This is a nice historical look at the history of the Black Widow, but it was dry and not as comprehensive or insightful as a lesson of Geek History Lesson. That said, I loved being able to see how Natasha and comics have evolved over time through the pages and pages of artwork. Really what saves this book is all the incredible artwork, whole pages and covers from over the years. Even if you don't want to read the text, just go through this book and read the captions. The Black Widow is my favorite Avenger, but what I know of her character comes solely from Margaret Stohl's books, the films and the comics from about 1999 forward. I knew nothing of her early history, so this book was highly enjoyable because it explored her character from it's beginning in the comics till almost the present day. Watching the development, and evolution of a favorite character, through art and words, is always something I enjoy, and this book was no different. Natasha's checkered, layered, detailed history was fascinating to learn about. One aspect I really enjoyed was her relationship with Hawkeye, who is another one of my favorite Avengers. Natasha is not your typical superhero, she has flaws, and she has a past and that made her more relateable as a character. The writing was very well done, it moved along and made you want to keep reading. The selection of comic book art presented was excellent as well.

100 % well thought out coffee table book. Bought this to gain an better understanding of the character and use a road map to some key Black Widow story lines. Trust me when I say it is absolutely gorgeous. Thank you Titan books!

A great way to learn or remember the character's history through the comics, illustrated by beautiful artwork and full comics pages. Beware it's a really oversized artbook!
