & she is vital as the only medical professional on their 6 person team. It's the first time a female has accompanied them though so it could possibly cause some issues putting 5 grown men in just two tents instead of three.😆 Once they're on the actual foothills of the Himalayas & they're looking for sites for what one of Max's old school friends wants to donate to the area, Dree was gutted by the lack of medical care available to all of the men, women and children in the villages. The further into the mountains they travelled the worse the medical conditions became. Dree was struggling to contain her fury & despair at how little she could achieve and especially at how nothing was being done by anyone else to help them. Basic medical care, vaccinations & nutrition etc all seemed a vital & necessary part of life that could be offered but it wasn't - AT ALL!!💔😭 Max & the rest of the team are blown away by her passion, care & empathy for the people they meet & treat. Tensions begin to rise though once some of the team think the original mission is almost pointless, it's because the problems are so much deeper & wide ranging than that one thing he wants to fix.😔 It all comes to head after a baby born early & needs specialist care which the village doesn't have access or transport to, proving their point!😱💔 Wow, the emotional turmoil throughout this book is immense!💥 Not only is there all of the social injustice & heart break, there's also both Dree & Max's upset that the Church isn't doing as much as they could & perhaps should according to Mathew ? Plus the growing feelings of sexual tension, admiration & awe of one another feels so important, right & even loving?!🔥😍💘 There were some big surprises, one was particularly awful & a real let down. Max's experiences as a child gut punched me.😭 I loved how much trust he put in Dree though. His bedtime stories & her reactions were priceless.😃 Max's deep need to join the church is explored quite deeply, especially at the end, and makes so much sense. I think it might run a bit deeper than he's realised yet but we will see. He is one of the most deeply flawed, complex but truly kind hearted & fearful characters I think I've ever read. My heart bleeds for him. This ends on one heck of a hook, as the timeline starts to catch up with Flicka's final book.😉💥 This book was an absolute pleasure to read from start to finish, I didn't know what to expect but it wasn't this depth of emotion across so many levels. It's almost a gritty social commentary on the Church & the 1 %'ers of our world and roles they could play that could potentially alleviate all, or most, of the planets health issues if they just chose to stop putting profits above lives!🙏 I can't recommend 'Order' highly enough!🌟 Debbie, 1970, UK

I couldn’t wait to read the rest of Maxence’s story. The 1st book was very sexy, with Max’s alpha male pose and the way he throws money around to impress Dree. This one is a punch to the gut. Here, we see the other side of Maxence: the ordained deacon who wants to make the world better, with a very dedicated nurse Dree by his side, and his struggle with his feelings and desires. Simply beautiful! And sulfurous. I couldn’t put it down. It was a very emotional read though, and I had to take a break I couldn’t wait to read the rest of Maxence’s story. Travelling through Nepal, Dree joins Max and his team as they drive from one small village to the next, offering medical care and evaluating building sites for a charitable project. Both Dree and Max are absolutely committed to maintaining professional distance, Max because he has already taken the holy orders with the intention of becoming a priest, and Dree because she is a devout Catholic and has no intention of becoming his sin. But not surprisingly, there are a few obstacles thrown their way. It’s an emotional journey, as Dree tries to save villagers from one disease or another and there are some horrific things happening in these primitive places—scurvy, advanced cancer, muscular dystrophy, blindness. Every day, Dree pours her soul into healing as many as she can, and every day, Max tries to take care of her and keep her from overdoing it. He does so under the watchful eye of his two friends from La Rosie, who are openly interested in Dree, and a priest from the US. And Max tries so hard to fight his attraction to her, which is far more than a physical thing. At one point, the priest cautions him, “You have the soul of a priest, Deacon Father Maxence, but I do not know if you have the heart of one.” It’s an interesting observation and distinction that might never have occurred to me. It’s clear Max feels something powerful for her. No one can say Blair Babylon is not a talented writer, and if they did, they’d be wrong. Some of her descriptions of the scenery are poetic, like "foothills crumpled the fabric of the land ahead of them,” and “the mountains chopped black voids out of the horizon around them.” “The valleys were slashes between the towering mountains, knifed into the earth by water.” This description was particularly dactylic, immediately bringing forth memories of cold New England mornings: “Overnight, snow had dusted the town and mountains, covering everything with white. Their boots crunched the crisp layer like they were walking on a giant, delicate eggshell laid over the earth.” At one point, the hands of a baby are described as “tiny starfish,” a description so perfect it’s a wonder I’ve never heard it before. And we’ve all read some great descriptions of scents, but this whimsical one took it to the next level, not quite je ne sais quo, but almost: “...the subtle scent of his cologne, which was cinnamon, vanilla, and the secrets that happened in an orange grove at night where no one could see.” Dree’s sense of humor was a welcome bit of lightness whenever things got too intense. When she first arrives in Nepal and discovers that Augustine is actually Maxence, who is actually a deacon, he tells her, “you can call me Deacon Father Maxence or Father Maxence.” Her retort is the one anyone in her position would love to have, “Yeah, it’d be too suspicious if I called you daddy.” While arguing with him about accompanying him on the impending journey despite the fact that he thought Andrea was a man’s name and the rest of the party will be male, she provides potential scenarios and he says, “We’ll cross that rickety, swinging suspension bridge over a raging river when we come to it.” There’s a saying about avoiding conversations about religion and politics if you don’t want to offend people. Blair Babylon unabashedly tackles both, talking about money-laundering real estate moguls in NY, one in particular named Funk, who likes to put his name on towers, rich people who think they are entitled and blame poor people for their circumstances, and the whole argument within the church about whether charity should be at the individual or church level or both. Matthew 25:31-46 is quoted extensively, a not-so-veiled jab at those who claim to be Christian while refusing to help the immigrant, the child locked in a cage, the poor and suffering, because those are the people Jesus expects you to help. When you forsake them, you forsake him. The extensive Catholicism referenced in this book almost made me long for the catechisms I learned as a child and young adult, if only because of the ease with which they came back to me. “Whatsoever you do, for the least of my brothers, that, you do unto me,” rang through my head whenever they debated the true call of Christians in the world, something that has, sadly, been forgotten by many. After a particularly confrontational discussion between the travelers, one of them making a comment that is horribly entitled, very Marie Antoinette. “The statement splashed into the conversation, and everyone stepped back and raised their hands to avoid the moral mud splatter.” This was so vivid to me and such an apt way of portraying how most people would react instinctively (at least I hope so). The priest traveling with them describes Dree as an angel working to help people, and therefore beyond reproach, and Dree is so affected by this, her emotions are described thusly: “The mountains turned to water in the morning sunshine. The tear that dripped down her face was hot, then turned cold in the freezing winter air.” Finally, because I don’t want to give away too much of the plot, Dree, when faced with a revelation about Max that she doesn’t want to believe and which he is finding especially hard to process, responds simply by saying, “Nuh-uh.” I cracked up when I read that because that was such a Dree statement, and it had the very real effect of shattering the tension. Subsequent to that, however, she surprised me by her insightful observations, demonstrating an emotional intelligence and logic that made me respect her even more than I already did. It’s not the end of this series. Maybe there will be one more book, maybe two. I can’t tell, but I can tell you that I will be reading however many there are because I am hooked.

The next thing she knows she on her way to Nepal to help decided if small clinics for premature babies. She gets there only to release Augustine is actually Max a priest. So here's the spoiler he is not 100% a priest. In the Catholic church there are several steps to becoming a priest or nun. Max is pretty far in because he's a decon. He can say certain parts of mass, give communion, and I believe marry someone, and give last rights. Don't quote me on those last two I'm not 100% sure about those two. Order goes into detail about Max, sin, his two separate lives. Max and his "off-duty" personality and his devote Catholic personality. ***End small spoiler*** Dree and Max have so much sexual tension that there practically shooting off them. At the same time they want to be good Catholics. Max, especially is questioning if God really has called him to be a Priest. Plus they are trying to figure out if the clinics are viable. This is a slow burn book in many ways but that doesn't mean there some really hot scenes. And when they do give into their desires... wow they blow things a way. Honestly I will never look at a tent the same way again. As to the writing itself Blair has created a complex world where characters come to life on the page and get into your head. The scenery is woven into the story and is important to the plot. Honestly so few author's get this aspect of writing right. Blair is one of the few that can. You can build the world in Nepal in your imagination because there's enough detail for you to have a clear picture of where the characters are, but she leaves just enough out that the reader can use their imagination to fill in the blank spaces. This writing skills keeps the reader married to the story even when very little action is happening. A lot does happen, though. I won't go into them so I won't ruin the story for you but the action brings a dramatic tension to the story that makes it hard to put down. I stayed up half the night to finish reading it. Triggers: some violence, extreme poverty, a sexual relationship between a person of authority and in the process of becoming a priest with a women he's working with. As for the last part I know many readers are going to see the blurb that says he a priest and say "Heck, no!". I beg you not to do that and give this series a chance. You'll quickly realize how well the situation between Max and Dree is handled and how respectful of the church the book is. This is not a book written solely for kinky taboo sex. Order is not that type of book. Order is a well written love story between two complex, damaged individuals who want each other but also want to do the right thing. The sex scenes are written to drive the narrative forward and to add another layer of complexity to the story. Yes, they are extremely sexy, but they also are used to show the growing intimacy between Dree and Max. Please give Order and this series a chance. You won't be disappointed. I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

"Order" is the book I've most looked forward to this month, and as always, Blair did not disappoint. This is the second of three books: the first book, "Rogue," showed us Maxence's life as he lives it in the "real world" of money, privilege, and political machinations. There's danger, excitement, and all other Worldly things. "Order," begins with Max's transition from Worldly life to his desperately yearned for Spiritual life. Here we get a much deeper look into Maxence's life, and his mind. We "Order" is the book I've most looked forward to this month, and as always, Blair did not disappoint. There's danger, excitement, and all other Worldly things. "Order," begins with Max's transition from Worldly life to his desperately yearned for Spiritual life. Here we get a much deeper look into Maxence's life, and his mind. We begin to understand why he behaves the way he does, his deeply rooted motivations. Max has a beautiful, but damaged soul, and this really becomes clear, little by little, over the course of this book. There's deep issues revealed here, not just regarding Max, but extreme poverty, the power of an individual compared to the power of an organization, to bring about real, substantial change... and the ability of the powerful to take advantage of those "beneath" them. Issues of Good and Evil, hope and hopelessness; being a force for change and good in your own life and the lives of others. "The only way I can reconcile it is to think that evil JUST IS. It's not from or of God, and prevention of it doesn't seem to be God's job. But some people make more of it, and they are evil to their core and deserve to be damned to Hell on Earth and in the world to come... And some people love and heal the world, who try to make the world have less evil in it. They're good. They're wonderful. They're God on Earth. They're angels." The dichotomy between Maxence's two lives becomes starkly apparent in "Order," and by the end, we're left shocked at how his life will change. It's not all heavy topics here, but to really understand Max, it's worth the trip to Nepal, and back. There's also beauty and love in this part of his life, and we see Dree as possibly the only person in the world who could possibly see, understand, and accept both sides of him. "...the subtle scent of his cologne, which was cinnamon, vanilla, and the secrets that happened in an orange grove at night where no one could see, filled the tent." Gorgeous! Blair doesn't write simple books. She writes glorious, epic tales of love, lost, tragedy, and Happily Ever Afters that take the reader around the world; from dizzying emotional highs to heart-shattering lows. Her Heroes and Heroines are complex, multi-layered people we all desperately wish were real. She takes us on journeys with them in our hearts and minds, feeling as though we've each been granted VIP access to the best show in town. I can't even imagine what will happen in the final book of this series, and perhaps that's the best part? I know I'll be surprised - and in love - with what happens next.

She couldn't have asked for anything farther away from her problems then this. Everything is going great until she discovers she knows another team member.. very intimately. Maxence isn't sure what to think when he finds out Dree is a part of his trip. He thought he would never see her again, but there seems to be a different plan at work here. Once he sees her selfless and generous heart at work, he knows he will never be the same again. Now he years for what he can't have, but is she truly lost to him? Can love show him another path that would be just as fulfilling and yet allow him to keep her by his side? Max and Dree make quite a brilliant and unique pair. They give their whole hearts generosly and with no hesitation to those who simply ask for help. Their growing love for the other is just as powerful and selfless. Yes, they want and desire, but not at the expense of the other. They only seek to empower and assist. What a power couple they could be! Blair has blown my mind and desimated my heart with this new masterpiece! She is a true master and work smith who never fails to enthrall, delight, and enlighten. I pray she never smothers her natural talent for the unique, the captivating, and the raw. Please do not miss out on this blessed work of art that will leave you changed and in awe of the possibilities and hope around all of us.

"Order" is the book that slowly starts peeling away his many, many layers and begins to show the reader Maxence's past, family life and psychological angst and morals. It has been a long time coming and as a huge fan of Blair Babylon's books, I couldn't be more thrilled to learn what drives this extremely complex man. Dree is a NICU prenatal nurse who volunteers with a Catholic missionary group in Nepal in the attempt to hide from criminals wanting to kill her for crimes committed by her murdered ex-boyfriend. Little does Dree know that the "Augustine" with whom she had a highly sex charged 4 days in Paris is really Deacon Father Maxence Grimaldi, leader of the missionary group she is assigned. Unmarried Deacon Fathers must be celebate. She KNOWS this. HE knows this. Yet, the more she gets to know him and he her, their attraction towards one another continues to expand exponentially. Can these two keep their hands to themselves, despite the fact that their hearts and private parts are so in tuned with each other? Time will tell... Again, I find myself waiting with bated breath for the next installment. As Deacon Father Maxence Grimaldi would say, "patience is a virtue". Sadly, I completely lack this moral excellence. I simply cannot wait for the next book in the series "Prince" to be released!

After the last village, they end up rushing a very premature baby to a hospital that has a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, after coming up with a very clever way of keeping the baby warm enough to survive the trip. After the baby is safely delivered to the NICU, Dree kind of breaks down and Maxence suggests that they spend the night there, before returning to the village. After an entire month of denying themselves, Maxence comes to her room, and, they can't stop themselves. The next morning, Dree wakes up alone, and decides to go downstairs to get some food. This is when Dree finds out who Maxence really is, and what he is. Again, Blair has created a story of love, hope and intrigue that will blow your socks off! It does end in a cliff-hanger, so please be aware! Can't wait for book #3!!!!!

When Sister Annunciata called Father Thomas Aquinas, Maxence and Drees path was set in stone. As they embark on their tour of Nepal looking for the best place to build a NICU unit, it becomes apparent there are many obstacles to overcome. As Maxence tells Dree more and more “stories” he reveals a little more of his family’s history every time. Dree initially thinks theses are fanciful stories to help her but as time goes by, she begins to question them. As the story unfolds what stood out to me were the tender and thoughtful moments between Dree and Maxence. Those little bits of vulnerability revealed by Maxence. Holding hands in the night, Max confiding in Dree, making sure Dree ate and carrying Dree around when she became both mentally and emotionally low. My heart broke for Maxence feeling unwanted and abandoned by his family. When Dree went back for Max, letting him know she would not abandon him, I knew then that this couple had seared themselves into my heart. These were the moments that made this book a winner for me, they brought me back to the beginning, to Rae and Wulf, and why I fell in love with this author. In true Blair style the book ended on a spectacular note. We know from the past that Quentin cannot be trusted. I look forward to karma catching up with him, seeing what Blair has in store for his character. So many questions and oh so many months until the next book Prince. I cannot wait for Maxence to become Prince, I know Dree will make an amazing Princess.

With motorcycle rides through the mountains, not enough tents and too many heartbreaking illness to count, Maxence & Dree are in for another exciting experience together on the other side of the world. After parting, expecting never to see each other again, Andrea Catherine shows up at the doorstep of Deacon Father Maxence at the rectory of a Nepal church not more than 48 hours after parting in Paris after their 4 days together. While neither Dree nor Maxence willing to turn around, they will need to work out how they'll survive 6 to 8 weeks traveling into the remote mountain villages in Nepal. Showing her tough and strong nature having grown up on a sheep farm, Dree Clark can definitely hold her own with a bunch of billionaire's roughing it as they camp in the frigid weather. But as the greater nature of the mission becomes apparent, will this cause their feelings change? With mishaps along the way, Max & Dree need to figure out how to keep up the appearance that they are not wildly attracted to each other. With tensions running high, will they both be able to get out of Nepal unscathed? What happens when they realize not everything in Paris was a lie? I received an ARC for a voluntary and honest review.

Actually, the “good works” are to provide mini neonatal set ups to poor villages up and down the Himalayan mountains to save prematurely born babies. The catch would be that the villagers would not have the knowledge or money to actually use them. Besides the fact that the conditions of the country wouldn’t provide enough solar energy or water for the proposed project. Dree and Max and most of the rest of the group find so many other medical needs in the mission. The complications of housing 5 man and one woman in three tents, and keeping warm in increasingly colder temperatures are just a side problem They come up with a better solution to serve the needs of the area that can provide a means of transportation that the villagers could maintain and use to get to a hospital when needed. When they get back to a bigger city, the security chief from Monaco is waiting for Max, things have changed in the month he has been gone. He is so conflicted as to how he can best serve the world to help make it a better place. Hopefully the next phase of his life can bring him happiness and make a difference.

In this book there are so many twists and turns and this book cemented my love for Maxence and the woman who captured his heart Dree. Oh what a tangled web we weave, when we practice to deceive. Through a series of lies and omissions, Dree Clark is shocked to come face to face again with the sinfully hot man she met in Paris, Augustine, in of all places, Nepal. Except here he is better known as Deacon Father Maxence Grimaldi. Maxcence is such a complex man and Shane certainly captured this in his performance. The chemistry that smoulders between them is intense and their connection is deep. I was captivated by this story from the first word to the last. This was a fast paced adventure which had me on the edge of my seat as I listened to this story. Order was well written, witty, nail biting, suspenseful, intriguing and all in all a great book to listen too. I cannot wait for the next book, Prince.

I enjoyed the team’s journey into the wilds of Nepal along with the challenges they encountered to fulfill their mission. It was also terrific to see Dree in her element as an ER nurse practitioner. She was knowledgeable, experienced, compassionate and quick-thinking. When I finished reading this compelling tale, I had several thoughts: First and foremost – I loved it! Secondly, it was a deeper, more profound reading experience than what I was anticipating – which was fantastic! And, thirdly, the next installment – ‘Prince’, cannot come soon enough! The story is well written and the characters are well-defined and convincing. There’s some adventure, danger, conflict and humour along with a range of emotions and a few steamy encounters. I received an Advance Reader Copy and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I have waited for Maxence's story and have yet to be disappointed in what I have gotten of his story so far! I need more now! 😊 Order picks up where Rogue left off and I have to get this out of the way…the books must be read in order and Order ends on a cliffhanger. Like all of Blair’s books, this one caught my attention and held it from beginning to end. Her writing is witty and engaging and the story is suspenseful. There are many very emotional scenes in this book as Dree provides medical assistance to those in need. She sometimes has to deliver bad news and it tears her up. Things finally come out about the stories Maxence and Dree told each other back in Paris. Some things that Maxence feared come true and others don’t. They continue the sexy dance they’ve been playing with each other. I hate to be more specific because I’m afraid that anything I say might be a spoiler. While the ending for Order didn’t seem as shocking to me as the one for Rogue it still left me anxiously waiting for more. I can’t wait for Prince! An advanced copy of this book was provided to me but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author.

As we learn more of Max past and possible future. I enjoyed this book very much and I can not wait for Prince to come out .

He can’t stop thinking of her and the passion they shared. He is just as shocked as Dree, to open his Parrish door, and see her standing there, instead of the male nurse he was expecting! Who would’ve know that the name Andrea, could be pronounced so differently? For Dree, her escape from the drug dealers back home who killed her ex, wasn’t looking good. How did Augustine become Father Maxence? Could she still hide in the remote villages of Nepal, to complete the month mission she’d sign on for? Grab your copy, a coffee and a quiet space to lose yourself in this steamy, dramatic offering from the award winning author, Blair Babylon!

The books both interesting with the insight into rural Nepal, and hot with sexual tension while they both try to keep their hands off of each other. I've really enjoyed reading this book of Max's series, his past is revealed a bit more, his reasons for wanting to become a priest.
