Dracula: *3 Stars The opening of the novel is terrific, but feels like a prologue, or a short story that Bram Stoker used as a springboard for a longer, duller story. I see its merits, but it's not something I'm going to reread. Frankenstein: *5 Stars One of the finest novels of the period that I've ever read. In fact, this collection might get less stars if not for this masterpiece of early science fiction. The Island of Dr. Moreau: *4 Stars HG Wells cannot make a bad book. At least, I haven't read Dracula: *3 Stars The opening of the novel is terrific, but feels like a prologue, or a short story that Bram Stoker used as a springboard for a longer, duller story. At least, I haven't read a bad one. Not yet. Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde: *3 Stars Not as good as I had hoped. (Still unclear if Hyde was a little guy or a big one. Kind of seems like he was both.)
