3.5 STARS I liked this one. Definitely much better than book 3. Still, while I enjoyed the first 2 books because they were the typical paranormal romance read, it got pretty much predictable after them. I didn't care much for the last 2 books, in some way things were different afterwards and not in a good way. This was a nice series, but that's about it. I'm definitely never gonna read it again. I never got to care for the characters and the plot wasn't good enough. With the first 2 books I guess 3.5 STARS I liked this one. Definitely much better than book 3. With the first 2 books I guess I was hooked because I missed reading about vampires, but after them the novelty was over and I realized I really didn't like the series much. It's not that I d not recommend it because it's a great read if you have nothing to read. But there are many, many better books out there.

This one was my least favorite of this series ( I usually have one). It was too cheesy, Van Helsing decendant? Really? Puhleae The only redeeming factor for me was Rane's situation with turning vampire and his drastic life change at such a young age without a choice. Interesting plot with trying to find out who killed her father and learning how to be a vampire hunter. Good solid romance. Can be read without reading the other books first, but you probably lose a bit about the family background. Enjoyable read.

This is such a great book. I have enjoyed all of the Night’s series, but in my opinion, I think this is the best one yet. This is the fourth book in the Night’s series. The first one is “Night’s Kiss,” followed by “Night’s Touch,” and “Night’s Master.” This series follows the Cordova family. The next one in the series does not have a publication date yet, but it will be about Mara, the oldest living vampire, who had made appearances in all of the books (I’m not quite remembering if she was in th This is such a great book. That being said, I am wondering why Mara is so protective of the Cordova family… maybe we will find out. This book is mainly divided into two parts. The first part being the very sweet falling in love of the hero and heroine (while everything is still peachy keen in the heroine’s life). Well, things change and the heroine, Savanah, finds her father murdered, finds out that her mother (who died long ago) was a vampire hunter, and that her new boyfriend IS a vampire. And now, of course, the murderer is after her. What will Savanah decide? Will she become a vampire hunter, which is in her blood, or will she forsake all others and be with the undead man she loves? I guess you’ll just have to read to find out!

It's been eighteen years since the war with the Werewolves and the Vampires have ended. Apparently, the world has been plunged back into ignorance about the existence of the supernatural. Mortals being what they were, they had quickly brushed aside what they couldn't explain once the conflict was over." Once thing is for sure, if that actually happened in reality, no one would be forgetting about the supernatural any time soon - even after eighteen years. I absolutely love the Cordova family (and the Delongpre's)! The Cordova men are all very charming, and very protective of their women. Like Clive says, "Like the knights of old." Rane has a lot of serious emotional baggage. Unlike his brother, and the rest of his vampire family, he has a very hard time accepting what he is, and the crimes that he has committed in the past. It drove him away from his entire family. That's some serious hurt. Ninety years later, he finally finds solace, and falls in love with Savannah Gentry - an amateur vampire hunter. Ha! I saw that one coming from a mile away! I loved the plot and the story though. Very dearly. I love the whole series to bits.

I think my biggest problem with this book was not so much the author or the characters, because I've read Ashley's stuff before. However I think it was a combo of me finding a few series I like that are darker and more realistic than this series and then trying to come back to this book. It really made the whole plot and characters seem very plastic. Savanah as a character had so much potential to really create conflict in her relationship with Rane, but like a lot of romance novels, the heroine I think my biggest problem with this book was not so much the author or the characters, because I've read Ashley's stuff before. Savanah as a character had so much potential to really create conflict in her relationship with Rane, but like a lot of romance novels, the heroine is too easily persuaded into the arms of her lover. It just seemed too easy to me that she let go of what happened to her parents and just gave into Rane. Rane as a character I felt was really thrown together in haste. We already go into this book knowing a lot about the rest of his family, but Rane is the mysterious outcast. The backstory for him just seemed really bland. Of course everyone gets their happy ending, and good for them. I wish I could say that the plot twists and turns were surprising, but overall a very predictable read. I think I'll probably only pickup the next book in the series because Mara has some substance that can be expanded on.

This is part of a series that starts with “Night’s Kiss" and is followed on by "Night’s Touch", "Night’s Master" and "Night’s Pleasure". Rane Cordova is a vampire and he works as a magician who Savanah Gentry has been to watch on many occasions, the first when she was 9 years old. Now she is 25 and is watching him again, she finds him fascinating and as a reporter she is trying to get an interview with him. He decides to meet with her but will not consent to an interview. Rane is not happy being a vampire and all that it incorporates. He has separated from his family because of the way he feels about himself. Falling in love with Savanah and having her love in return helps him to feel better about himself. Savanah’s father has just been killed and she finds out that her mother was a vampire hunter and that she has inherited her skills. While reading some books that her father has she finds out that Rane is a vampire – that takes a bit of coming to terms with. I loved how this story came together, the troubled Rane and Savanah who doesn’t quite know what she wants but she knows that she needs Rane.

Series: Children of the Night, #4 Category /Genre: Paranormal Romance Received from: my dad Recommended for: 18+ due to sexual content and violence Grammar/editing: A – near perfect This is the fourth book in the Children of the Night series. I loved Rane and Savannah. I was actually sad to finish this book and say good-bye to a couple that fought minimally, but more so loved, worked, and learned together, as adults, and without malice to one another. I would love to read more from this author.

I just really think the book could have been a lot better. I feel like the way each character acts and the plot sequence is similar with the last two books in the series, even though each book is about a different person. The only person I found less predictable was Mara, and I was able to assume most of her actions. I prefer my books to be unpredictable, not extreamly predictable, since it just gets boring and not entertaining.

Vampire hunter, Savannah Gentry, falls in love with a shape-shifter magician who she later finds out is a vampire. Savannah is coming to terms with this when her father is killed by a vampire/werewolf team. Chaos ensues and the chase is on to find and terminate a killer. I really liked Rane and Savannah. What a great love story. I guess love really does conquer all.

Rane is a great character. He's good and bad all rolled in one. The push and pull chemistry between Rane & Savannah was great. Good ending, leads you into the next book. Cannot wait to see what happens with Mara & kyle. Really liked the family gathering that happened towards the end of the book. The action scenes were a little short, but they were good. Newspaper reporter Savanah Gentry had no idea that her parents were vampire hunters until reading a letter from her father after his sudden death. Her mother had died when Savanah was a young girl. Savanah is now set on revenge, ready to carry on the family tradition, not knowing that Rane Cordova, the man she has recently fallen in love with, is indeed a vampire himself.

I liked it, but it was much like all other Amanda Ashley books. Once again, the heroine was a virgin. Are ANY of her heroines EVER NOT VIRGINS? EVER? Sex scenes a little earlier and more frequent in this book. Heroine was a little more daring than usual. Pretty close to the same storyline every time. I do like the "Mara" mentions. I loves the female lead, my favourite kind, strong and self empowered. The vampire/wolf thing was something new. This was ok. A couple of times it got to be slow. It was like come on with it. Savanah wasn't turned at the end so that was interesting and they had a baby girl named Abbey Marie by Mara.
