I look forward to seeing where this goes Cody, a waitress and part-time student, waits on Alex, a ranch hand from her hometown, when he comes looking for her. As the story progresses fortune takes a turn for the worse, a return trip is agreed to, and wading through the emotions of the past are not as easy as they seem. This first volume of Millie Landry’s The Second Chance Cowgirl, lays plenty of groundwork for the rest of the serial. Reader be advised that this is only one portion of the story that is laid out in multiple parts, so there will be cliff hanger endings until the final volume. I received a free copy of the book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.

This is a good start to a story. This isn't a completed book though. There should be a note somewhere about this ending in a cliff-hanger. I will say that for a new author, the writing was great. The story here flowed nicely. I did enjoy the dual POV format that the book is written in. It really helps me to identify with the characters. This should be interesting. I just hoped that the author had complied the story into one nice novella length. I really do not do cliff-hangers. This is a good start to a story. This isn't a completed book though. Disappointing I would only recommend this book to people who enjoy reading cliffhangers with no promise of a sequel. Don't get me wrong the writing is well done. The storyline intriguing but you're left without knowing what happened. There's a rift in the family...why? The patriot wants to make amends...for what? Why is there so much antagonism between the siblings? Don't hold your breath waiting for answers. There are none forthcoming. Too short, it only introduces you to the characters and their problems. This kind of "have a taste and have to pay for the next taste " series really pisses me off. If you are selling a sample, call it that, don't tell me it's a book when it is not complete, and you expect to troll me along for two or three more "books" for me to see the whole story. I am not a child to think less than an hour of reading is a whole book when the story has obviously just begging to unfold. Too short, it only introduces you to the characters and their problems. Return to the past. Cody loses her job as a waitress the same day as Alex come to town to ask her to come home to see her step father that is dying. Unfortunately, this is just a few chapters of her story and you have to have five different books to find out the ending which is very disappointing to me.

Nothing, it just stopped. Was it supposed to end just like that? No closure with family. Not sure what to say. No stars. Wish I had not started the book. Waste of time. No more words.

Good read This is one of those books you can tell what is going to happen next but it is a good book anyway. One thing that gets to me though is having a book just get started then be over leaving everything up in the air.

A good story. It is well-written, and the storyline is interesting and catching. Although I’m not very fan of cliff-hangers, I have to say that this story intrigued me enough to want to know what there is behind these characters. Looking forward to reading the second part.

Sweet short story but a cliffhanger. Cody is asked to go see her dying stepfather, she doesn't want to, but maybe closing that painful past will bring her some peace. Crap Another stupid teaser with just enough story to trap you into buying the next part. No happening now or ever. Author's name goes on my never buy list.
