Imagine FINALLY making the changes you've been meaning to make, looking back, and thinking "Wow. It wasn't as hard as I thought it'd be" Two-time bestselling author and TEDx speaker Ayodeji Awosika details the process of how he went from a dead-end life to tripling his income and building a business around his passions. In You 2.0, the author provides concrete steps you can take to become the person you were meant to be, including end-of-chapter exercises and routines that will help you finally follow through with your personal transformation. Instead of vague ideas like "believe!" or "write down your goals" the book shows you how to dive deep into the reason why you're stuck, so you have the clarity you need to change. In this book you’ll learn: The hidden psychological barriers that keep you from changing (and how to destroy them) Why goal setting doesn’t work (and what you should do instead) The two words that determine the quality of your life (plus a little trick to dramatically increase your self-confidence) Why finding your passion is a waste of time (and what you should do instead) The key ingredients to change that helped me quit smoking, lose 20 lbs., publish two books, and triple my income (with no willpower required) How the world's most successful artists and entrepreneurs overcome their fear and start projects they love How millions are taking advantage of the new economy (and how you can too) Each chapter of the book ends with key takeaways and exercises to help you apply what you learned. Who should read this book? Anybody who is ready to change their life and to work for it. So often in today’s society, we are looking for the “quick fix.” We want to get rich quick, or lose 50 pounds overnight, and the fact of the matter is that just doesn’t happen. Those things take hard work and dedication. The author of this book gets that. What I really enjoyed about this book was the author’s honesty. Those things take hard work and dedication. The author of this book gets that. What I really enjoyed about this book was the author’s honesty. I didn’t feel like this was a difficult read or that it was necessarily thought provoking, however, I did put it down a couple of times and just take a couple of breaths to think about what I had read. I also really appreciated that the book ended with a chapter that served as a call to action, and you could definitely tell that the writer got his start as an online blogger (which is meant to be encouraging to you on pursuing your goals!). I appreciated it because it said, the book is over and it is time for you to implement everything, but when you hit a setback come back to the book. Re-read what helped you get started in the book, and move forward once again. I really identified with this as somebody who has had setbacks in pursuing my dreams, and there was one chapter that I read twice. I spent almost as long with that one chapter as I did reading the rest of the book. I would highly suggest this book as a personal development read if you are ready to put in the work. If you aren’t ready, I do not think this book is going to motivate you to become ready. However, I do think that for those who are ready this book is going to fuel you to continue to move forward. I was in a great place when I started this book, and I feel like I am in a better place now that I have finished it. This reminded me that there is always room for improvement. I was reminded that working hard towards a goal daily will always pay off in the end, but the end is not necessarily right now. I have been hovering between four and five stars for my review of this book simply because I do not think it was the best personal development book I have read this year. However, it was extremely far from the worst. I have settled on five stars after writing this entire review, but I want to be honest about how I feel in this regard.

I have read dozens of self-help books but I am always on the look out for new ones that give me another insight. Usually I find the same messages but in this book there were quite a few concepts that hit home. Maybe I had heard them before but the writing is so straight up and compelling they really hit home this time. I quite enjoyed this. The journaling questions are thoughtful and pretty useful, and Awosika's writing is personable and highly readable. Nice addition having a link to downloadable worksheets if you prefer to use those rather than writing in a notebook. My favorite takeaways: Forgive myself for everything I've done prior to now Don't wait to be picked. I quite enjoyed this. I picked this book up because it mentions reinventing yourself - as CEO of Rooted Reinvention, it seemed I should take a look. The author speaks from personal experience, and came across as genuinely sharing his experiences.  I don't agree with everything he says, and some of the ideas may come across as easier said than done. As always I have real issues with the "it takes 66 days to make a habit" that is supposedly based on research... As always I have real issues with the "it takes 66 days to make a habit" that is supposedly based on research... (The problem with having a Masters in Cognitive Neuroscience is I know the limitations of that research) But the prompts, downloadable examples, and general principles are useful. But as a guide to personal reinvention, it covers all the basics techniques I'd recommend. Again, it's not a field guide for when you get stuck and 'how to' do each step in much detail, but for those people looking for a place to start, I'd say it's definitely a good place to start Especially comparing it with other self-help books, I'd say this had a more thorough blueprint and also acknowledged some of the difficulties readers may come up against too.

Inspiration based in reality! First - this book can help people of any age get out of ‘thinking about’ to ‘actually implementing’ change. I am trying to re-invent myself at the age of 70- after two successful careers. I have been reading many articles to help me pick a new passion- or use my former passions in a new manner. I found myself copying quotes from this book in every chapter. Mr. Awosika gives sound advice that holds true - no matter what your current age or career level. Inspiring and motivating musings about life If you are a self-improvement junkie like I am, you have probably read tons of books with good ideas but implemented few of them. This book provides ideas about how to change and set your life up for success, using himself and his ongoing change experiments as examples. He ends each chapter with questions to ask yourself and do to apply the information. I definitely will implement things he suggested and come back to this book time and again.

I found this book in Kindle Unlimited, and this is a a truly sincere, easy-to-read self-help book. I personally do not prefer self-help books that compile so many scientific studies. I liked how Awosika speaks from experience and offers thought-provoking questions at the end of the chapters. I am inspired and motivated by reading his sincere insights on life and success.

A true gem of a find! Breezed through the book in just over 5 hours, will be using the many different chapters as future reference points whenever the need for them arises. Lots of valuable lessons and insights that can be gained from this gem of a book. A literary gift for the mind that keeps on giving indeed!

Right from the heart Very well written story with some compelling insights. Liked the authentic style, touches the right chords. The concept of killing one's past version is interesting.
