Woooh! Detective Comics is getting super exciting! With Batman down, Kate Kane a.k.a. Batwoman leading the squad against a superior army, things are going to het pretty nasty. Williams run has never been given the proper amount of time to shine, and most importantly, to lead. This is something that Batman lacks. He works alone so he doesn't seem to be good at leading. But Kane here in the other hand has the proper motivation and training to do the job. Way to go! Clayface, I just love this guy. He's the comic relief of the team. It is hust too funny whenever he says something. Great! Batman and Detective Comics are killing it. Batman has inspiration while DetCom has humor. I love this new DC Rebirth feeling.

I'm still enjoying Detective Comics. I like that the "team" has to rely on themselves now and that there are conflicts between individuals. Orphan is really my favorite character in this. I like that she barely talks and kicks some serious behind. I like where this run is going and will be continuing the series. I'm still enjoying Detective Comics. This series has lost me a bit, its become this weird story arc, with the 'Batmen' who basically just look like Arkham Knights. It also focuses on batman's followers more then batman himself, so it feels like Batman Arkham Knight mixed with Batman Eternal. Is this really still a batman comic? Me estoy releyendo toda la saga para darle su digno fin. Tengo un buen recuerdo de lo asombroso que es la serie. Lo sentí como una película, todos los personajes tienen tramas interesantes!!

Better than I remember the last issue being. The twist at the ending was pretty cool, and I'm liking where Batwoman's character is going. I'm kinda glad that Batman isn't featured a lot in this series aside from small cameos. Also, I keep feeling like Clayface is just a tool for the team to use until he goes rogue, which is kinda lame. Why even bring him in if he's going to be used like that? I dunno, but that's my only main complaint about this title. Better than I remember the last issue being. A shocking betrayal—or maybe not considering what we know about the character. Really like where this is headed and really like that Tynion is letting the other, non-Batman characters take the lead while still making him–particularly what he means to the other members of the team–really important to the action. Glad I only have to wait 2 weeks to read the next issue.

This issue is just brilliant, the artwork is strong and the arc of the story puts everybody in a difficult position. Not sure where this ties in with the other batman storylines but I'll trust they deliver. This storyline and Green Arrow are my rebirth favourites for the moment. Batman has been captured and subdued by the Colony. Now they’re chasing down the young vigilantes and are closing in on the Belfrey, the new “downtown” Batcave! Can the young heroes hold off this military unit - especially when they’re trying to recruit Batwoman? We get a lot of answers in this issue as to who’s behind the surveillance and the attack on Batman. There’s a deep connection to Batwoman that puts her loyalty in question here. We get a lot of Kate Kane this issue as well - some insight Batman has been captured and subdued by the Colony. We get a lot of Kate Kane this issue as well - some insight into her personality, her desires, and her drives. I probably enjoyed these insights more than much of the Batwoman series during the New 52 era. Batman is gone here, so it’s all up to Kate to lead these kids and take control of the situation. Clayface feels very different in this series. I know Tynion is trying to make him sympathetic, but he feels like an entirely different character with different goals and motivations. It’s not that I don’t like it, but I just question the cause. There was a Clayface “shard” sometime back that had developed it’s own sentience. I’m wondering if this is that character. We have a new art team this issue (that bi-weekly schedule must be killer on artists), and it holds up very well compared to the previous team. I like Martinez’s art quite a bit, but I think I prefer Eddy Barrows a bit more. Martinez doesn’t quite have the same distinction for the characters or as powerful a use of shadow as Barrows. Their styles are very similar, though, and that’s a good thing for continuity. I’m really just nitpicking here because this team still does great work. Nice development this issue with some big reveals. Captivating storyline, even if it doesn’t have a big villain or event.

Review: 8.5/10 This is definitely my favorite issue thus far of this run of Detective Comics. There were so many interesting things done with this issue that helps expand the lore of Batman and gives a better understanding of him. I like the organization and what their doing. They are not entirely bad and their motives are clear and why their doing what their doing makes sense. They want to make the world better so why not look up to the expert in doing just that, except they take it up a notch. That gives good room for some interesting plot points in the future. The art in this book has consistently been good and I have always loved the panel layouts the artist does and how dynamic he draws them to tell his story. Though I am a little disappointed by how many double page layouts there are. Being as I read these electronically it gets a bit annoying.

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here. I really like the current art. The first page, with the scenes playing out in Kate's glass of beer? Awesome. Tim is gorgeous. And Cass looks fantastic. I will say though. I know he's your dad, Kate, but never having read Detective Comics until 935, even I knew an Army guy knowing your and Batman's identity was bad. A group of soldiers designed after Batman? Come on, Kate. I am curious as to what "real enemy" somehow Batman can't imagine. I mean he fights criminals in Gotham sure, but Colonel Kane, I really like the current art. Still my personal favorite of the Rebirth books. the plot isn't going where I'd expected and the characters are still interesting or charming depending on the need of the story. I love the art and I like the storytelling methods being chosen. The team members each have a distinct voice and while many of them have some archetypal characteristics, none of them are token roles (even if one person does try to apply a label to them int he story). All in all, loving it. This is basically a Batman-less Batman comic. There have been too many Batman team comics lately and this one is really stretching it. They have also taking the crime solving away from The World's Greatest Detective. I'm still reading because the story they have is compelling enough for to want to know what happens.

3.3 stars Batman has been beaten & now the Batwoman & the rest must rely on themselves. The "betrayal" that happened was expected & I am pissed the organization called "The Colony" took Batman down. I hope Orphan is alright. She was kicking their behinds. 3.3 stars Batman has been beaten & now the Batwoman & the rest must rely on themselves. This issue excels as a setup to what I'm sure will be subsequent action packed issues. It is quite well paced and has the "bad guy" well motivated with a different type of reasoning than most bad guys. I for one am glad to see this line's upward arc in storytelling quality. A really well written flashback, a chat with an old flame, a leader down, a big betrayal, and Batwoman taking the reins full on! Loving what's happening with the series! Tynion's really letting Kate Kane have the much-deserved spotlight. A really well written flashback, a chat with an old flame, a leader down, a big betrayal, and Batwoman taking the reins full on! We finally find out who's behind the mysterious army who took down Batman and Azrael. Wasn't exactly that shocking and I'm afraid that this could play really badly, plot-wise. But, I'm sure Cassandra Cain will make up for the probable-plot-cliches so it's all good. We finally find out who's behind the mysterious army who took down Batman and Azrael.
