2.75* Sort of a spoilerish review. Drew is a vet and finally has a job and is officially an 'adult'. This is the first Christmas he wants to go home and spend with his family, he doesn't like his hometown and felt stifled there, but now that he knows it's only for a visit he's actually excited. He reminisces about his youth, he was pretty slutty and his long term relationship ended badly. Well as it happens he has to work Christmas and can't go home, and just as he's about to watch porn and jerk-off 2.75* Sort of a spoilerish review. He reminisces about his youth, he was pretty slutty and his long term relationship ended badly. Well as it happens he has to work Christmas and can't go home, and just as he's about to watch porn and jerk-off ( very professional! lock the door at least! ) a hot guy, Allan, comes running in with a box of puppies and a very sick mother dog. So, they spend the evening together taking care of the puppies and when Allan goes home the next day he offers to take Drew to his house since the weather has gotten so bad that Drew can't drive home. It turns out Allan is very rich and also very presumptuous and pushy if you ask me. He lets drew shower and only gives him a very small bathrobe to dress in and then despite Drew saying he'd like to talk and take it slow they have sex the next page, wild dirty sex...wake up and Allan wants Drew to move in with him, give up his job, move back to their hometown and travel the world! That's where it fell apart for me, it was just too much too fast, and since I didn't really like the MC's all that much I didn't find it sweet and romantic as some readers probably will.

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here. I really liked the idea for this book. Drew is just out of vet school and for the first time actually wants to go home for the holidays because he's got a life as an adult that he's happy with, but it's not meant to be -- a colleague breaks her leg and since he's the new guy, he's stuck having to work the Christmas shift at the 24 Hour Vet Hospital where he works. It was okay at the beginning. It's told in first person POV, and there was a lot of telling going on, but the writing wasn't bad. The I really liked the idea for this book. It was okay at the beginning. It's told in first person POV, and there was a lot of telling going on, but the writing wasn't bad. Then it started going down hill. There were massive info dumps of vet related things that were completely unnecessary to the progression of the story. It felt like the author thought, oh that's an interesting problem a dog could have, let's add it to the story! Then finally, finally the love interest, Allan, shows up. He comes to the vet clinic because his dog is actually sick and could die. She's been bred too many times (by an evil ex, of course) and something's wrong with her (I'm not entirely sure what, since I'd started skimming the medical bits by this point), but anyway, Drew goes and works on her and gets her stable and then of course they've got to feed the puppies and I suppose there's supposed be some chemistry between them at this point, but all I could think is his dog almost died and he's got a box full of newborn puppies to take care of and he's really going to be flirting with the vet? But again, I just went with it. So, now the dog is stable and Drew finally gets to go home but the roads aren't safe to drive on because it snowed all night, so of course he has to go home with Allan, because he needs Drew to come home to "help with the puppies" which I guess is the new euphemism for have dirty monkey sex. Which they do. And then it's INSTALOVE time and they're going to live happily ever after and move back to country where they both grew up so Drew can take over his dad's vet practice and live happily ever after...after knowing each other less than a day. Right. Oh, and you're probably wondering why on earth a holiday story about a vet is called "The Computer Tutor." Well, it's because Allan is the billionaire owner of a "Geek Squad" type business called The Computer Tutor. Of course!
