If you know there is going to be a hurricane, I suggest YOU EVACUATE BEFORE THE DAY IT'S SUPPOSED TO HIT. Which reminds me: the MC was seriously so obnoxiously dense. 1. She didn't evacuate until the day the storm him. 2. Then she tried to drive IN THE HURRICANE 3. The eye of the storm was literally over here and she's like "ha ha yeah I guess this is a little bad" 4. She is an actuary, meaning she does stuff with numbers and probabilities or something like that. Well, she used those ""skills"" for everything. Example: If Daeg is going to seduce me, what will he do? And how will I react? What is the probability of him trying to do this to me? Seriously, it was so weird and annoying. I don't really want to categorize this as insta-love because it's a romance book so that's prerequisite but it was kinda weird how fast they went from "I just wanna sex you up" to "omg I love you so much" Okay but the hurricane part of this book was just so bad and it's obvious there wasn't much research done. Want to write about a hurricane? Call up Nicholas Sparks. He writes all of his books based in places that get hit by hurricanes all the time it seems like. No hurricane is going to hit California any time soon. I knocked off .5 stars just because Dani ALWAYS called him "Daeg Ross" as if he didn't have a last name and Ross was just part of his first name. That got annoying within the first twenty pages. Me: Grey, would you like to say any thoughts on the book? Grey: I have no thoughts other than it was stupid. There have been no hurricanes to ever hit California. I'm glad I'm not the only one that can get past this. Maybe the next book will be better.

I really enjoyed this book. 10 years ago Daeg had just enlisted in the military. He knew he would ship out soon. He spent the summer going by the local ice cream shop. that's where Dani worked. There was just something special about her. He knew he couldn't get into a relationship. He didn't do long term. When he spotted her walking along the beach looking beautiful, and alone on her prom night, he gave in and the two shared one kiss that neither Dani, or Daeg would ever forget. Daeg had a mission go bad. He is back on Discovery Island to give his leg time to heal. He is also having nightmares, part of PTSD. He knows other soldiers has taking pills, and the soldiers could never s wean them self off of the meds, using them as a crutch. Daeg refuses to go down that road. He will deal with it on his own teams. His first day back on the island he drives to the beach, and spots a beautiful lady on the beach. His flirting or people skills are lacking, but decides to try anyways. he is a little surprised that the lady on the beach is Dani. Dani was engaged. She had the honeymoon suite reserved. She walked in and found her fiancé in bed with someone else. she took her ring off, and threw it at him. The reservations was already made, so she went on her honeymoon alone. The story has a hurricane, Daeg and his team ready to save anyone that needs help, and a sweet romance. This is a light read, with no drama. I've always been a sucker for a good book, with a HOT soldier. I really enjoyed the friendship that Daeg had with his team mates. It reminds me of the friendships that my husband built when he was in the army.

This was disappointing. The title drew me in, but the first 2/3'ds of the book we just heard about how much Daeg loved his job and what an amazing hero he was. Then there was the fact he had kissed a 17 year old Dani ten years ago then never contacted her again. COME ON it was A KISS, she didn't have his baby! Why was she still mad at him ten years later!? By the time it started to get okay, I just wanted it to be over. This was disappointing. I enjoyed this story. It had good main characters and was filled with plenty of emotion and some dangers. Dani would say that the most dangers came from her emotions about Daeg. He was a big risk as far as she could see. He was a jump all in, feet first kind of man. She was an admitted over thinker, who constantly weighed the risks and wanted to go with a sure thing. A lot of that came from the unstable childhood she had. Her father was always looking for the next best thing and was jerking her I enjoyed this story. Usually the best thing he chased didn't pan out either. Daeg definitely kept things interesting. I enjoyed the fact that he found Dani's secret fantasy with Daeg list. I liked how he thought about that list. That he had found a roadmap to Dani's own seduction. He smiled when he noted that it also listed her likes and dislikes. The one thing I found kind of odd and a bit unlikely was when he re-injured his leg. He was already still recovery from a very serious injury and then that same leg got injured again. So much so that he was unable to shift the gears in his Jeep in an emergency. But then not too much longer, he squatted down during part of the story; without pain? And then he also went to sit on the floor in another scene. I found that a bit hard to swallow. Still...I did enjoy the story on a whole. It comes to a good ending with a H.E.A.

Wicked Sexy is the first in Anne Marsh’s Men of Discovery Bay trilogy, about former SEALs who create a rescue dive business on this charming little island off the coast of California. Daeg Ross and Danielle Andrews run into each other by chance on the beach. They had shared a kiss a decade ago and then he’d left for this enlistment. This was a good book. The hero and heroine were believable. The plot was good and kept taking different paths. You even has an ex you didn't like and only wanted him to leave. I liked how they had a small something earlier in their life only for it them not to be able to act upon it. It gave the story more depth. I would recommend this book. This was a good book. I was excited to read this second chance lovers story, especially when it has sexy hero in uniform. I have to say that this wasn't what I was really expecting though. I thought that it was an okay book, but it wasn't quite as sexy as the name and cover implied. Dani Andrews should be on her honeymoon, but after catching her fiance cheating on her she broke up with him. She decided to go back to Discovery Island and stay in the cabin anyways so that she can help her grandparents while they are on a cruise. Daeg Ross is back on the island helping his friends with their business while also healing before re-upping as a rescue swimmer. He has always been against settling down, until he comes across Dani on the beach again. Years ago they shared a kiss, but he left her because things weren't right. She was too young at the time and he had already enlisted. But now he is determined to get the chance with her that he didn't have before. Dani however isn't so quick to let him back into her life after the way he left her before. But when a storm traps them together, it just might be the push they both need to explore things between them. I liked Daeg and Dani. I thought that Daeg was a sexy hero, and he was a good guy. He was always looking out for others and took his job and the motto they live by seriously. He felt guilt over an accident that he lost a partner in, and it was good to see Dani help him realize that he wasn't to blame for it. Dani was smart and I liked her character a lot. But I did think that she had judged Daeg pretty harshly at first. He had walked away years ago because she was only 17 and he was 5 years older than her. That isn't bad later in life, but at the time it wasn't right and he knew that. I wish that she could have seen that before her grandparents had to point it out to her. I did like that she finally saw things more clearly though, and it was great to see Daeg help her with the insecurities that her ex-fiance had left her with. I thought that Daeg and Dani had great chemistry together, but their relationship did seem to progress rather quickly all things considered. I also felt like this book was pretty slow, and at times it was boring and hard to get through. There were a few times I thought about putting it down and not finishing, but I wanted to see if it would pick up. I also found myself skimming in parts because it just didn't hold my interest. I think that this one was a decent read, but it wasn't memorable or one that I would find myself wanting to read again in the future. The characters were good, but I think that the story was just lacking I think if you are looking for a contemporary with a sexy hero and an HEA you might give this one a shot. **Review Copy Provided by Tasty Book Tours**

Danielle Andrews’ is spending her supposedly honeymoon alone. Licking her wounds from her recent broken engagement, she seeks solace in Discover Island. This is the place where she found stability during her younger years, even if this was the place where someone broke her heart after one amazing kiss during prom night. Just as when she was busy brooding, and enjoying her solitude, Daeg Ross comes into her view. The special ops aviation rescue swimmer is here!! On the same island as she is. But this time, she would resist him. She had been burnt before, she wouldn’t succumbed to the temptation again. If she was all-list and all-plan, Daeg Ross was a risk taker. He was used to go into dangerous waters. But his emotions for this girl was another story. It was something different, and a whole new type of risk he wasn’t that sure if he was willing to pay for the consequences. It took one storm for them to be trapped in one room, and spend one hot wild night together. But would a girl who likes predictable things and had her heart broken, trust a man who is a great risk-taker? You will fall and plunge into love with Dani and Daeg, not to mention get that hard-pumping ride during the storm, and get hot and bothered with all those steamy scenes. The island itself was a majestic setting, coupled it with some hot girl and men who save lives during treacherous storms, who wouldn’t love this novel? •Complimentary Copy was given in exchange for an honest review.• More of my reviews at http://reviewsofabookmaniac.blogspot.com

He is the type of guy who will jump to save someone whether his life is in danger or not. He wanted Dani years ago but knew they were to young. This is a short story but very enjoyable. I love Dani and Daeg. they seem like total opposites but they do work well together. Both like to help others and have some issues in their past they are working through. There is lots of passion between them. I like how Daeg wants o be sure Dani is happy and how he helps her with her confidence. Another thing to love about him is he is more than happy to let her try to help. A lot of guys like to be in charge and while he is he also gives her the chance to try stuff. It gives him bug bonus points as a man to me. There is also danger in this book and it all wraps together to make a great story. If you want a quick read about great characters give this one a try.

Love this book, it truly is a modern day fairytale, with just as much hotness sprinkled on top, I can just about handle it. All the characters in this book are fantastic! Dani and get a wee bit annoying with the stick up her backside, but hey, when you think about it, I would be overly cautious when it comes to putting my feeling back on the line for someone to possibly stomp all over it again, The writing style was clear, smooth and not over fussy, I didn't feel bogged down by the military terms or get frustrated by the overused of acronyms. This book scored a 9 out of 10 for me, there is so much deliciousness in this book, how could I not!

Though I have to say, I can't believe Dani is holding a grudge on him kissing and running 10 years ago, when she was 17 and he was...well old enough not to be messing with a 17 year old. What I really loved was how Daeg knew she was the girl for him first. Usually it is the girl trying to convince the guy that he needs her. Of course, Dani is going into this fling after finding her fiance in bed with another woman. Her stay on Discovery Island should have been her honeymoon. Major suckage there! No wonder she had such a hard time dealing with Daeg and his desire for a relationship. The heat factor in this book, isn't quite what I expected for a Blaze, but that doesn't mean that there isn't sizzling chemistry between Dani and Daeg because there is. This is great beach reading material!

This is a quick beach read but I liked it nonetheless. Dani was supposed to be on her honeymoon at Discovery Island just off the California coast but the wedding didn't happen so she was licking her wounds and taking care of her grandparents' motel. The last person she expected to see was Daeg Ross whom she had a crush on when she was 17! Now he was here too on furlough from the Navy while he recovers from an injury and he was helping out some of his former SEALs in their new rescue venture. Determined to avoid each other at all costs, an unusual, for California, hurricane strikes and Daeg is forced to rescue Dani from her car before it's swept out to sea. After they spend the night riding out the hurricane in one of the cottages at the hotel, all bets are off. Now the only question is, will Dani stay or will Dani go? Will Daeg re-enlist or join his friends?

Review: I was given a complimentary copy of Wicked Sexy by Love Romance books blog for in exchange for an honest review. Wicked Sexy was a very enjoyable book. They are like oil and water but they are irresistible together. When their lives are threatened by a tropical storm, Danielle and Daeg are forced to take shelter and ride out the storm together. Will they make it? This book was interesting and I liked reading it. It was short but good. Danielle and Daeg seem like they wouldn’t work together but they do. There is a passion between them. I give it 4 out of 5 stars.

Navy rescue swimmer Daeg Ross and actuary Dani Andrews knew each other years ago; they shared a kiss and then Daeg left for the Navy. Even though it was just a kiss Dani knew there was something between them and was devastated when Daeg up and left without a word. Dani went on to have a successful career as an actuary. Now Dani is back on Discovery Island and so is Daeg. Dani is reeling from her breakup practically on the eve of her wedding. Daeg would like to start things up again with Dani but she is afraid of being left again. This was a great escape book. There is danger, a wounded hero, a disillusioned heroine and lots of sexy time on an island. I really enjoyed this book. I won a copy of this book during a Facebook party but was not required to leave a review in exchange for it.

I quite like the storyline for this and the events on the island really set the scene for the romance, but I found the constant peppering of military terms and scenes throughout (to remind me this is about a NAVY guy, I guess) quite obstructive and annoying. In addition, Daeg (the male lead is called 'Dag' hahaha...) spends about 98% of every scene frowning silently and refusing to communicate. Stoic and silent I can get, but this guy is such an immobile rock running roughshod over her protests I quite like the storyline for this and the events on the island really set the scene for the romance, but I found the constant peppering of military terms and scenes throughout (to remind me this is about a NAVY guy, I guess) quite obstructive and annoying. A lot of fun as a light read, but don't take it too seriously.

This was okay, and just okay. Neither character seemed particularly likable, and while they both accepted the limitations of the other, they just suddenly changed their mind. No warning, no lead up, all of sudden, boom, I thought I missed a chapter or paragraph, or even a sentence, but no. This wasn't insta-love, it was eh, I changed my mind, maybe, probably, okay yeah, let's be a couple I didn't get romance, I didn't heat, and I definitely didn't get wicked sexy, and darn it, I wanted it! Daeg can save me from an island during a level 3 storm anytime. As he attempts a second chance with Dani we get to fall for this sexy soldier. Dani is an analyst, always analyzing risks even in relationships. They are pure opposites. I just wish I knew how to pronounce his name, and why it was chosen.

Liked this a lot more than I thought I would! Anne Marsh's writing is such a breath of fresh air here and the storm surge scenes really lifted this story above the usual category romances in the Blaze series.
