Easy reading Not as enjoyable as the first. Storyline is not bad, characters a little flatter than I’d like, but the errors in the text are annoying and make my review less favourable. Both books I’ve read could do with a good proofread.

I'm a bit sorry to abandon this book because the author is good at plotting, but I can't continue because the writing is so bad. I finished this author's first novel and gave it three stars for the plot, but reading it was a slog though bad grammar. Dalgliesh is a potentially good author in serious need of a strong editor.

I really enjoy the series, because I feel like I can try to guess who is the killer, but the author is not making it very easy. Also I really enjoy the main characters and how they act through the book and their dynamics. Not as hollow as some of those I recently read. The story is captivating, but I wonder why they did not e.g. use the dentist analyses to identify the body, rather than trying to go on other evidence. But I know this may not be for everyone. Overall, I do recommend this book and the series, if you like detective stories.

A good to the first I the series. I enjoyed this as .much as the previous book. It was good to see the development of the characters and didn't give away the the plot of the first in the series as so often happens. Another well written story that, for a nice change, kept me guessing till the end. The main characters are believable with personal issues which don't regret from the story. Looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

Best crime book J M Dalgliesh sets this and other stories in Norfolk which is my home county, I lived there for 52 years and know every nook and cranny so it is great to follow the story route as we go. I have lived in SW France for the last 18yrs so these books take me back home for a while. I love them.

Great read I am definitely a fan. I love this author. As soon as I finish one book I’m straight onto the next. Please make a 7th for the Yorkshire series while I catch up with the Norfolk series. Love the characters, the stories aren’t too disturbing which I like. Sometimes authors can go a little too far but not this one. Give it a go you won’t be unhappy.

Unique Storyline This book has a really good plot with twists and turns which is what I like in a mystery. The personal relationships of the main characters is well done and interesting, adding to the enjoyment.

Quite a chore this one, half way in before the enthusiasm began. A rather convoluted ending. Stll not sure what resolution there was. Not one of my favorites. But there will be more no doubt. Not so sure about characters. Seem disjointed to me.

I like this series , the characters are interesting and are being revealed as the series progresses. The plots are good and while they may be described as a little cosy the stories entertain and hold the reader . I look forward to hearing more of Tom Janssen and Tamara Greave .
