This is such a delightful read. What a family Jane had!!! Such a supportive father. Her life's like a perfect fictional story, like a fairytale. I never knew 'Sense and Sensibility' was originally named as 'Elinor and Marianne'! And she wasn't even 20 when she wrote it! And 'Pride and Prejudice' was originally written as... (I need to stop). Enjoying such titbits as well as the delicious illustration. The Darcy art though 🤓 Amazing read indeed. I cannot believe it made me cry towards the end. This is such a delightful read. This is genuinely a Gorgeous book, I really enjoyed all the quotes, and the illustrations are gorgeous and consistent. Even the quality of the book itself is really high. I haven't even read any of Austen's books,, just admired from Afar but even for me this was such a lovely, quick read. There was to many glaring mistakes to hinder someone from really enjoying it. I find it sad because what a chance to teach children about Jane Austen.

Such a sweet tiny book, with both text and illustrations, much like Austen’s work would, warming the reader’s heart. Simply adorable.

Beautifully illustrated and full of interesting facts, this book tells the story of who Jane Austen was from her birth right through to the end of her life. I loved the illustrations in this book. Almost every page features a small drawing or two to help divulge a little bit about the famous author. We get to see a little bit about each of Jane's novels along with some context about where she was in her life when she wrote them. This isn't a long book with each page only having a few sentences or two yet I felt it gave just the right amount of information. Fans of Jane Austen will appreciate how beautifully presented this book. It is a gorgeous addition to anyone's bookshelves. And those who don't know all that much about her will enjoy learning more about her life and the times in which she lived. Perfect as a gift for the literature lover in your life, this book about Jane Austen was an absolutely pleasure to read. Thanks to Murdoch books for the review copy.

I am enjoying this pretty little series a lot. They're basically picture books for adults. I've read Coco, Virginia and Jane and am waiting for Frieda on my library holds lists. I read each at a sitting, learned a few new things even though they're extremely light. They seem like nice little gift books but would disappoint anyone looking for an in-depth biography. What charming little book with some interesting facts about Jane Austen's life! (The Austens loved to put on plays?! <3) I loved the lovely watercolour illustrations. I only wished it would be longer and more detailed. What charming little book with some interesting facts about Jane Austen's life! I adored this cute little book. ADORED! It is so much more than a cute coffee table book. It can be used as that because the art is fantastic and anyone would probably love to flip through it, but it also tells the story of Jane Austen’s life so well. It is short but comprehensive given its length, and it even includes quotes from her books and letters. I don’t think a biography about Austen would ever be completely without quotes from her letters, and was pleasantly surprised when this tiny boo I adored this cute little book. ADORED! I have to say that this isn't a type of biography I expected it to be, but I didn't mind it at all — I really enjoyed reading this lovely book. The illustrations took my breath away. I also learned more details about Austen's life. If you are a big fan of Jane Austen, you'll probably know all of this information in the book, but it's worth reading anyway — you shouldn't miss those beautiful illustrations! The illustrations are so lovely! Much of it reminded me of scenes from Virginia Lee Burton’s The Little House, a favorite of mine. This collection would be a great introduction to writers and artists for children.

A quick illustrated biography about Jane Austen. Informative text, good illustrations (though seems better when humans aren't in the picture). Got it free from a free bin at a used bookstore. This book brings out far too much nostalgia for me to be able to write an objective review. It makes me miss the semester I spent in England something fierce, and calls all the memories rushing back: wandering the streets of Bath with friends; letting the salt-thick wind whip my hair in Lyme Regis; running back to the Jane Austen House Museum, rain streaming off my oversized coat as I hurried to buy a postcard of her writing desk and dashed back to the coach, packed full of my waiting professors This book brings out far too much nostalgia for me to be able to write an objective review. My semester in England was one of the best periods of my life. Jane Austen has always been one of my favorite authors. And the lovely, simple text and illustrations in this miniature illustrated biography capture all of those emotions so beautifully. It's not a complete biography, and isn't intended to be. It touches on the larger moments in her life and creates a compelling portrait that provides just enough detail to make you want to seek out more. The art complements the writing perfectly, in a way that makes this little book a must-have for Austen's fans.

This is a beautifully illustrated biography, the perfect gift for a lover of Austen. I wouldn't say it reveals anything new and there is a list of works consulted if you'd like to read more in depth as there was only a few sentences on each page. I sat with a cup of tea and enjoyed reading little tidbits and looking through the illustrations. This is a beautifully illustrated biography, the perfect gift for a lover of Austen. Wonderfully fun and beautiful mini biography of Jane Austen! For such a small and simply written book, I enjoyed it so much. The watercolor illustrations softly sparkle and I found myself lingering over each little page. Perfect to read to children or to inspire interest in this classic Regency author. Very happy to add this gem to my Jane Austen collection. Highly recommend!

The illustrations are SO BEAUTIFUL (I'm a huge watercolor fan) and the books serves as a great introduction to Jane Austen's biography, incorporating both elements from her life and her historic context. I really liked that it also incorporated quotes from her books and letters. I loved this beautiful illustrated bio of Jane Austen. The author kept the most important information about J.A. The illustrations were lovely and so cute. It was short and easy to read, it could be a good book for kids to discover who was this great writer.

This is a delightful little book, with bright, charming illustrations accompanying a short summary of Jane Austen's life. It's a quick and cheerful crash course on Austen and because of the lovely pictures would be enjoyed by younger children as well. It's a cute, short read, which should appeal to people who need an introduction to Jane Austen's life. I'd say get it from a library unless you collect picture books.
