If looks could kill, I’d be a charred pile of ash on the sidewalk. I need to know why she hates me. Bay Bishop aka The New Girl is my new neighbor. In her glasses and stage crew black clothes she has a knack for fading into the background. She’s probably the only one who rolls her eyes when I walk past instead of cheering on my last touchdown play. 5 Stars! ... The art of football and music. Finally, I've found another one of those few stories that takes place during high school that I ended up loving. No bullshit and stressful drama. No immature characters. No overly familiar plotline. This was much more original than what I thought it would be. The emotions on the surface were overwhelming, in a good way. Finally, I've found another one of those few stories that takes place during high school that I ended up loving. No bullshit and stressful drama. No immature characters. No overly familiar plotline. This was much more original than what I thought it would be. The emotions on the surface were overwhelming, in a good way. I sensed sweetness, love, pleasure, pain, hatred, and all the other feelings that I can't put into words. I felt the main characters soul deep connection and attraction for one another. I had already expected since the beginning that this would be an emotional and angsty ride, I was armored heart and mind, but, surprisingly, the story still shredded me into pieces. Note: This is a high school, sports romance. "I closed my eyes, pulling together the frayed edges of the blanket of my mind and cocooning myself in the musical beauty, blocking out everything except for the music and Dare." The Art of Falling for You is the first book in the Falling trilogy. Dare was a popular football player who wasn't dealt an easy life. Getting accepted in his college application and leaving his terrible home life were his main priorities. Bay, on the other hand, had her own struggles. She was known as "The New Girl" from the day she first met Dare and remained socially invisible ever since. Bay expressed her feelings in writing songs and singing. But when she'd lost someone she loved, she also lost her ability to sing without remembering the pain of her past. "Maybe I could force him to feel the way he made me feel." Their story had begun four years ago, when Dare saw her singing in her backyard. He saw the real her who carried the same grief, pain, and loneliness. Being together, though secretly, both helped them to heal. Dare gave her the strength to sing, and hearing Bay sang gave him the sense of peace and hopefulness. It had brought them together, but it was also what separated them apart. The story has the element of slow burn that made it more interesting and engaging. It warmed my heart and broke it at the same time seeing them denying the pull they had toward each other because of the anticipation of hurting themselves when they eventually went on with their own lives. "She was my heart. Watching her leave would be like cutting it out and letting it out in the world walking around without me." This book wasn't all emotional, y'all know. It also has the sweetest moments, angsty moments, swoon-worthy moments, and the hottest moments that I think you won't want to miss. Well, I don't have anything to say about this book that I didn't like. What can I say? I have yet to read a book by Maya Hughes that I don't enjoy. I loved her writing. I loved her stories. I loved her characters, especially her unlikely paired characters that she always manage to develop and connect so well, internally and externally. Overall, I absolutely loved the book. It was such an amazing start and I want more of Dare and Bay. Bring on the next one! I highly recommend this to those who likes: Maya Hughes, high school, sports, slow burn, friends to lovers, enemies to lovers, second chance, emotional read, and a cliffhanger. "I wasn’t intrigued. I wasn’t infatuated. I was in love."

This book. I’m a 100% sure that this is my favourite book by Maya Hughes to date. I’ve enjoyed her books from Fulton U and so I had certain expectations of her writing style etc. But wow...this one blew out of the water. I’m still reeling from the impact I felt when I hit 100%. I started this book completely blind and so I’ll provide a bit of a summary in case you are too. This story takes place in a small-town neighbourhood and stars the two main characters, Bay and Dare. They’re neighbours who have been attending the same school for three years yet have never spoken to each other albeit living side by side. This is a story of how two lost souls find solace in each other and not going to lie, I shed a tear here and there. The story starts off with a surprise reconciliation between the two characters. It’s four years later and Bay and Dare finally meet each other again. It continues with a flashback to four years before and to be honest, I was not expecting the entire story to be a flashback. I assumed the flashback would last for a few chapters, but still I found myself enjoying reading their history. Bay is literally the biggest sweetheart I swear she hasn’t done anything wrong in life. She’s definitely my favourite female MC by the author to date. She’s an introvert who just wants to mind her own business and do what she loves most...until she and her neighbour finally exchange a few words. Although she mostly keeps to herself, she has a snarky side to her and it comes out when she’s around her best friend and of course, Dare. After a certain incident enters Dare who’s determined to say something to Bay and get to know her better. From the beginning, we have an idea of his life but not entirely the full picture, so he was quite an enigma to me. However you could tell he’s been harbouring things and there’s a lot more than meets the eye to him. Now let’s talk about their interactions. I am so obsessed with them? There’s just something about popular and not-so popular characters living right next to each other and I love that trope to death. The idea of seeing them in school and even when you’re at home because they live not even a block away from you is *chef’s kiss*. Bay and Dare have such a beautiful relationship. With all that’s happening in their lives, they become each other’s anchor and pillar of support. I literally couldn’t stop flipping the pages because I was rooting for them. I don’t think I have anything negative to say, really, because I loved this book so much. I’m kind of sad that it ends in a cliffhanger because I wasn’t expecting that and thought the conflict would be resolved by the end. Nonetheless, I’m definitely excited for the sequel and I can’t wait to read more of Bay and Dare’s story <3 I’m assuming it will take place in the present from there onwards. Also as a final note...the ending...Maya Hughes you absolute genius. i really should’ve seen it coming but in my defence, like i said, i totally went into this blind. very grateful though <3333 * original review: MY GOD...ALL THIS TIME...THE ENDING IM LITERALLY SPEECHLESS AND I NEVER CONNECTED THE DOTS RIGHT UNTIL I SAW IT?!/!;&3!;&3!;&3!;&: LITERALLY MY FAVOURITE BOOK FROM MAYA HUGHES TO DATE REVIEW TO COME SOON WHEN I’VE CALMED DOWN

Honestly, this book took me by surprise, I was waiting for a sweet and cute romance like in Maya´s previous books, and even if this book is all of those things it's also very angsty, which made me love it even more. The Art of Falling For You is the first installment of three, and Bay and Dare already own my heart, I just want to give them big hugs :( Bay and Dare have been attending the same high school for the past three years and also happen to be neighbors, but despite living so close to each other, they never spoke or noticed each other... until Bay's guitar and singing reach Dare's ears. With only a few months left until graduation, they are both ready to leave this town and start a new chapter of their lives, but entering into each other's lives will make them wish for more time together. I'm a big fan of Maya Hughes's work and I still think about LJ and Marisa every day, so I was very excited to dive into this trilogy. I went in completely blind and it was such a nice surprise! It took me some chapters to get into the story, but then I was fully invested in Bay and Dare's story and completely fell in love with them. The first chapter starts in the present with Bay and Dare seeing each other for the first time in four years. The rest of the book is set in the past and gives a better insight into the beginning of their relationship. At first, I didn't expect the "past part" to last the whole book, but it was more interesting, and it wouldn't have felt the same with only a few flashback chapters. As I said, I loved the main characters A LOT, their story even made me shed some tears, and I'm very VERY curious to know what will happen next for Bay and Dare, especially after THAT ending!!! Courtesy of Dare, Bay has been known as the new girl for three years, but she doesn't care. She is minding her own business and is determined to follow her dreams and follow in her late father's steps. She is an introvert, but she is not afraid to stand up for herself and stays alert when Dare takes an interest in her. On the outside, Dare appears to be the popular jock of the school, but after a few chapters, the label is debunked. He remains an enigma for most of the book, but you understand that he suffers a lot. The more time he spends with Bay, the more he forgets his problems and feels that everything is going to be okay. So Dare is determined to prove to Bay that he is serious about her. Bay and Dare were so precious together. They are both lost souls, and it was beautiful to read that they had found peace and comfort in each other. I love the way their relationship evolved and the way they were in their little bubble every time they were together, like Bay playing guitar and singing for Dare, and Dare drawing Bay!! My precious babies <3 They also sort of served the shy girl/popular guy trope, and god knows I'm a sucker for this trope. The ending broke my heart, and I can't wait to know how they are going to reconnect, and also what happened to them after high school. Also, Maya Hughes is a genius!!! It took me a few chapters to connect all the dots, but I still freaked out when I read the last two words of the book. I usually don't like books that end with a cliffhanger, but this is worth it, and I'm so excited up for what's next!! Arc kindly provided by the author in exchange for an honest review

You can really empathize with their struggles, but overall they had a sweet romance. Of course it wasn't an easy start for them and Bay especially wasn't as trusting of that connection but they worked through that and eventually became very close. Like I said, this was the start to their story and there is definitely a lot more to come from Bay and Dare which I'm dying for. I'm not usually a cliffhanger reader and usually avoid trilogies but I'm a big fan of Maya Hughes and knew it would be worth the read. ARC kindly provided in exchange for an honest review.

This is going to be the longest-winded get-to-point review I've written in a long time. Bear with me - it'll make sense. Maya Hughes, in my opinion, writes accessible young adult/ new adult romance. Those who run in the same reading group circles know that I tend to shy away from the genre as a 'more' mature adult. Bear with me - it'll make sense. Maya Hughes, in my opinion, writes accessible young adult/ new adult romance. Those who run in the same reading group circles know that I tend to shy away from the genre as a 'more' mature adult. I often find I cannot relate or maybe they remind me too much of the kids. LOL However, Maya has a storytelling voice that makes these characters accessible regardless of your age that you can relate to and engage in your journey. With that said... The trilogy is frickin' bloody brilliant. Seriously this is the best Maya Hughes has ever written. Yes, this is Bay and Dare's love story. It is a (view spoiler)[ second chance which those who have followed me know it's my catnip. (hide spoiler)] I love finding out how two souls meet and find each other as the story unfolds. It's the overcoming of the obstacles that I love to read. My second truth is I'm not usually a fan of the trilogy format. I am now the child of instant gratification and want it all now. Yet, this story could not be told in one sitting. There is so much to be said and their journey takes the course over the books it needs. There is something that the reader needs to experience to enjoy this epic love tale. Now to book 1 - Things I loved: - We get this fabulously written back story. We get to know these two imperfect characters on a deeper level. Not just love and lust - but what experiences shaped them. - You need this story of how they met, their personal obstacles because...later. - It's the opposites attract but in a hundred times is the perfect person for the other. - This is first love. That butterflies, this person is my world story. Until it is not. - You need to hold onto these characters as they were to see how they will be. - Piper and Knox, Bay's mom, all these wonderful side characters bring depth to the story of the primary characters. Seeing the MCs through their eyes. - Did I say this is frickin' brilliant writing? Things to consider: - This is a rant for the back row readers so pay attention: This is a trilogy. Falling books 1, 2, and 3. This is a trilogy story of a single couple arc love story told in three books. This means there will be the dreaded 'cliffhanger'. Whether it be a minor 6" step or a major Mt Everest size cliff, that is the nature of a trilogy. If you decided to wait until all three books are out, you do you. But this is a no-fly zone for whining and complaining. Y'all be waiting 4 weeks - I had to wait months. So there you go rant over. - Your heart will hurt in different ways for the main characters. But the pain needs to exist for the characters to grow. If you haven't gathered, I had the opportunity to beta read this trilogy. Note I am a member of Maya's team, but my reviews come from the heart. I know what readers are going to experience so it is difficult not to let the experience of the whole color the review words of book one. So, I'll stop here with - My recommendation: Buy It

This first book opens up to the love story between Dare and Bay, taking us to the past four years before the events in the present take place. At the beginning of the book, we are currently in the present when Dare and Bay meet each other surprisingly after four year of the events that took place in the past. Right before this, almost the entirety of the rest of the book is dedicated to Dare and Bay’s last year of high school, and how they meet and get to know each other. The love story between these two characters starts suddenly when Dare hears Bay singing while playing the guitar in her yard, this happens because the both of them have been neighbours for some time. While it is true that they have been in the same high school for three years, it is only now that Dare takes an interest in getting to know Bay after he starts feeling a connection with her though her music. As for the characters, Dare and Bay are very opposite when it comes to personalities, but they find a connection between each other as they spend more time together, getting to know one another and opening up about their fears, dreams and struggles. On the one hand, we have Bay who is struggling with her social status in high school since she has been known as “the new girl” for three years now, trying at the same time to deal with the grief of losing her father to a sudden death and to maintain the connection she has with him when it comes to music. On the other hand, we have Dare who is trying to get a signing deal in order to play football in college, struggling each day to survive in a house that only brings him bitter memories of his father’s abuse. I have to say that this book was a total surprise for me since I went into it without any idea of what would happen, but at the same time I had my theories of what it would be about. It is true that I did not expect the book to be mainly based in the past, but I think it was crucial in order for the other books to make sense, and for us readers to have all the details of Dare and Bay’s story. I also wanted to point out that I always find comfort in Maya’s writing, I think that her style is really easy to read and follow and keep the reader interested thought the book without feeling like the chapters are too long. Finally, I enjoyed both Dare and Bay as characters, they were very endearing in the beginning. But, I have to say that I did not fully understand the continuous push and pull that they had between each other since they both admitted to be interested in pursuing a relationship. While it is true that they are teenagers and they may act like it most of the time, I did not understand how they continued to hesitate around each other so much since it was clear that they meant a great deal to each other. So, I really cannot wait to see what the other two books brings for the two of them and their relationship. *ARC kindly provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.

The Art of Falling For You is the first installment in a new Maya Hughes trilogy, bringing all the angst and feels of a high school first love that is very likely to break your heart and then put it back together again (in the next books bc there's only pain here in case you need to know). Something I love about this book is how the story is told with them meeting again, and then going back to the beginning of their story to introduce these characters and how their love story began in their senior year of high school. Both Bay and Dare are living a secret life, sneaking around, but it's only a few months before they can be free and leave this town that holds such bad memories behind. But it only took Dare to hear his neighbor sing that their lives would be intertwined forever, and all those plans to go away and leave everything behind become more complicated. These characters were amazing as a couple and individually. They both have a lot of emotional baggage, which caused many fears to creep into their relationship sometimes making things difficult for them. Keeping in mind that Dare and Bay are teenagers, there was a lot of push and pull here, and also a bit of the miscommunication trope, which I hope will lead us to see how their relationship will grow from there, and also make them grow as people. Overall, this book DESTROYED ME and I wasn't expecting this from a high school romance, but it was so angsty it hit really hard! I really can't wait for the next installments to see what these characters have been up to this time apart, how much they have grown, and how everything is going to work out. Dare is a character that has been under our noses for a while and was eager to know his story, and Bay had me from the get-go, so they are firmly making their way as another of my favorite Maya couples 💘! He was the epitome of the boy from the other side of the tracks, only instead of a motorcycle, he drove a muscle car. Dare shocked me in numerous ways; he isn’t just bold or confident. Behind the initial surface of the loved and revered footballer, there's an incredible human, a shattered man underneath. He is full of intense complexities and formidable strengths and unfathomable intricacies weaved together to create my next favourite book boyfriend. “I wish you could feel the way your songs make me feel. It’s like you’ve cracked open my chest and you’re holding my heart in your hands.” Even though they have immeasurable attributes as individual characters, Bay and Dare together are explosive and wondrous. I adored the scenes that featured them together; the chemistry between them is earnest and sincere; the connection a fervent slow burn that electrified my entire core, that encouraged me to develop an unwavering need to have more of them. It was delightfully enchanting watching them evolve together. The Art of Falling For You is such a stellar introduction to this familiar but different world featuring hot, irresistible footballers; slow burn, second chance romance; and the most delectable, electrified encounters between Bay and Dare. I usually stay far away from trilogies as they tend to be long-winded, but the Falling series has hooked me in—I can’t wait to witness the remainder of their heart wrenching journey. After reading this story I actually had to give myself a day to process the masterpiece that I had just read. Maya has really out done herself with this book, I can’t imagine what’s waiting for us with the rest of the trilogy. I went into this book with no expectations what so ever, I knew it was a ‘boy next door’ trope but other then that I knew nothing. A little summary- The Art of Falling For You is the first instalment of the falling trilogy, I don’t want to give to much away but the start and end of this story are perfection, we are given little glimpses of the Dare and Bay’s present situation, which is not what you would expect. Then the rest of the book takes place 4 years in the past, where we meet Bay and Dare, both living in a small town, where football is the law. They have lived next door to each other for 3 years and have never exchanged words. It’s not until there’s that one certain moment that happens in the book, where they finally start to notice each other. I think that’s what made me love this story so much, it gave me the back story that I needed and made the anticipation for the next two books that much more exciting. Bay is hands down my new favourite female character, honestly she is just wow. Everything about her makes me want to be her friend. She likes to keep to herself but when you know her, Bay has a lot of personality. She is feisty, sassy, always true to herself, is open and honest no matter what. Dare, was a massive surprise for me. He is someone who I appreciate reading and yes, quickly became one of my new favourite characters. There is a lot more to him then you think, even though you piece his life together there is always that little dash of mystery that stays with him. What I loved most about Dare is his thoughts, his way of thinking, the control he tries manage. I’m not entirely sure why, but he absolutely fascinated me. Bay and Dare’s interactions are probably my favourite I have read to date. Their connection!! The way it came across was so different from what I have read from this author before, it felt so strong to me. Even though they have lived next door to each other for 3 years, they seem to have entered each others lives at the perfect time. Their relationship is beautiful, with everything that they go through, both Bay and Dare become each other’s rocks, the support they give one another is like nothing they have had in their lives before and they deserve it so much, finally. The climax to this book was massive, you feel it build and build so intensity throughout their story but you are completely unsure of what’s going to happen. The first chapter of the book really set up the excitement for the rest of the book, for me at least anyway! Those last two words of this story got me so good! I just can’t believe I had no idea the whole time I was reading it, I tell myself it’s because I was too wrapped up with loving the book. But daaaamn, I was left speechless and it shocked the hell out of me, in the best way 😉 Anyway wrapping up this extremely long rambled on review, I would 100% recommend this book/ trilogy to everyone! I have always been a huge fan of Maya Hughes writing but she has definitely changed it up a bit for this one and it has really paid off! The Art of Falling For You is an absolute masterpiece, Bay and Dare will complete win over you hearts! *arc proved for an honestly review* - *original review* If I could give this book a million stars, I would without even hesitating. I’m speechless, I don’t even know the words to say, that would give this the justice that it deserves. THAT ENDING THOUGH, I just can’t even deal.

The Art of Falling For You tells the story of Dare & Bay, and it follows them while they are in high school. At the beginning of the book, we are given little glimpses of their current situation, just before returning 4 years ago, where Dare and Bay are neighbours who have been attending the same school for three years but have never spoken a word to each other. Dare has never noticed Bay, until one night, where things changes. Bay is known as the TNG (The New Girl) even though she has been in the school for three years. She's a sweet, loving girl with the biggest heart. Bay just wants to mind her own business, she low-key wants to be invisible, doesn't want to stand out. I love how t as the book goes on Bay starts letting go and, we get to know her better. You end up loving her as you watch her grows as a person, becoming a strong, resilient and determined woman. Dare who seems to be the typical cocky and popular football player, is actually a strong and, incredible character that hides so much pain. He has been having a hard time, he's worried about his future and I have to say that my heart was aching for Dare, all I wanted to do was to hug and protect him. Once Dare notices Bay, she's not sure how she's going to handle him. But when they are finally together, everything starts making sense. I loved to see how their relationship was developed and how both characters grow individually and as a couple too. I really appreciate that Maya gave us this book to get to know them better, and I'm glad we got to see how Bay subconscious started trusting and relying on Dare, and how she started to open up. I just adore this girl so much. The last few chapters of the book broke me and, I'm not exaggerating. I find it hard to explain how much Dare and Bay's story impacted me, and how much I love both of them, as a couple and individual characters. I'm so proud of both of them even tho the ending killed me. Dare didn't know how to act and now things got difficult. I didn't see that final twist coming, and now I'm here waiting for the next book. The Art of Falling For You is a book full of angst, emotions and heartbreak. Probably one of my favourite books written by Maya, alongside TFTC. I fell in love with Dare and Bay, and I can't wait to read more of these two.

Both character’s personalities might be different in certain aspects but I think the things that they do seem to have the same is the strong emotions they have within them and how in some cases it ends up building them or slowly breaking them apart. I think it really helps that from now on it’s all about what happens after and how the characters carry on from the moments that they went through. I can’t wait for what’s to come in the series!! With a great start like this book I just know Maya Hughes has more up her sleeve with these two characters, and their journey sure will be a wild one with many emotions to go around.

Bay is a strong and fierce girl with a passion for music. Dare is actually quite a swoony character with the way he courts Bay and makes her know he's interested in her. Not once did he doubt the fact that he loved Bay, but he did doubt whether he was worthy of her love. This book left me feeling absolutely stunned. Maya’s new novel has impressed me. Her writing style and her characteristic touch to the characters was present in this novel. I’m a big fan of her novels, and after reading other novels from her, I was so excited to see what she had being creating. Bay and Dare are two characters that are very different from each other, but at the same time, they have many things in common, my favorite one being that they both are artists. They have such a special connection that little by little, developed into such a precious relationship where they found comfort in each other. Overall, I truly enjoyed the book; it took me a while to start reading it, but once I connected with the characters, I was totally invested in them and their lives. I was especially shocked with the ending, but I love that she left it in such a cliffhanger because I cannot wait for The Sin of Kissing You! *ARC kindly provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.

Dare was this strong guy who had one goal: get a scholarship, get out of his house, and go pro. Little did he know that Bay was going to alter his course. Seeing him open up like he had never before was amazing. This story left off on a cliffhanger essentially, and I am eager to get my hands on their next book. Maya Hughes delivered yet again with these two and im so excited (and nervous) to see how their story plays out in the next two books.

Let me start by saying, I have always been a fan of Maya Hughes' work. She is one of the very few authors that produces such profound work, so I gladly pick up her work without even reading a blurb; The Art of Falling For You for instance. I had no clue as what to expect, and I mean that in the literal sense. Heck, I didn't even know the characters names. What I did know? That this was the first book in a trilogy and to be brutally honest, I am not the trilogy girl. 99/100x I refuse to even read Let me start by saying, I have always been a fan of Maya Hughes' work. I had no clue as what to expect, and I mean that in the literal sense. Heck, I didn't even know the characters names. What I did know? That this was the first book in a trilogy and to be brutally honest, I am not the trilogy girl. 99/100x I refuse to even read them because I hate the wait to finally get a conclusion to a story that was drug on for what seemed like forever. In my opinion, most authors tend to over compensate when completing a trilogy, and I don't have time for that, but that is not what I am here to go on and on about. Actually my point of stating that is to again, reiterate that this author is talented and that is why I gladly picked it up. The Art of Falling For You is the unexpected read, that I didn't even know I needed. As always, Hughes' writing was sensational. I was captivated from the very beginning, and I never strayed from this storyline. In fact for the first time in my life, I completely forgot I was reading the first part of the trilogy and I never one time was making assumptions on what was going to happen next because I was so emotionally invested into these characters. The attention to detail that Hughes showcased, reached a place inside of me that I didn't even know I had. The Art Of Falling For You was crafted by some great world building, and the originality did not go unnoticed either. This book has depth, and I mean DEEP DEPTH, that left my heart in tatters. At times I felt like my heart was bleeding out. The character development, and character growth was astounding. It was almost like peeling an onion back to get to each layer but to me, each layer was even better than the last. In my opinion, The Art of Falling For You is almost like a slow burn, but a slow burn that was well rounded. It made the buildup and the chemistry insanely special. When the time came for more, my heart was pounding in my chest, and the authenticity behind the feelings, is something you see few and far between. I was completely spellbound for the Hero and Heroine. When it came down to the ending, my jaw was to the floor. I would have never guessed things would have played out the way they did, and I can not wait to see the how and the why as to why it ended the way it did. Now I am left begging this author to do back to back releases so I can get my answers. ** I RECOMMEND THIS BOOK ~ Ashley Instagram: http://bit.ly/RftHInstagram Facebook: http://bit.ly/RftHFacebook Twitter: http://bit.ly/RftHTwitter Bookbub: http://bit.ly/RftHBookBub Goodreads: http://bit.ly/RftHGoodreads MeWe: http://bit.ly/RfthBlogMeWe

He has never paid any attention to the girl next door yet he can't help but seek her out after hearing her soulful music one night. This book had me absolutely hooked from the beginning. I'm always drawn to Maya's seamlessly sweet and charming love stories. Her characters are always special. I adored Bay. She is talented and sassy, always true to herself. Dare was quite a surprising character. He is chivalrous and loving, always willing to help others. At the same time, he can be very closed off and mysterious because of his trauma with abuse. I simply cannot express how much Dare had an impact on me. His character was complex and beautiful. He is hands-down one of the best-written characters of Maya's. The chemistry between these two was palpable. My heart tightened with all the cuteness. I'm seriously obsessed with Dare and Bay. I could not stop smiling throughout. Every interaction filled me with warmth and I loved the depth of the characters and how they explored their emotions and anxieties with one another. Maya gets me every single time. I would read anything she writes. This is easily one of my best reads ever. Additionally, I genuinely think this novel is her most quality written book. I'm blown away, I cannot praise it enough. Maya writes her books with such affection and care. Her stories fill you with so much joy and comfort. A definite must-read! *ARC kindly provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.

Bay is known as the "The New Girl" despite being in the school for three years. She is a loving daughter and works at a music studio, hoping to one day follow in her father's footsteps. On the other hand, Dare is the complete opposite. He runs with the popular crowd at school, playing on the school's football team. Dare has never noticed Bay. That is until one night, he hears her playing the guitar and singing. I really liked how Maya chose to make this book about Dare and Bay's foundation. Truthfully, at the start, I wasn't really into this type of formating. Usually, authors would choose to show their characters' history through flashbacks scattered throughout the book. But here, we are shown the complete past of how Dare and Bay began and their progression without interruptions. What didn't make this a five star for me was that I found the ending was rushed. There were events that took place nearing the end that I felt were supposed to have more meaning and impact on Dare and Bay's relationship, but it just lacked that effect because the book was closing into the "end". Therefore it just made me feel like it was, in a way, ingenuine... Overall, I did really enjoy this book and am greatly honoured to have been able to read this as my first ARC review. I'm looking forward to reading the following installments in this trilogy, to see more of how Dare and Bay are and how Maya plans to conclude their story.

I am already counting down the days until I can get my hands on the next book. I am ready for these two to fight their way back to a happily ever after!

Can I just say that I loved Bay? With that said, can I also say THAT OMG THOSE LAST TWO WORDS!? How did I not realize what I was reading sooner? So, this book is the first of this trilogy and it gives the back story of our main characters, Bay and Dare. I went in completely blind and I got hooked right after I finished the first chapter. We get a glimpse of the present and then we are thrown right into their past and I really liked to see how their story started. Having this background story mak Can I just say that I loved Bay? Having this background story makes that last part that much more emotional. So yeah, my heart broke in that last chapter when I finally put the pieces together. I can't stop thinking about that ending and I just can´t wait to read the next book. I need to see what happens next. I loved Maya's writing and the way she developed these characters. I totally recommend this, especially if you have read and liked the Fulton U series. If you haven't read those you totally should. *Arc kindly provided by the author in exchange for an honest review*

If you love high school & sports romance books then this new series is for you. It follows Bay (The New Girl) who likes to fade into the background and Dare the popular footballer. Dare catches Bay singing one day and that’s the start of such a sweet love story but their time is running out until they graduate and move away to University. This book was INCREDIBLE! I’m so excited to read the rest of the Falling series! Bay and Dare own my whole heart and I’m so excited to read more of their story If you love high school & sports romance books then this new series is for you. A new opposites attract/YA romance by MH which isn't at all YA but the back story of neighbors/classmates Dare and Bay. This will be a trilogy, so we get Bay and Dare's past sprinkled with the present. Dare, a football player, popular, loveable but there is so much hiding behind the helmet. Emotional and quite heartbreaking, actually, I felt that for the both of them. Bay has been dubbed "The New Girl", she's quiet, likes to blend in the crowd and not be seen, but Dare definite sees her. It did start a little slow for me but once I got into it, I could not put it down! I'm interested to know how these two will get their happy every after. The boom I felt in my heart at the tail end, I CANNOT WAIT for more!
