I fell in love with startup and entrepreneurship after reading this book. I have vivid memories of reading how Practo began while I was traveling in bus from my hometown to Hyderabad. Seeing how Practo has evolved and still growing strong in the health care industry is very inspiring. I have not completely read this book but I have read many of the success stories mentioned in the book. I had given this book to one of my friend and I do not think I am going to get it back. Great thanks to Rashmi Bansal. I was very fortunate to attend her lecture once at IIT-Bombay :)

Arise, awake by Rashmi Bansal is about 10 young entrepreneurs who started their own business right from or after college. The book divides these entrepreneurs into 3 categories- rankers, repeaters and rebels with a cause. In each category, the entrepreneur's story is amazing. In between freshers and farewell, these students became entrepreneurs and created their own business. Some of these are- Practo (used for doctor consultation), InOpen Technologies (computer science for school kids), Dosamat Arise, awake by Rashmi Bansal is about 10 young entrepreneurs who started their own business right from or after college. This book shows that college could also be that perfect platform to believe in dreams, chase and live those dreams! Would definitely recommend this book to college students and aspiring entrepreneurs.

It takes you through 10 fascinating journeys and neatly portrays the situation that, its not rose petals waiting for you if you choose entrepreneurship straight out of college, you have to go through the muddled path. For every success story there is thousands of start ups fail. The author who is so good in narrating stories of entrepreneurs, in future have to include more weightage towards failures too.

Having read Rashmi Bansal’s Shine Bright ( stories of intrapreneurs ), this one was a refreshing read considering the content which was roped in. It is very much engaging to read the success stories of young graduates and the pathway to their propitious journey. The one thing which the author successfully accomplished in this book is to include the enthusiasm or the ‘do it now or never’ energy of the young minds, which was portrayed in an astonishing manner. The one thing which the author successfully accomplished in this book is to include the enthusiasm or the ‘do it now or never’ energy of the young minds, which was portrayed in an astonishing manner. There are footnotes and advises from the young entrepreneurs, which in turn would be really beneficial to the young minds who are targeting their career into entrepreneurship. Rashmi Bansal, as in her previous books, has taken tremendous effort in compiling and collaborating these success stories with valuable additions from her side. But in each and every story, she has narrated the events from the perception of the young entrepreneurs which was so relatable. From the starting point itself, you know you are not reading a plane non- fiction work, rather an experience which is foretold in an audacious manner. If you are a graduate, dreaming of a venture of your own, then ‘Arise Awake’ would be a definite stepping stone.

This book is a compilation of inspiring stories of entrepreneurs. Each story shines so distinctly from which we can gain individual lessons. The author is keen on showing us that there is no specific time for you to become successful. It could start right away from your college life and it is only about how serious you are about it. My favourite amongst the 10 stories would be about the founder of Inopen technologies, Rupesh Shah, who failed so much yet did not lose HOPE. “...he not only failed to This book is a compilation of inspiring stories of entrepreneurs. He failed to enter any engineering college on merit and then, he went on to fail in the first year university exam.” Frames&Pages Verdict : A definite must-read for the budding entrepreneurs here🙌

Some had brilliant ideas, some were IIM graduates, some were drop outs but there is a common thread among these entrepreneurs and that is resilience. Of the startups featured, I had only heard of Practo before reading this book. The writing is pretty average - the continuous references to the author's other books gets pesky. Few authors are such that even when you have not read any of their work, they are your favourite just because you hear so much about their amazing work that you start liking and recommending them. Somewhat similar kind of scene I have with authoress, Rashmi Bansal. She was actually the first writer I met personally at the launch of her 2nd book, Connect the Dots. After that, I have met her 4 times in various events. I have read 3 of her books but had to leave them in between because of some urgent work co-incidentally each time. But the kind of affect those real stories of entrepreneurship made on me has been very impactful. Finally, I have read and completed reading her latest book – Arise, Awake. Arise, Awake comes with the tagline- “The Inspiring stories of 10 young entrepreneurs who graduated from college into a business of their own”. The book consist of 10 stories in which students got an idea while studying of starting some unique business and they didn’t wait but started building blocks by blocks and finally became successful as an entrepreneur. They not only touched 6 digits profit but even 7 and 8 digits in some cases. Each story is unique and the examples searched by the authoress to be featured in the book are incredible. Except one story, almost every story hit me and made me realize that there are certain things I do with very less amount of money or for almost free out of which I can create some small business and later on turn it into a big one like all these gutsy heroes. If the book has made this thought enter in the mind of its reader, it has become successful in its idea. And all the credit goes to the author for this. The way Rashmi Bansal describes these people and their stories is really very amazing. You will feel as if you are having conversation with the real people in live. After completing the book, you will feel as if you were in a conference where all these people have spoken just in front of you. In the books based on the similar idea, often author do not discuss that real angle which brought profit to the proprietor or businessman but it’s incredible to see the chemistry between the author and these new entrepreneurs where we get to read that exact formula or approach with changed things for them. This is what makes Rashmi Bansal’s books the most popular in the genre and favourite of everyone who have an idea but are waiting because of lack of knowledge of how to proceed ahead. If you are in college and wanting to own a business rather than working for someone else, do purchase Arise, Awake. This book is waiting for you. I give this book project 4.75 stars out of 5. Thanks. I have completed reading my first book of this year, "Arise, Awake" by Rashmi Bansal. This is also the most popular book of 2015 in Business category. This book is about the story of 10 young entrepreneurs who started their business while studying in the college. It shows the energy, passion and persistance of those young entrepreneurs. It's an inspirational book; specially for the new or aspirational young entrepreneurs. It is "Startup" season so I would recommend this book to all of them. Finding near by doctors (Practo), AAC Blocks (Magicrete), Forensic accounting (Fraud Express), Dosa making machine, Dosamatic etc. I am surprised from where Rashmi Bansal finds these inspiring stories and then how beautifully she writes these stories, the language is so easy to understand. The way she writes these stories, make them even more inspiring. Hats off to your work Rashmi Bansal. Really inspired!

Couldn't have asked for more. Typical Rashmi Bansal quality of quantified storytelling! Just what I needed while dreadfully commuting to college :P There isn't anything I can say about this genius that I haven't already. Pre ordered this one too and then sat on it, slowly sipping it, chapter by chapter as per mood. Everytime it picked the enthu right back where I left it the last time. Best part? It romanticizes failures! Beautiful failures of students who dared to dealign from the tried and tested. Typical Rashmi Bansal quality of quantified storytelling! This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here. Book has been written in a very Lucid form. Especially for a college student, most of the things given and described in book are easily related to his current life. Book gives justice to his title 'Arise,Awake..' ,these stories give you new kind of energy and enthusiasm if you are feeling little low in your current work. Books contain 10 different stories of different personals, each and everyone can find something common with the personals. Book has been written in a very Lucid form.
