Five Things About Millie Keith: Millie's Courageous Days 1) as I said for the first book, this is not my usual genera. I am a high fantasy lover. Yet I really enjoyed this book! It gives me similar feelings that the Septimus Heap series does. I could just snuggle up with a warm cup of coffee and a warm blanket on a rainy day and that would be paradise. 2) THE KEITH FAMILY. AHHHHHHHHH. I just love all of them so so much. I love her mother, and Don and Cyril. I love her mother, and Don and Cyril. Maybe it's because I'm part of a big family myself, but I just love all of them soooo much. It's very real and I can relate on a lot of levels. 3) It handles lots of different aspects of Christianity that I really admire. Damaris, for example. Rarely have I read in a Christian book about a Christian who had it all wrong. I usually only see that in non Christian fiction, and it irks me. But this was handled soooooo well! 4) Millie is absolutely lovely. She captured my heart even more in this book. Her faith and courage (pun intended) is soooo inspiring! And her heart for a God makes me want to be like her in a lot of ways. 5) overall, I left this book with good feelings and a warm smile. It ended nicely and cleanly. I can't wait to read book 3! <3

I adore this entire series, but "Millie's Courageous Days" will always have a special place in my heart. Trusting God even when bad things happen is so hard, but so incredibly amazing. The scene at the end with Damaris Drybread gave me the chills the first time I read it. God really does work all things together for our good and His glory.

This was an awesome sequel to the first book. I actually enjoyed it more, and I think that had to do with already knowing the characters, and places, there wasn't so much to get used to. I enjoyed seeing all the characters grow. My only complaints are that 1. A, B, and C (The girls) seemed to disappear entirely. We didn't hear a thing about them and Millie seems to have forgotten about them. 2. (view spoiler)[ Aunt Wealthy seems to leave very suddenly without a reason. This is still one of my favorite Christian series for young women and girls ever. I loved reading all of the Elsie Dinsmore, Millie Keith, and Violet Travilla books as a girl, and whenever I find them again, they are just as fresh and delightful as the last time. The Millie Keith series was one of my favorite series to read. It's written by Finley, the same woman who wrote the Elsie Dinsmore. However, I found that I was more discouraged reading the Elsie series than I was with the Millie series. The reason being that Elsie is SO perfect in the books, always in the right, etc, etc. I'm not like that, so I was discouraged reading the books. However, when I read the Millie Keith series, I was encouraged by who Millie was. She was just like me! She had her problems with wanting to pinch her brothers right away when they wouldn't listen to her, or being content with what her parents told her to do. But, throughout the series, you get to see her grow in the Lord, and eventually those problems began to go away. She no longer feels the urge to pinch her little brothers, no longer struggles as much to be content with her new life. So, it was more encouraging, to me. The Dinsmore books are good, too. But perhaps I just felt better when I thought I could 'grow with the characters', per se. :)

So far this book is SO good!!! I am almost done with it and it has very exciting parts in it. Lots of things happen that make your heart speed up. It is about Millie who is settling into her new house (she finally moved from the warehouse where she first lived in-in Pleasant Plains) She has lots of responsibilities to do and she has to take care of her little siblings. On top of that she has to deal with her friends who are very difficult at times.

I loved every single one of the Millie Books! I read them when I'm sick of reading or if I can't sleep or if I'm having a bad day. She grows up through the books so I'm always her age. :) I loved every single one of the Millie Books! I read them when I'm sick of reading or if I can't sleep or if I'm having a bad day.
