Amosdoll advertises this book at the end of each of his videos, and since he is a phenomenal piano player and the book was only $7, I thought I'd give it a try. In the end, I'm not sure if it was worth all $7, but since he's a self-made artist I feel the money was well-spent anyway. This book is great if you're someone who wants to play piano by ear - whether you've been taking classical lessons for years, or whether you just got that fancy new keyboard in today. In the end, I'm not sure if it was worth all $7, but since he's a self-made artist I feel the money was well-spent anyway. This book is great if you're someone who wants to play piano by ear - whether you've been taking classical lessons for years, or whether you just got that fancy new keyboard in today. The real difference is in how long you've been playing by ear, or trying to. If you've never played by ear in your life, this book is fantastic. However, if you're like me and grew up playing around with scales and chords, you may find it a rehashing of stuff you've already figured out on your own. On the whole, I don't feel like I've wasted money. Amosdoll offers some refreshing new tips that I wouldn't have come up with by myself, and I think they'll go a long way in getting me familiar with intervals. What I've really taken away from this book, though, is that I need to go learn my scales and my arpeggios if I want to sound professional - yes, what they say in Aristocats is true - and those are skills this ebook does not teach. TLDR: This may be below your skill level if you've played by ear for awhile. If not, by all means check it out. And check out Amosdoll's YouTube channel; he is very good.
