Detective Comics #31 "Batman Versus the Vampire, Part 1" This was a pretty fun read, Batman encounters a villain simple known as "The Monk", somehow he has put Bruce's fiancee under hypnosis, and is ordering her to attack people. We also get the debut of The Batarang and The Batgyro, which is pretty cool, but forget that Batman fights a giant ape! Probably my favorite story for Batman at this point, can't wait for part 2! This was a great issue! Batman has finally introduced some of his most famous gadgets! The Batplane and the Batarang! I found this issue to be particularly entertaining because of how similar it feels to many of the more modern episodes from Batman: the Animated Series . A mysterious, magical villain, kidnapping a girl (Bruce Wayne's fiancee, no less), and trailing them to a far off country to encounter giant apes and werewolves. Awesome! This was a great issue!
