    * I received a free eARC from the publisher via Netgalley. The opinions in this review are my own. This was SO cute! I'm not a cat mom but I do have a dog. While he doesn't climb on tables and whatnot a lot of these situations still rang true for me! Animals are so attuned to their owners and it really shows. They have a playful side and a roughhousing side. I will never forget a few situations my dog got me in and will forever cry laughing at them. This book felt like the author was reminiscing about when she got her kitty and all the funny situations that came with that decision. I loved that the comics were in full color and the art style was clean and relaxing to look at/read through.

ARC provided by Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. I think any cat lover/owner will love this book. Although I don't have a cat myself I found a lot of it to be very relatable based on stories I've heard from cat owners. The art was cute and full of life, and each comic strip was packed with cute, relatable, and punny jokes. It's a fast paced read and overall enjoyable but nothing outstanding. *I got this eARC from Netgalley in exchange of an honest review* 2.85⭐ I don't know what made me pick this book up. It might just be the desperation to add something to my read list. I could read this book really quick. It was a decent book. It featured everyday problems and stuff that cat owners face. The artwork was fairly attractive and catchy. Some instances made me chuckle, though. It was a good read. *I got this eARC from Netgalley in exchange of an honest review* 2.85⭐ I don't know what made me pick this book up. *Acquired through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review* This was really cute! Frankie Comics is a comic collection written by Rachel Dukes about themself, their spouse, but mostly their shared cat: Frankie. This is a fun cat comic book for those who love cats. It's pretty similar to another that I read recently and it didn't do a whole lot for me even though I do love our family cats and appreciate cat humor. Cute comics, sweet story line, predictable cat stuff (peeing on things, not wanting a bath, being worth it, etc.). I requested an ARC of this book so my 8 year-old daughter could read it and weigh in too since she likes those types, but the format wouldn't let me put it on my kindle for her so This is a fun cat comic book for those who love cats. Another cat lovers comic. This one has a higher level of drawing than those usually do. The art was colorful and well done, after that well it all depend on how much you like cat, the humor was okay, but that was really light and not really for me even if I still do believe it will please some reader.

This is cute. Very cute, and very cat like. Not a surprise, just an observation. All the cat shredding, all the cat barfing, all the cat peeing that cats do, all included. Lovers of cats will love this book. People who don't love cats will probably not get it. Do I recommend it? Sure, as a cat lover. Most others would find it a bit repetitive. In this full color cat-extravaganza, we meet Frankie, an adorable cat doing its cat thing. Rachel Dukes brings us into their everyday life and struggles as a cat owner. This comic doubles as encouragement to adopt a cat and to not believe the myths that revolve around them. Going In Expectations Going into Frankie Comics, I wasn’t expecting much. I was thinking it would be a cute comic about the day in the life of a cat owner, and that’s exactly what I happened to get… plus more. Raves & Critiques Let’s start with the illustrations. Top notch. I’ll definitely be seeking out more work by Rachel Dukes, just for their drawing style alone. They clearly have a great sense of humor, so they make well-rounded comics, but their drawing style is fabulous! It’s very cartoon-y, but has just enough detail to not feel childish. I also want to talk about the representation for a second here. The main character, which I presume to be Rachel, doesn’t look like most comic characters I’ve been seeing, which is a breath of fresh air. There’s a couple of pages that show armpit hair and non-shaved legs, as well as this amazing haircut, which I wish I could pull off. I loved that this comic normalized this, rather than circulated around it… if that makes sense. This comic was about Frankie and I loved that Frankie’s humans were considered secondary characters. I don’t know if this is necessarily a spoiler, but beware of this paragraph, just in case. There’s a segment where Rachel finds themself dealing with sleep paralysis. I’ve never personally had it, but I’ve talked to a few people who have. They describe it as terrifying, while Rachel’s experience seems more tedious than scary. I would want to know if Rachel suffers with sleep paralysis and has tedious experiences with it, because I would find that very interesting. Frankie Comics is written as a series of individual segments, rather than a chronological story. Sometimes these types of comics throw me off because I’m a sucker for story-driven comics, but I really loved this style and it possesses a powerful message! At the end of the comic, Rachel talks about taking care of a cat and where to adopt one. She mentions cat cafes, which I had no idea were a thing. Google them and I am sure you have some near you! I had five near me and I had no clue. Ultimately, I think Rachel’s core message is to show people that cats aren’t these aloof creatures who don’t care about you. They show affection and deserve to be adopted. Reason for Rating ~ Should You Read It? Frankie Comics is an adorable comic about showing love for cats. It’s been recommended that every cat owner read this, and I agree! It reminds me of Rascal, which is another comic about a cat done in a similar style. I recommend this for fans of light and humorous comics, regardless if you’re a cat owner or not. It’s relatable even if you know someone with a cat. It’s a super quick read (I read it in forty minutes and I was going slow), so it’s perfect for a before-bed pick-me-up.

I love my dog, I really do but I think she needs a friend. This is a very cute, all-ages comic starring a couple and their adorable and mischievous cat Frankie. I absolutely loved reading Frankie Comics. It’s centred around a couple who stumble upon a stray cat that snuggles its way into their home and hearts. It’s cute and colourful and such an all round wholesome read. There were so many things that made it enjoyable; its artwork, an adorable cat that could steal the heart of any cat lover, body hair positivity (um… yes!), the odd pop culture reference (I live for these!!) and a warm sense of humour mixed in with a bunch of hijinx. Cute and relatable - especially for cat owner. Frankie gets into all kinds of feline shenanigans and her two loving owners play along. Jumping on the table, stealing hair ties, puking everywhere, chasing mice, etc. The graphics are good (although it's weird that the cat has no nose or whiskers) but each of the short comic series (they all are 2 to 4 pages long) are only so so. They aren't laugh out loud funny or ground breaking - they are just cute and okay. It's not a collection I'd read again Cute and relatable - especially for cat owner.
