Unattainable. That’s what he is. Thirteen years my senior, my uncle’s best friend, and my father’s business partner. The man could not be any more untouchable if he lived on the moon itself. William Hawthorne has haunted my dreams for the better part of my teenage years. Coming in like a dark knight on the most tragic of days, he swooped in and quietly guided me back to sa Unattainable. That’s what he is. Thirteen years my senior, my uncle’s best friend, and my father’s business partner. The man could not be any more untouchable if he lived on the moon itself. William Hawthorne has haunted my dreams for the better part of my teenage years. Coming in like a dark knight on the most tragic of days, he swooped in and quietly guided me back to sanity, offering me the support I so desperately needed. Over the years I’ve done my best to stay away, recognizing he is utterly off-limits. And avoiding him has worked… until now. A series of events have landed me on his doorstep. Literally. I’m both the nanny and his charge, making it practically impossible to stay away. Closing the distance to my new home, I remind myself of what I know to be true. Life is cruel and its penchant for torturing me hasn’t changed. It seems the sins of my past have finally come to bite me in the ass, and keeping my secrets will now be harder than ever. I try to swallow around the ball of emotions stuck in my throat but it’s useless. Letting William see me, the real me—all battered and broken inside, pining after a love I cannot have—is not an option. As the front door swings open I give myself one last warning. But I have to wonder, will it be enough?

With the death of her mother, Bella's father has kind of checked out, tasking her with the responsibility of the household and twin brothers. Considering she's only 18, she seems to take it all in stride. So adding an additional babysitting gig to the load shouldn't be problematic, except that the baby daddy does wonders for her libido... "Why? Why does my body want someone so completely off-limits?" William shouldn't be lusting after his friends/business partner's daughter. Especially one 13 years his junior. Fortunately he can control his urges around his new nanny, or so he thinks. "The more I think about it, the more it seems okay to have just one taste... just one sweet dip into her delicious honey and I’ll be over whatever this is." Although the intention of keeping Bella at arm's length becomes void when her safety is threatened. Not questioning his instincts in wanting to keep her safe, these two find themselves living in very close proximity. Like either of these two needed further temptation. And once William realises that her perfection is a cover for the pain she carries, he can't ignore his desire to help her in all aspects. "You think you need atonement, little girl? Let me be your salvation." I lick up Bella’s neck, watching goosebumps rise in my wake. "I'll give you your redemption—" I whisper into her ear, taking the lobe into my mouth and releasing it with a pop. "—one orgasm—" I hover my lips above hers. "—at a time." As a debut novel, this was seriously good. This author's writing seemed effortless and easy to read and enjoy. The character building and side characters were perfect in tantalising us for the next book in this series which I'm really looking forward to.

The Act of Atonement is the first book that I have read by Eleanor Aldrick, and I am pleasantly surprised. Such a great debut. On fire, forbidden and fast read. She now has to step in to help raise her brothers. Isabella, wise beyond her years, is now asked to babysit Williams, daughter. She now has to step in to help raise her brothers. Isabella, wise beyond her years, is now asked to babysit Williams, daughter. After his wife up and left them both. I truly admired Isabella. William is hot, Isabella's father's business partner, and her Uncles best friend. He hasn't seen Bella in some time and is instantly attracted to her and surprised to see how much she has matured since Bella’s mother passing. But sees her for who she is and not what father wants her to be. There are so many secrets and such suspense. As much as Williams fights to keep his distance, he keeps feeling drawn to Isabella. He gave me such whiplash, and at times, I was yelling at William. My concern about this book is we know Isabella has guilt over her mother’s death; we see she who she handles it; I just expect more in the depth of that area. Does that make sense? I am trying not to give away any spoilers. I did enjoy their story and do recommend this book and look forward to the next book in the series.

While reading this, the one word that came to mind was cute. It’s a cute book. If you’re looking for some light reading that has an age gap with some naughty sex scenes look no further because this right here could be a winner for you! I’m giving this a 3.5 ⭐️

Bella has had a crush on William for as long as she remembers, and the second her father tells her he needs help with his 1 year old daughter she agrees to help him. So the second William sees Bella he gets under her spell. I don't know about you all, but love from first sight is NOT MY THING AT ALL!! I think you at least need to get to know the person before you fall in love with them. I know what you're gonna say, he knows her she is his best friend's niece and blah blah, but this is the first time he sees her as a woman. So now that she has grown a pair of boobs he feels like he wants her?? 😑. This was so sooo terrible and i kinda feel bad for saying it, but there's no sugar coating whatever this is. Every interaction between them was awkward and lame and tasteless, i literally felt nothing while reading, like NOTHING. Their conversations made no sense, they'll be talking about something and the next second they talk about something completely different. It's like the author can't make up her mind. I thing iv'e said everything that needs to be said. I really tired to give it a chance, but i just couldn't take it anymore it was utter nonsense. I did not finish this book, obviously. And one last thing, I DO NOT recommend it. I might give this author another chance since this is her first book, i'm willing to read the next book and hopefully i'll be better than this one.

4.5 stars! Fast-paced, Feisty & Forbidden! *self-purchased on Amazon. No need of sugar daddies called promo teams* What’s this book about? (I'm trying to give as little spoilers as possible) William is her uncle’s best friend. He works closely with her dad. He’s not the man she should have a crush on. This is my first Eleanor Aldrick read. This is also her debut. I met Eleanor on Instagram and I remember her clearly telling me to be honest with her if I ever read her book. LET ME START BY SAYING THAT THIS IS A WONDERFUL DEBUT. I read it in one sitting. It was fast-paced and definitely entertaining. There was lots of drama development and in the end, a lot of things went down. It was a lovely introduction to the universe of the Men of WRATH! Dangerous, sexy and fun! However, there were also emotional moments that had me rooting for the characters. They went through a lot in this first story. Isabella carries her family on her back, one could say. She has so many responsibilities and she was so grown-up for a person of her age. I admired her and I rooted for her. Her back and forth with William was amusing. William… He’s such a sassy hero! I loved him. His predicament is unfortunate, but I love a man like him. One that does everything he can to protect his family! That’s so admirable. The only criticism I would have for this book is that at times some of the romantic scenes came across as mechanical. That’s all. Outside of that, I was super satisfied with this story. I recommend this to lovers of age gap romance, strong heroines and hot dads. Instagram Facebook Goodreads Bookbub Amazon

I don’t usually read age gap romance, but I’m very glad I came across this one. William and Isabella have a relationship that goes deep. They’ve known each other forever. He’s her dad’s business partner, her uncle’s best friend. But when these two get together, the fireworks explode off the page, regardless of how deep their history runs. When William is need of a nanny for his daughter, Harper (I think she is 1??), his best friend and co-worker offers up his 18 year old daughter, Isabella aka Bella, to take care of Harper for the summer. Since she is taking care of her six year old twin brothers they both figure how hard would it be for an 18 year old to also take care of a toddler? Men. Bella has had a crush on William for as long as she can remember so while it will be awkward she is eager to help because is just the best baby ever. But of course the more time they spend together the harder it is for both to deny how their attraction and feelings. I had such high hopes for this book. Age gap/daddy's best friend is one of my favorite tropes but this one was just awful and I feel terrible for saying that. Every single interaction between William and Bella seemed awkward and contrived. Nothing felt natural or organic. I felt nothing - I didn't get any sense of their feelings for each other. These two were all over the place in their communications and inner dialogues. I was getting whiplash from all of their bouncing around with their thoughts. Bella was supposed to be this hard girl who had gone through so much trauma and felt that she didn't deserve love so she didn't do relationships or put her heart on the line ever but William comes along and she is very weak and passive. And then William was supposed to be this bad ass, CEO - security expert, alpha but that was also a miss. He was just as weak as Bella was. And what kind of a security expert takes months to find out his ex-wife is crazy and colluding with others to take him and Bella down? It was extremely lame for extended drama's sake. You could have still had the drama and excitement of a thriller but everything was just lame in my opinion. I think I understood what the author was trying to convey/portray with these characters but it was a big miss. I saw all the little hints she left for the next books but I won't be reading them.

Eleanor really knows how to raise the heat! *wipes sweat* Love Love Love! the supporting characters, and the other aspects to the plot, I really got an angsty thriller vibe and Eleanor really raised the temperature on suspense. I was torn between the rating for this book...William didn’t put much thought into moving in on his best-friend’s daughter. I felt like there should have been more resistance on his side, given he’s been friends with her dad for so many years. Other than that, this was beautifully written.

What a great debut novel. I was drawn to this with the age gap factor, and it didn't disappoint. The romance aspect was hot and steamy, the alpha older male with the younger lady, although the fmc wasn't innocent by any stretch. She had been forced to grow up and mature faster due to circumstances in her life. Even though it was a lil insta love, it didn't annoy me as much as this tends to, I think both the characters having known each other for a few years helped in that situation. I have to start reading 1 star reviews because I don’t know if I can trust 4 and 5 stars anymore. Holy mother of God this was BOOOORING! Kinda like a Wattpad story written by a teen girl who’s about to explore her sexuality for the first time. Their interactions were very cringeworthy and awkward.

Eleanor Aldrick did a great job on this story. Acts of Atonement had a strong well written plot. The story was filled with many emotions. I absolutely loved the characters in this book, both main and secondary, and Eleanor did an amazing job drawing you into the storyline from the get go. Our MFC Isabella (Bella) is a strong, independent and feisty young lady. She is wise beyond her years and learnt from a very young age that life can change in the blink of an eye. One minute she was a normal happy teenage, doing whatever a 15 year old teenage girl does, and the next her life was turned upside down with the death of her mother. By the time she turned 18, Bella has had the life and emotional experiences of a woman ten years her senior. When we meet Bella she is a very organised and mature young lady taking care of her twin brothers, running the household and getting ready to go to college after the summer break. William is a really great guy, the perfect book boyfriend/husband. He’s such a kind and caring man who really loves his baby daughter. We meet Will when he discovers that his wife has walked out on their short marriage, relinquishing all her parental rights for their daughter, and leaving Will in a bind trying to find a nanny to look after his daughter while he is at work. And that’s as much as I’m going say about the storyline. What I will say is that the book is told from duel POVs. It’s action packed and full of drama, with enough twists and turns to keep you interested and invested in the book. Eleanor does a great job with her character and world building. The dialogue between the characters is witty and quite funny at times, and I especially loved the dialogue between Bella and her BFF Cassie. They are truly great friends and always have each other’s back. Do yourself a huge favour and read this book. You will absolutely love it.

Really the story pulls you and it flies. Isabella lost her mother to a car accident on the same night she was confronted with her mother’s own flaw and after a fight with her. The guilt of that night and the loss of her mother weigh heavily on her. Her father is present physically but is unavailable emotionally. Isabela transforms her self into the perfect student and daughter, never letting anyone she her faulter. She steps in to help raise her young twin brothers. Isabella is once again being asked to help babysit William’s daughter. After his wife up and left them both. Isabella had a strengthen and calm about her. You can only see the cracks in her façade when she is letting her heart truly feel. William 13 years older than Isabella, her father's business partner, and her Uncle’s best friend. William is a man in his prime, a playboy who recently married after finding out one of his hook ups was pregnant. Upon Bella showing up to his house to assist with the care of his 1-year old daughter, William is instantly attracted to her and surprised to see how much she has matured since their last encounter. There is so much to this story, more than just overcoming the age gap and being happy together. There are forces working against that are far outside the relationship. Williams fights to keep his distance; he keeps feeling drawn to Isabella. He gave me such whiplash, and at times I wanted to throat punch him! There are some character issues with Bella, however given her age and life she has led to that point some of it was understandable. I do wish we had seen more growth from Bella’s character. The plot makes sense and moves along at good pace with plenty of angst. This is a wild ride and I highly recommend it.

Received ARC from BookSprout for Honest Review. This one is definitely gonna be a hard one to Rate, cause I kept teeter tottering throughout the book. It was hard for me to ‘zone’ into though, I think it was mainly because the writing does seem a bit slow moving(?) but not time wise, and as a good portion of the conversations are a bit...simple(?) as well as in some places it’s too weirdly ‘advanced’. I hope future characters though...don’t wink as much or hopefully they just don’t wink at all...it did get old pretty fast, pretty much by the second one sadly. The timing and placement and in general just having it in there made it weird (to me). I couldn’t connect with Isabella, and I do believe that at her age, the >things< she’s ‘done’ in the past but after the accident... (to me) and it’s MY opinion, felt a bit far fetched and didn’t add up. If she was as bad as she leads me to believe, I’m not too thrilled she was around the kids (all 3), and disappointed that her father never saw even a ‘glimpse’ of a sign. If I wasn’t already aware of her age, I would’ve thought she was much older, which isn’t a good thing if your lead female is ‘young’.

I loved this book so much! It checked so many boxes for me. ✔️ The age gap trope is one that I cannot get enough of. ✔️ Bella is amazing. She’s young but quite mature for her age. I love her interactions with her brothers and William’s daughter. And who can blame her for being so into William for such a long time, because... ✔️ William is swoon-city material! 😍 I wanted to jump into the book and take Bella’s place (well, not really haha. I quite liked Bella and they were so good together.) ✔️ Some q I loved this book so much! Eleanor knocked it out of the park!

I was so excited to get this Arc in my inbox! Eleanor knocked this out of the park! As a romance reader, I found this book extremely refreshing. Yes there is a romance at the center of the story, but it is surrounded by complex family drama and shocking twists. So much that I even found myself audibly gasping at unexpected plot twists The love scenes were hott! Cant wait to see if the next installments will get even steamier!!! It took a while to get into this story, it took some serious attention to stay into this story and took forever to finish the story. I liked book 1 better!

My first Eleanor book and will definitely not be the end. It starts out strong and builds into an unforgettable suspense filled romance. Bella has been through too much in her young life. William might be older and forbidden because of who he's associated with but these two are the completion of the other. This one does take your emotions on a rocket ride. You feel a closeness to the characters and want to see those who the enemy be gone. DNF This was so disappointing. It reads like it was written by a teenager and reminded me of my younger days when I used to read those cheesy novels on wattpad with no plot and depth whatsoever.
