You know who doesn't love Fiona? Harambe. Cuz he's gone now. And nobody wants to read a kid's book about him. You know who doesn't love Fiona? Harambe. Cuz he's gone now. And nobody wants to read a kid's book about him.

Of course, it gets 5 stars. Adorable.

Aw, Fiona! As a Cincinnati resident and fan of our amazing zoo, Fiona's journey has been an inspiring and triumphant one to follow! She's just the cutest thing. Even though I've never seen her (it was too cold when we visited recently for Festival of Lights), I've been a fan. This picture book was a birthday gift from my mom and dad (my daughters gave them the heads up that I might enjoy this book - they know me well!), and it's a gem. If you want your child hooked by Fiona's story of survival, buy this book. Jan Sherbin has penned the story of Fiona in kid-friendly language that engages young readers at every turn. She connects Fiona's experience as a medically fragile preemie to human experiences of development. The photographs and layout are beautiful, underscoring the caring relationships Fiona enjoys with the Cincinnati Zoo staff. Who doesn't love little Fiona! The sweet preemie hippo who stole our hearts in late January 2017, now has her own book, retelling her own story. Full of biographical information, this adorable tale also provides little ones with practical, innovative (age appropriate) methods of how zookeepers may be able to save the life of a hippo born incredibly too soon. #TeamFiona!! This is such a great book on what has happened with Fiona. We live in Dayton so we have been following Fiona story since birth and visit her a few times a year! Reading this with my kids was very eye opening to them and made them love Fiona even more.

Charming photo log and story about my favorite sentient being in Cincinnati! Fiona!

Once again anything with this little hippo in it is fantastic. As someone who used to work there, I particularly love things having to do with the Cincinnati Zoo.

Absolutely adorable and life affirming!! A complete delight for my kids AND for me.

A great look at all that Fiona the hippo has overcome! Great pictures!

Okay, so I'm in love with Fiona. This book depicts her incredible journey from a really underweight preemie to the amazing, adorable, thriving hippo that she is today! I think I have read all of the books currently available about Fiona. This one has photos I have never seen before! Text is okay, but not great. However, the chronological order of some of the photos is slightly amiss. This bothers me, probably too much, but it's a FACTUAL book aimed mostly at children, so it's important to get these details right. Overall, I still say the best book is the one from the Cincinnati Zoo, Saving Fiona: The Story of the World’s Most Famous Baby Hippo. If you read only ONE Fiona book (a sad prospect, indeed), that should be it. But this one is decent, and I do like the 9" x 12" trim size. Hoorah!

How could I give this anything less than five stars? Fiona’s story of struggle and survival, of resilience and persistence, is a great one for kids. And the photos are too adorable for words.
