This was probably the worst book I've read so far this year. Rambling plot, a stalker with no reason why he's stalking the main character, the main character having no discernible story or any real ties to the characters in the original books and a rambling plot line that even though it irritated me, I still had to finish the book to put it on my reading goal list. No descendents? Didn't care for this book as much as the Girl on the Mountain series. I was hoping for some name recognition from those characters. And I felt left hanging at the end. Who were all those shot up people anyway? No descendents? Didn't care for this book as much as the Girl on the Mountain series. I was hoping for some name recognition from those characters. i like this book. It was a murder mystery in it as I like mysteries .A girl who left her small home town and was singing and was known in the big time. She had to rest her voice for a couple months so she went back to her hometown. She met her old boyfriend and soon decided to stay there after trying to figure out who was trying to bomb a doctors office which some out of town people thought was actually a abortion clinic. So there is talk about abortions thru out the story. Their lives were also i like this book. Whoa Nellie -- THAT was some ride! I don't want to give anything away but this was quite the grabber -- and well-worth being grabbed. A nail-biter with several points where it looked like things might end poorly for one or the other of the characters -- and then a twist here -- a twist there and a few surprises. Good Book, Disappointing End This book was a solid 5 right until the last chapter. Very disappointed with the end, very anti-climatic. Author could have spent more time with the ending instead of just leaving it in mid air. And no, it wasn't a cliff-hanger, just didn't end the book well.
