I am pretty amazed with what this author can do with what is basically a rehash or the same plot device. In spite of that each of the books are stand alones and the heroes are the types of men that any woman with a pulse would want in their lives. The heroines too are not the TSTL types and each have their own distinct selves and are not waiting for a man to save them. That's great news since that type of woman would surely be left in the dust with any of these Alpha males. This compilation of the TDD2 is comprised of Harvard's Education It Came Upon a Midnight Clear The Admiral's Bride and Identity Unknown Of the four my favorite was the Admiral's Bride because of the heroine who is totally kick ass and the hero is drool worthy but much older Admiral Jake Robinson. I loved the was that Zoe did not care about the age difference and that the author did not treat the character of Jake as if he needed his nightly "blue" pill in order to get the girl. Also outstanding was that by reading It Came Upon a Midnight Clear we see first hand Jake's backstory. I still have TDD 3 to go but I need a break from all this testosterone.

Harvard's Education: I enjoyed this story so much I ended up reading it twice :) There's just something about the Senior Chief's. Harvard & P.J. were a great couple, and it was interesting to see H struggle to come around to P.J.'s way of thinking. It Came Upon a Midnight Clear: Crash & Nell ... what a story. As heartbreaking as Daisy & Jake's story was, it was a great catalyst for Crash & Nell. The Admiral's Bride: OK ... I LOVED this one. Jake & Zoe ... wow, what great chemistry. While I'm not a huge fan of the May/September romances, this one was really great. Identity: Unknown.: I liked this one, but it wasn't my favorite in this series. I think it was Becca that I wasn't a huge fan of. I really like Shaw though.

Read this book years ago. I am a big fan of Suzanne Brockmann and with her new book out in days I thought I would revisit the series prior to Troubleshooters. Pleased to say that they are still a good read even after all this time although it seems odd in 2017 that pagers were more common back in the th 1990's than cell phones. Read this book years ago. Overall, a fun series, but some stories are stronger and more affecting than others. And some require a pretty healthy suspension of disbelief - rescuing your girlfriend with a whole team of SEALs in a Blackhawk, in the suburbs, anyone?
