Bear for Christmas by Amy Lamont is the fourth book in the Kodiak Den series, although it does work perfectly fine as a standalone novel.   As a standalone novel is how I read the story, having not read any of the Kodiak Den series, and I found the story to be thoroughly enjoyable. I now want to go on and read the other books in the series, but this is because of an interest in the series and not because I feel as though I’m lacking in knowledge that would have helped me understand this story.   Wh Bear for Christmas by Amy Lamont is the fourth book in the Kodiak Den series, although it does work perfectly fine as a standalone novel. What we’re given is an intriguing shifter novel, with more than just the shifter aspect of the paranormal world. We have a female lead character with psychic abilities, running from her past, adding an additional layer to the enjoyable paranormal aspect of the story. It was a nice change, something that isn’t done all that often – at least not in the way the author did it in this story. It’s a very simple way of adding an additional layer to the story, and yet it adds so much. It just goes to show how the smallest of things, when done correctly, can build a story to all new heights. If the rest of the series have this kind of element to them – I do not mean a repeat of this story, I mean a subtle addition to the normal shifter world that adds layers to the story – then I’m positive I’ll thoroughly enjoy the other books in the series.   It was more than just an interesting story, though. It was a book with two great characters, with interesting chemistry between the two of them. I prefer it when a romance builds slowly, but I know when a story is as short as this one such a thing is not possible. For the length, though, the chemistry between the two characters was a lot of fun: I really enjoyed them as individuals, as well as enjoying them as a couple. The steamy scenes, too, were great.   The only downside, for me, was that the ending all seemed a little bit too fast. The non-romantic aspects came together, and were resolved, too quickly for me – I would have liked a little bit more in that regard. It felt as though we were given so much about certain parts of the story at the start, only for them to be given very little space at the end to bring it all together.   As a whole, though, I really enjoyed this one. There is no doubt that I will be reading more of the author’s work in the future to see what else she has to offer.   As a final note, I would like to thank the author for allowing me to read this in exchange for a review.

Ivy the psychic on the run and Cole the bear shifter bounty hunter. I so loved the premise of the story and was really into it, when suddenly it was over and I was only 37% through the book!!!! Kinda pissed me off really. Although I still enjoyed it. It could have been so much better if it had been longer and more fleshed out. Ivy has psychic powers that allow her to stay one day ahead of the men her evil father has hired to capture her and bring her back home. Ivy has psychic powers that allow her to stay one day ahead of the men her evil father has hired to capture her and bring her back home. One of these companies sends out Cole, but once they meet, nothing seems so simple. The ending was rushed with a super quick wrap up that was almost a blur. Hence the 3 stars. So the book is listed as 186 pages making this story less than 70 pages. There is a second story, "Christmas With the Billionaire", that was cute and fluffy but not what I ordered. I enjoyed it too, but again, the ending was a but rushed. There are 4 BFFs who live together in Manhattan after just graduating. This is one of those stories where nobody seems to have any money issues... even when living in Manhattan. Emma is the quiet shy one who makes a living writing sex articles under an alias. Her friends contrive to push her out of her comfort zone by making her randomly choose one of her own articles and living it. The one she chooses leads her to meeting a billionaire and having a one night stand. This was all well and good and I liked Emma's character. She had depth but Nate (the Billionaire) was pretty cardboard. The ending, AGAIN, was too rushed and glossed over. It was more of an HFN. But I believe the author intends to continue it in the next book with will be one of the other BFF's stories. Honestly I don't intend to pursue it. BUT I do intend to read more by this author.

Are you fucking kidding me? This is not a story. It's not even a novella. It's a lazy "story" (used loosely). It's a "Here's an idea but I'm going to use as few words as possible" story. The end. There's insta-love but this is insta-stupid. Except for a waitress, there is no one else included here. She visit's his "den" but no names are mentioned. Like I said, lazy. A story should have in-depth characters and a plot to sink your teeth into all of which is lacking here. I'm really pissed because I wanted a story and got crap instead. Yes, my fault but I love shifter novels so I took a chance. No matter as I have no intention reading anything more by this author ever again. I'm sick of novels that are absolute shit, especially ones with so many positive reviews.

I loved the consideration and understanding of the strong Alpha character of Cole and how he protected the smart and sassy Ivy and helped her to find the man of her dreams. You have to love a cool shifter story with a happy ending and besting the bad guy.

This was such a fun quick read by Amy Lamont. I loved how it was not your typical Christmas shifter story. Yes, it was hot and steamy. She has no idea that her entire world would shift upside down until she is on the run, fighting for her freedom. I really enjoyed how Ivy's gifts worked. The description was great, I just wished the story was long so we could really see her grow and become something special with Cole by her side. Them working as a team would be fantastic. Take no prisoners Cole Jackson thinks this case is like any other until he sees Ivy in action. He realized quickly that he needed to get to the bottom of why he really was assigned to find and return Ivy. I loved the chemistry between Ivy and Cole. Cole was dominant and would terrify most by to Ivy, he was her sexy lumberjack. He was massive but he never frightened her from the moment she met him. He was a teddy bear. HEHE. He wanted nothing more than to be tender and sweet with his girl. He would give her the moon to see her smile. For me, I needed to see Ivy and Cole against her father and maybe work on a case together. The ending felt too quick. Or maybe I am just needy and wanted to see these two really come to life as a couple for a few more chapters. Overall, this was a great story to get you in the Christmas spirit. I mean who doesn't want a sexy bearded lumberjack bear in their Christmas stocking.

Though really it’s the man behind the bear that you really want to be looking at. Ivy has been on the run from her father – and the men he’s sent after her – for a month. Since a child she has had premonitions and thought her father only kept her sheltered out of love and to protect her from harm. When a new gift started to appear she got a wake up call to what her life was really like and what her father’s plans for her really were. She now has the ability to go into someone’s mind and read the thoughts and emotions within. Taking a look into her fathers didn’t turn out the way she’d hoped. It appears that from the moment he found put she had the gift of premonition he has been using her as a science experiment he could make money from. The government would see her as a highly sort after commodity, one that would create a lot of money for her father. Not wanting to be there a moment longer she ran. She may be able to outsmart the men he sent after her with her gifts but when the man from her dreams appears within a premonition she has to wonder if she really wants to outrun him. Cole is a bear shifter, one hired to track her down for her father. His company has been used as a last resort due to the lack of results from the others searching for her. At first he can’t see a reason to take the case on himself and plans to pass it along to a colleague. That all changes after he takes a look at the picture of the woman who is missing. One look and his bear charges right to the surface, to the point of causing a shift. Seems his bear and him are agreement that she’s their mate. He knows that he’s the only person who will find her – tracking is his thing. Something about the file on her doesn’t quite fit for him though. After she gives him a bit of a run around he comes home to regroup. Seems fate likes to play a hand in this little cat and mouse game as who just happens to be sitting at his local dinner, none other than Ivy. Perhaps if he figures out what is really going on he can keep her, something his bear is dying to do. Ivy senses him before she sees him and for but a moment wants to believe in knights and fairytales and live in the moment with her dream man. At a loss as to where to stay, no hotels close by, he offers his place due to the snow coming in fast. With heavy snow they will be blocked in but it also means the others after her can’t get close either. Seems she likes that he is giving her a few firsts. First date, first bear shifter she’s met and if she plays her cards right first kiss. It just takes one to kick start a fun lot of firsts (then first seconds, thirds and so on) but when a premonition kicks in and shows her a future she wishes were false her romantic bubble might just burst. She must never forget that danger from her father is just a step away. Well that is unless Cole can get is furry butt in order and get her out of it. Two books in one which was cool but I would have liked it to be a bit longer and for Cole to ‘bear out’ protecting Ivy in some way or another. Didn’t feel too much like a shifter read more just a heated snowed in romance. They sure found some fun ways to warm up while it was cold outside. I received this ARC from Give Me Books for my honest review. https://readingnook84.wordpress.com/2...

I can not imagine what it was like for Ivy to be betrayed by her flesh and blood her father. Now she finds herself on the run from her crazy selfish father. I like that Cole was able to tell just by the photo that Ivy was his mate. Though he was hired to find her and take her back to her father he felt there was more to the story then met the eye. I love how Ivy brought Christmas into Cole’s life. But when you think everything is going right things take a turn for the worse. Bear for. Christmas Quinn is psychic and on the run from her father who has been using her to make money since she was a toddler. He is not a nice man and sends men after her to bring her back. Cole follows her trail and realizes she is special to him and he will keep her safe and protect her from her father. Excellent excellent and fabulous. The second story about Emma and Nate, the billionaire is equally well written. I enjoyed it and couldn't put it down. Bear for. 3.5 A good quick read I felt for Ivy, finding out what she did and having to go on the run for survival. I felt for Cole too, loving Ivy and yet still believing her father's lies. I would have liked a bit more of them after she didn't have to run anymore. This is my first time with Alaskan Den men stories, I will be looking into the others. *This edition came with a free christmas book which I have previously read and a sneak peak at the next one in that series.* 3.5 A good quick read I felt for Ivy, finding out what she did and having to go on the run for survival. A great shifter / psychic human Romance One of the shifters of the Ursus security solution takes on finding a runaway girl. When the shifter sees the picture of the girl he realizes that she is his mate. However the girl is elusive. The characters are great and sometimes funny. Scenario takes place in Kodiak, Alaska which is very descriptive. The plot is interesting. Readers the Paranormal romance would like the story and comes highly recommended. bookwormsuzy

This is Cole and Ivy's story . Ivy has learned that her father is not who she thought he was and that he is now sending people to find her and bring her home . But she has come to learn to trust herself more and is growing confidence in herself and what she is able to do . Cole is hired to bring home a missing daughter not understanding exactly what is going on . When these two meet wow ! This is well written and recommended . This is Cole and Ivy's story . The Goodreads info needs to be corrected on this book - 186 pages is not accurate; this is a VERY short story of maybe 40-50 pages tops then a bonus story is included. I was enjoying the set up of the story then Cole & Ivy get together (very rushed) and then boom it's over. The story is wrapped up in a few paragraphs - all is forgiven and all wrapped up. Dumb. Too short and as with the rest of the books in the series, full of spelling & grammatical errors. Happy Holidays This book was exactly what I needed to read after a coupke of rough days. It was funny, witty, and had a bear shifter, what more is there? Ivy and Cole's story was interesting. She led a sheltered life, and he fought for his country. And yet...you need to read. I'm anti-spoilers. Fully recommend. Caught, without a net. Being on the run. Ivy was always looking over her shoulder. Having her dreams filled with a man. Then meeting the man himself. Taking a chance. Finding her soul mate. And discovering firsts. Steamy read
