I read this book many moons ago; as well as many other of Stine’s works! But what kid growing up in the 90’s didn’t read his work, right?😘❤️ A GR friend was reading this and it prompted my memory of this read!❤️❤️

This review is for the audiobook version. This may be my favorite Goosebumps HorrorLand book yet! It was one of the darker ones with genuine chills. It was smart to followup the more comical Monster Blood book with something like this, in which there is a haunted ghost stable, a diabolical mask, and an evil vs. evil showdown at the climax! The HorrorLand story following the main story was pretty good, too. I really liked the scene at the mask gift shop.

I'm so glad I was able to fit in this book with my October reads. I was so in love with Goosebumps as a kid, being able to go back and read about characters you know feels special honestly. This book revisits Carly Beth, that most of course knows from The Haunted Mask. I found it to be an adorable and cute story. It's a quick read, and for me, it was an absolutely wonderful trip down memory lane!

I have read The Haunted mask 1 as well as the The Haunted mask 2 and I enjoyed both of these. Although this book can be read as a stand-alone but I would highly recommend reading the first books in the haunted mask titles to get a better chance of understanding the characters. The first book introduced us to the evil mask and to the famous characters of Carly Beth and sabrina who are by the way best friends goals. Although we a little of these two in second book it was still quite entertaining. T I have read The Haunted mask 1 as well as the The Haunted mask 2 and I enjoyed both of these. I love the way the author bought back the old similar characters with a bang and it was eery atmosphere. It genuinely gave a creepy and spooky feeling. This was definitely one of my favorite top 3 Goosebumps books, hands down. I'll be surely reading this again in the Halloween because a) it's Halloween themed b)it will be fun and scary at the same time and c) it's goosebumps..... Halloween cannot be complete without it

R.L Stines book: The haunted mask. A thrilling horror story about a young girl (Carly Beth) who mysteriously finds a horrible looking mask in her basement. This mask is prepared to make this Halloween a nightmare for both Carly and her best friend Sabrina (who later appears in the story). Not only is the mask haunted, but also is its sick and unforgettable past. The story itself is very haunting and will most definitely give you goosebumps as you read it. This book fits perfectly in to the ''your own choice'' category which is placed on the bingo board. my favorite character in this horror book is obviously Carly Beth, for she is brave and will do whatever it takes to bring things to peace. She is a courageous young girl and has the heart of a lion. My favorite part is the end of the book when Carly Beth finally defeats the mask, Settling its past to rest, releasing all despair and sorrow from its messed up mind. I learnt from this book that standing up to your fears will make you a stronger and better person, on the inside and outside. This is a great book and i recommend it to horror lovers and thrill seekers. Read it. ¬takeiteas¬

I love this Horrorland series. Ya, I know, I'm 23 and still reading Goosebumps. I don't give a shit. The original series was my favorite when I Was younger and I remember endless nights reading up in the attic with a flashlight. Devouring book after book. I think these books will stick with me until I grow old and gray, just like HP. There's just something about these books that make me want more. This one is a pretty scary Horrorland book! It's about a mask (returning for the second time in Goosebumps) to frighten Carly Beth. It calls to her, and though she tries NOT to slide the mask over her face, it (of course) happens anyway... and it sucks her in to its evil ways. Complete with scary legends that may be true. And a bonus Horrorland adventure in the back of the book.

I mean it’s a kids book, but I needed something silly before starting something intense. If I was the intended age group it would have been a great gateway into what I like now. In fact Goosebumps always was that for me.

This was a sequel, and although I have never read The Haunted Mask, I was able to follow The Scream of the Haunted Mask just fine. It was rather creepy (but not quite Fear Street-level), and the soundtrack and sound effects in the audio book added immensely to that vibe. The second part - the Horrorland story - was a little harder to follow as I have not read the second and third books in the Horrorland series and the stories are continuous.

This is the best HorrorLand book I've read thus far. As a sequel, it's remarkably accurate and true to the original book. As a story, it's, well, good. The end is abrupt, a common problem with this series, but there are numerous Chekhov's Guns scattered throughout the story, along with one red herring, and the events build to a satisfactory, and creepy, climax. Deserves praise.

I think this is creepy and also exciting because i really want to know what will happen next and can't wait to read it. I is about a girl Carly Beth has a hunted mask from last Halloween and if she wear it she turn evil. Also a ghost want to get the mask back to be evil.

Another Goosebumps Horrorland story that I wasn't at all impressed with... It felt like a continuation from a previous story (so I'm guessing the original story about the Haunted Mask can be found in either the normal Goosebumps series or the Goosebumps 2000 series, either way, I haven't come across it yet or even read it) so I was a little unsure what was going on at times, especially when they referenced to the previous book about the Haunted Mask. What this book does well is the backstory of the haunted horse stables and dipping into the past about that bit of the story really worked well, and and and the twist at the end was unexpected and totally worked, but the story as a whole just didn't grip me. As for the HorrorLand part of the story, I did enjoy this one to an extent, I could totally imagine what was going on, although it could've been a bit creepier. The Werewolf Village had so much room to grow, whilst the mask store could've been scarier.

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here. This one I was less impressed with. For one thing, it negates The Haunted Mask II (which I haven't read but know enough about) and for another, I found it pretty dull. The twist was good, and there were some creepy bits like the whinnying horses and Carly Beth finding the picture of Clark's grandfather, but in general it didn't grab me as much as the previous installments did. I found her more interesting. The HorrorLand segment in this book didn't wow me either. Not much happened except Sheena reappearing and Carly Beth and Sabrina finding those talking masks. I'm hoping the next book is better.

Goosebumps were classics for me growing up and continue to be a landmark of middle-grade horror fiction in their new "Horrorland" series. For me, this book is a seasonal recommendation. Who doesn't love a little scary story around Halloween? Especially when set on the day! Of course, with middle-grade kids discretion should always be used in the recommending of horror books, but the Goosebumps are always a safe bet. This book is about a old mask shop. In the back of the shop there is a room. In the room there is a lot of scary masks. If you put one of them on it won't come off. Only if you found comfort in your self it will come off. If you don`t find comfort in your self and try to pull it off your skin will come off with it to. The story is about a girl how is bullied so she puts on the mask to scare and it does not go well. I was really good to read because of how it rips off the girl's skin. The book Goosebumps Horrorland by R.L. Stine was a crazy book some of the characters in the story were Carly Beth, Noah, carly’s mom and dad, and carly’s friend. The book was really scary some scary parts were when carly said that she had this mask that made you evell and everybody who’s owned the mask will do anything to get it. It take’s over you it’s crazy. And that is why I like this book. I recommend it if you like scary stories.

Genre: High Fantasy Grade Level: 3rd-6th grade The Scream of the Haunted Mask is a continuation of the previous Haunted Mask books from the Goosebumps. I couldn't put this book down until read the final pages. Children and adult fan of R.L. Stine will devour this new tale of horror. I wouldn't recommend this book for third or fourth graders because the is a little too intense towards the end of the story. The fans of R.L. Stine will not be disappointed.

This is probably the greatest, and darkest Goosebumps book ever. It was made even darker by the narrator and the sound of evil laughter and visuals of ghostly white horses. I love the idea that no matter what, you can never defeat the haunted mask. This story also seems to be a direct sequel to The Haunted Mask, erasing the original plot of The Haunted Mask 2. Personally I think this book is better.

Book 4 in the series. I enjoyed this much more than the last one. A creepier plot with a red herring. The first part of this book did flow and was enjoyable. The second part was also different to the first 3 books in the series. It added more mystery while not following the same formula as before. Definitely a worthwhile read.

What happens when an enchanted mask tries to summon Carly Beth to do its bidding and who can she trust to help her to defeat the evil thing. All that plus an addition to the horror land story where all kids are trying to figure just what is going on in this strange place. There is lots of suspense, I liked it.

I really liked what little of the story I understood. I did not read the first two Haunted Mask books in the Goosebumps series before reading this one, and the story really depended on the previous installations. The descriptions of the mask were utterly repulsive (which is a great trait for horror), and the imagery of the screaming horses was especially creepy.

The first story was great, a nice continuation of the story from the first book. But then there was an added story that was part of a bigger whole (that I haven't been reading) that also ends in a weird place with no real finish.

This is probably my favorite so far. It successfully creeped me out a few times, and it was neat to see the return of the mask. Also HorrorLand should really just be called "Gaslight: The Theme Park." ...also, where's Slappy?!

The Horrorland segment continues to intrigue. I have an idea of what Carly Beth can do next with the mask: burn it. Or, does this book's universe not have the flammable kind of fire to do this?
