Deliciously Sweet!! Let me start by saying I have not read any of the series that these characters belong to but I will definitely read them now!! I'm a sucker for a cookbook so when I saw that this was a cookbook yet it would have memories about the characters in the other series, I knew I had to read it. The recipes and the memories went together flawlessly. I haven't cooked one yet but I will be cooking those stuffed peppers soon! I truly enjoyed this book. 5 Stars from Reviews By Reds. I like this cookbook very much, it would have had 5 stars if it had had just a little color on the food pictures. But, nonetheless, I found 41 recipes I want to serve my family. Good homespun recipes. I have been trying to find that exact recipe for scalloped corn! My grandma made it like that and I love it. Thanks to goodreads giveaways for sending me this book, yummy, yummy! I also really liked the stories of her family, especially the one about her sons "crucifying" the youngest one on the clothesline pole, because they were doing the Bible study lesson. Lol as a mother I fully relate to her stories. Two of my girls decided to roast marshmallows in the living room. They made a campfire in a metal cookie tin. Nothing real serious happened, but they did melt a hole through the carpet. Thank god for throw rugs teehee!

Book received from Goodreads Giveaways. This cookbook is a tie in with this author's Coalson family in her Tempered Steel series. I have to admit I haven't read the series yet though I do have the first book. I'm interested in the series because I know the area of Illinois she's writing about. My family is from a town southeast of Grafton, Illinois where the story is set. I loved the recipes in this book. Many of them reminded me of the food my grandmothers cooked in my childhood. No matter if you a fan of The Tempered Steel series or not, this cookbook will fit anyone cookbook shelf. Maggie Adams not only gives you recipes, she also gives a glimpse of characters in the series, how cool is that! There are appetizers, soups, salads, bread and baking, side dishes, breakfast favorites, main dishes, chicken, pork, seafood, and dessert. There is pasta, stews, canning recipes, Chinese, home-style favorites and much more. There are some images, but not images for every recipe. I recommend this cookbook for any cook or baker.

I love this not only do I get awesome recipes to try I get little stories off and on through it. I think my favorite story is the one that a certain little boy was taking jewelry to school to trade the girls for kisses. This makes you want to read the stories all over again since now you have these little tidbits that adds just a little more to their backgrounds.
