If you are not into mechanic and love at first sight, adorable, sweet, so very little angst, fast pace moving in a relationship and a strong promise of a HEA, this book is not for you. Once in a while, I like reading about this kind of relationship, and the author didn't disappoint me at all. Recommended, especially for Men of Hidden Creek's fans.

When Mason rescues Rhys from the side of the road, he never expects to meet the love of his life. They fall in love fast, but it just feels right to both of them. I enjoyed this. The story flows well, the characters are both likable, and I like that there’s no relationship drama. It starts as a fling, since Rhys is just passing through, but they both agree what they have is special and decide to find a way to stay together. *ARC received for review

I enjoyed the romance and the rethinking of the business in this book. Both heroes are really kind and the town gets a staring role here. We get to see them fall in love and I believe in that love. What is weird is the role of the loan officer of the bank. It makes no sense that he would call as often as he does and check up on the auto shop owner. I just felt this whole subplot should have been edited away. Then, I read a review that pointed that the surname of the banker was Jewish and then this I enjoyed the romance and the rethinking of the business in this book. I’m a sucker for a Ex-Marine and one with a heart of gold is a win for me! This story is a touching gay first time/gay for you story and I loved the interactions and eventual coming together of Mason and Rhys. I liked how J Hayden Bailey approached the personalities of Mason and Rhys. They are both so different but each have similarities and many things in common. They were both felt lost, alone and like they didn’t belong anywhere until they found each other. Mason is such a kind and generous man introduced as an LGBTQ ally and does what he can to help the people of Hidden Creek while trying to keep his new mechanic shop afloat. He ‘saves’ Rhys when is vintage red Impala breaks down and is drawn to him for reasons he doesn’t yet understand. The author does so well in getting the varying and occasionally complex emotions across and while there’s a lot of miscommunication and a bit of will they or won’t they at play it is never too drawn out. Add in some passion, laughter, a violent ex-employee, a vivacious teen and a cute cat named Socket and you have an awesome story with a wonderful HEA. This is a story of finding your person; the person who inspires you, makes you better, protects you and loves you for who you are. A wonderful read set over Christmas and has given me a great taste of Hidden Creek and I look forward to reading more about the Men of Hidden Creek and will be watching author J Hayden Bailey as I can see many more great stories to come. Extra note: I love Lily she’s a great secondary character and adds a little bit of spunk to the story. Thanks for reading 📚!

The two easily develop a friendship and with so many LGBT+ couples around, Mason asks Rhys for guidance on the new community emerging in Hidden Creek and possibly within himself. The two men together work so well together. It's easy to feel the two growing closer throughout the story. It's a fun read as well as getting you involved with what both men having going on in their lives. We have characters from the previous Hidden Creek series as well as the current books. They are easy friendships that give fun, support and a shove in the right direction when needed. This is my first book from J. Hayden Bailey but it definitely won't be my last. I was drawn in from the first page, invested in the outcome for the MC's and generally really enjoyed the story! Plus I'm a sucker for ex military stories :-) I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.

I preface this by saying I liked this, and thought it the best so far in the season. So at first it felt a little bit like "but something about X made me feel Y". Which I find to be...lazy. "Something about Rhys made Mason feel warm". "Something about the farmers market put Rhys at ease". It's always something non-specific, and I all imagine when I read it is the author being unable to come up with literally anything to say about why people feel the way they do about things. Which is unrealistic. I preface this by saying I liked this, and thought it the best so far in the season. So at first it felt a little bit like "but something about X made me feel Y". It's always something non-specific, and I all imagine when I read it is the author being unable to come up with literally anything to say about why people feel the way they do about things. Which is unrealistic. People don't feel things for no reason. Sometimes they actively avoid the reasoning for what they feel, or they deceive themselves about the true reasoning. But there is always a reason. **MINOR SPOILERS AHEAD** Anyways, luckily, that doesn't really persist in the places it matters. This book was good. I felt the connection between Mason and Rhys from early on. It was based on mutual interest, and they spent a lot of time talking and making a real connection outside of something nebulous and non-specific. The relationship developed quickly, but naturally. Usually, when a couple falls in love over the course of a week, and makes huge sweeping life-changing decisions after knowing each other a handful of days, I find it irritating. Only in instances where it actually feels like they've known each other forever, and the connection between them is well done, does it not actually bother me. Here, I wasn't at all bothered. It made sense to me that Rhys would stay in Hidden Creek with Mason and try to make his way there where they could be together. I liked the characters. Rhys and Mason were both good people, they were kind and considerate and generous. Mason almost to a fault. And Rhys was like a fairy godmother swooping in and helping Mason grow his business. I found them to be adorable, and compatible. A well done couple. So, the plot and characters were good. However, the writing was not great. Which doesn't make or break a book for me necessarily. It was serviceable, and if I got into the plot enough the bad writing drifted to the background. Still, at points it could be stilted and awkward. All in all, so far the best in the series I've read (reading them in order).

The story was really appealing to me, so I decided to give this a try. Mason is an ex-Marine, now running an auto repair shop. Rhys, a graduate student, who is on his way home to work in the family business. When Rhys car breaks down, Mason tows it and offers a place to stay for Rhys while waiting for the spare parts for the repair. Logically, this book had a lot to offer and could have been really good. However, it was rather "meh" than "wow". Good enough to keep me reading, but at the same time ofte The story was really appealing to me, so I decided to give this a try. However, it was rather "meh" than "wow". Good enough to keep me reading, but at the same time often making me cringe. Rhys acted so strangely, behaving like a 7-year-old most of the time, before going all business-like and clever an instant later. The side characters were ridiculous, so "black and white" it was (almost) funny. Imagine 3 guys showing up for an interview, 1 a moron, 1 an idiot and the 3rd, a (lesbian) girl, funny-clever-kind- in one word, a saint. Yeah, the 2 guys were not right for the job, I got that message loud and clear... It was just too much, dear author, you don`t really need a sledgehammer to get the info through! I guess this was Mrs. Haydens first book and it was not all bad. She had some nice and funny ideas and a good plot. However, the writing needs some improvement. Please bring in some color. Not everything and everyone is either perfect or a complete douche and please let your main characters grow up if they are 23 they shouldn`t act as if they were just out of high (or even elementary) school! Also, give them a little more time, everything was too fast here, from Masons realization of maybe being gay to being completely in love, this didn`t feel genuine. All in all, for me that was an okay novel from an author that might be worth checking out in the future. 3 stars

These two are great characters that have their own problems, but so much to offer each other and themselves. Mason opens himself to a love that he never thought of before and finds something that he has been missing. I received an ARC of this from LesCourt Author Services. Friends become more here which is one of my favorite types of books. Mason is discovering who he is with each page, while Rhys comes to realize that he can make his own path to happiness. Can't wait for the next. I voluntarily reviewed an 'Advance Author’s Copy' of this book. Awesome add to the series. This is a great book. I could not put itdown. These characters are endearing, interesting, and believable. Ienjoyed getting to know them and follow along on the journey to each other. This is a new author and I certainly can’t wait to read more from them. Each book in this series may be read as a stand-alone. There may be appearances from familiar faces and mentions of events that may have occurred in another book.

Such a sweet story. Mason and Rhys were such easy characters to love. Both Men were beautiful in nature, body and soul. So when they get to know each other, it’s easy to see the wonderful connection they build together. And by building that connection, Rhys gets to share Masons milestones with him as he discovers who he truly wants to be. A great read with so much love and happy times 💖

Wonderful! This was my first read from this author. I enjoyed every minute of it. Just loved Rhys and Mason. What a great way they met. Wonderful storyline, full of sweet moments. It was great to see Rhys come out of his shell with the attention and care from Mason. Looking forward to the next Men of Hidden Creek book.

This story is an absolute delight! I loved how Rhys and Mason fit with each other from the very first instant. And how Rhys overcomes his insecurities living in Hidden Creek and being with Mason. J Hayden Bailey is a new author, but her writing fits right in with the Hidden Creek authors crew!

Milestone! It was okay. Just okay. I loved the characters. I laughed along with them, but I felt I could have been more moved. I could have been reduced to tears with the storyline, but it just wasn't fulfilled to it's fullest. Milestone! It was okay. Just okay. I loved the characters. Such a sweet read. These two guys were such a delight to read. I knew right away what was up with Sprocket. Hidden Creek is such a special town. The perfect place to fall in love. I did feel like there were parts that seemed a little rushed. The ending was exactly what I wanted.

Very cute, mindless, quick read. Stunningly goodlooking guy falls for less stunning guy. There are cats, a bad guy who’s not too bad (more a jerk than evil), Chinese food, hospitals and a happy ending. The parents are funny and very well described. Quite fun really.
