Her disabilities would be acceptable in our society of today and her husband, Diego would probably be run out of town by the Real Housewives of “Cheaters.” Frida came with a lot of baggage in her life starting when she was only six years old and even more baggage piled on when she was in high school. Her suffering was more than anyone can imagine but she kept her head held high and forged her way forward. Inside you’ll read about Frida’s Birth and Family Frida and Diego Begin Their Life Together Diego’s First Fight with Penile Cancer Frida’s Lovers Frida Was Rotten to the Core A Lifetime of Frida’s Creations A Medical Doctor’s Perspective on Frida And much more! If Frida had not had a unibrow, waxed her upper lip, and shaved under her arms, she may have appeared more feminine than she did, and it may have given her more self-confidence. She never gave herself a chance because she felt it was her job to be the boy in the family.

I absolutely love Frida. While this book added some things I didn’t know, I was disappointed in format among other things. The author took the initial standpoint of Frida and Diego were both ugly so why did they have so many lovers. Many of the points made in the book lean towards that standpoint. It pretty much made Frida out to be a liar who exaggerated her pain and injuries to get the attention of others. While there might be some truth to he having Münchausen syndrome, this short book in no I absolutely love Frida. While there might be some truth to he having Münchausen syndrome, this short book in no way can prove any of what the author suggests. The format of the book is sentences or short paragraphs separated as complete thoughts however, many of them are repetitive and not necessary. It almost seems like the author is just trying to fill the pages with the only information they researched.

Interesting Interesting but it could have benefited from including some stills of the various subjects mentioned in the history. I imagine her paintings are all under copyright restrictions but there must but photographs available. It might enlivened the book and put faces to the characters, which would have been helpful to those unfamiliar with her. Her physical appearance is noted several times throughout in a very disparaging way and comes across as a bit catty in nature. Negative Opinion Piece I felt like I was reviewing a high schooler’s report on a historical figure, where the writer had no choice on their subject. Author would write a few facts, then follow up with juvenile criticisms and/or add negatively biased suppositions.

Terribly Written While the subject matter is n interesting read, it was presented horribly. Seems more like an outline rather than her entire life story.

Frieda I feel this book leaves with more questions than answers in Freida's life and work. It says that the author researched her life but I just don't see that. I liked learning about Kahlo. I didn’t like how it was written and how the author inserted their sexist opinions.
