I've alway had luck with recipes from Williams Sonoma. The recipes in this book are pretty basic renditions of all of the classics with just enough extra information to answer my questions or satisfy my curiosity. I'll try a bunch of them, for sure. It the best cooking book I've ever read and cooked from. I forgot I've used to cook from this way back... Tonight I will be cooking Chicken Satay with Peanut Sauce from page 33. My family's favorites are Roasted Lobster with Tarragon Butter from page 158, Fried Chicken with Buttermilk Crust from page 195, Rice Salad with Tuna & Capers and Spaghetti alla Carbonara. To add to that, my favorites are Seared Tuna with Italian Herb Sauce on page 169 and Spaghetti with Meatballs on page 113. This is re It the best cooking book I've ever read and cooked from. I love this book. The recipes are straightforward but really good: you can pull off many of these during the week, but serve them to company as well. I also like that many recipes are less involved than in some other books. For example, the recipe for gnocchi doesn't require as much resting or kneading, but it turned out just as well as other recipes I've tried. So far I've made a beet salad, a chicken breast with mustard sauce, salmon with lentils, the focaccia bread and the gnocchi with gorgon I love this book. This is BY FAR the best cookbook I own. Every single dish I have made out of this book has been so delicious, and I almost always alter the recipe to my taste since I think recipes are more of a guideline. I highly recommend this for intermediate to advanced cooks.
